He's saying that it should be legal to do so, yes. Slander, though, is illegal and has been for years, and slander is a bold-faced lie that is used to defame or otherwise harm the reputation of a person or persons, not necessarily an insult. I believe that slander is the spoken form of this kind of personal attack, and libel is the written (though I may be confused about that... could be the other way around).

So if you took the words at their base value and didn't overreact and jump to conclusions, you can see that the statement (which is entirely out of context BTW) actually makes sense, since Obama is basically sating that "Slander" should not be spoken about the prophet.

I sometimes wonder the same thing. I think maybe it's some false sense of hope that there will actually be some discussion going on, but it's mostly candidate bashing and people saying that they've already decided who they are going to vote for...

Bother and bullocks, I'ma just vote for whoever looks the sexiest.

WTF?
I would have never thought that obama is so pro islam. Instead of condemming the attacks on the embassies, criticizing islam for being non tolerant, we see this type of leniency.
Heck, eventhough I cant stand republicans, I would have voted for Romney.

Obama seems to have gone over the board with reason.

So Elodin throws in every article he can find to put Obama in a bad light.
How about doing that with Romney for a change?

I have read something about Romneys "knowledge" about planes and their windows....I couldn't help myself laughing out loud.
But if it is true he really asked why windows can't be opened in a plane, it really shows someone can be president of a so called modern state without being "normal" intelligent. (Becoming a millionaire has nothing to do with intelligence btw...)

Romy is just a flipflopper. Sadly, some of his stances when he was governor used to be better.

We get that from the mainstream media on a daily basis.  There are very few outlets who even attempt to vet President Obama.

Those of you who intend to vote for Romney - what are your reasons to do so apart from "Obama sucks"? And what do you think of his alleged intentions to start yet another war in Oilland + all the effects on the global economy (that includes the US one of course) that come with it?

16 trillion in debt.
43 months of unemployment over 8% (not including the millions of people who abandoned the workforce).
Weak foreign policy.

That's why I won't vote for Obama.

As to your comment about Romney's "alleged intentions" to start wars in Oilland, do you have anything to support such a ridiculous statement?

Eh, nevermind.  I don't really care.  Unless Romney grows a pair and starts campaigning like he wants to be president, he's going to get crushed.  President Obama is a superior campaigner. It's depressing, given that President Obama is one of the weakest incumbents since Carter and Romney is incapable of exploiting that.

You still haven't offered even one argument besides "Obama sucks".

As for the rest:
Quote:
"History teaches with force and clarity that when the world's most despotic regimes secure the world's most destructive weapons, peace often gives way to oppression, to violence, or to devastating war. We must not delude ourselves into thinking that containment is an option."

Source

Quote:
Romney says he would respect Israel's right to take preemptive action against Iran nuclear sites if it decides to launch air strikes.

Source

Quote:
'The President thinks that a nuclear Iran can be contained and deterred. He is clearly wrong.'

... and so on.

===========================

As to your sources, Zenofex, that tells me nothing about Romney's intentions.  It tells me he believes Iran is a threat and that he wouldn't fault Israel for preemptively striking Israel.  It says nothing about his intent to start a war.

OK, what's not clear? All this is "Obama sucks", or formally said "Obama is a bad president because of X, Y, Z...". The question is what makes Romney better than him except the fact that he's currently not a president?

He certainly couldn't do any worse.

But I agree this is a large problem with Romney's campaign.  You can't run a campaign on the message that the other guy sucks.  Kerry tried and failed.  So will Romney.

Hey, maybe he changes foreign policy and rewinds the the US economy.
Anyway, besides "Obama sucks", there is not really anything to good to propose for rommy.
When I look at Obama, he reminds me of his predecessor. Does not america got something better to offer?

As Corribus implied, it's the 2004 election all over again.  Romney is Jon Kerry.  The 2004 election was all about one question "do we want four more years of President Bush?"  Americans did, so he was reelected.

Now the question is "do we want four more years of President Obama?"  Romney is just the opposing party's placeholder in this election.  He's who you vote for if you don't like the president.  It's all about President Obama and whether or not people think he has done a good job.  I don't believe he has, so I won't vote for him.  I'll take my chances on a different horse.

Median household incomes have fallen 8.2 percent since President Obama took office and continue to drop despite the official end of the  recession, a new study shows.

Data compiled by Sentier Research found that since the economic recovery technically began in June 2009, median household income has dropped 5.7 percent. As of August, that median income was $50,678 -- also down 1.1 percent from the month prior.

And since Obama took office in January 2009, the median income has fallen 8.2 percent, from $55,198 to its present figure.

I was wondering why they chose to talk about median income or household, and not about average?
