I vote yes. There's no reason to not do that - if they could shoot you, you can shoot them back.

Unless you can't shoot due to being engaged by some unit close to your position.

ok...that will be done through an "ranged retaliation" ability then...

Now for keep and minotaur, the old chap.^^

which of these would you like for him?

Assault (HAs a chance to do a second strike after enemy retaliation)
OR
Guardian (When defending any kind of Building, Minotaurs gain a bonus to defense & attack)
OR
Shatter Armor (the heavy weapon of the minotaur crushes enemy armours. Takes "Armoured" ability from attacked enemy. Enemies without that ability get a defense reduction of 25%)
OR
Shooter

Don't listen to that guy^

Minotaurs should have a small chance of becoming Enraged (natural bloodlust ability) when attacked. It should also make the Minotaur retaliate against the attacker who triggered the ability (1st time). The effect wears off after a couple durations.

@aviros: it could still be upgrade ability

ok, we proceed to Arcane Spirit.

Which of these abilities shall it possess

Arcane Body (like teh wisp ability, reduced physical but increased magical damage suffering)
OR
Mana Source (As long as astral Spirits are on the field, the hero regenerates a bit mana (the more spirits, the higher the regeneration rate)
OR
Astral Heal (Activated ability. Once per battle, Arcane spirits can consume a bit mana of the hero to heal their stack)
OR
Arcane Bolt (Activated ability. Once per battle, arcane spirits can set off a Strike of Arcane Energy, that can hit any target on the battlefield, for a good amount of arcane damage)

Arcane Presence - Gives the hero a spellbonus for every x number of friendly Arcane Spirits on the battlefield.

Magic Attack (Like in H5, ranged attack damages every unit on the way.)
OR
Arcane Studies (The mages have studies magic their entire Life, and they will allways go on studying. Each 7th day mages have spend with a hero in a town, they learn 1 random spell from the hero spell book/the town mage guild)
OR
Spell Reader (The mages do not have a defined spell book, they can cast any (low level) spell of the hero's spell book instead)

How often do mages spend seven days with a spell-knowledgeable hero in a town?

It's rather unprogrammable - using separate towns, you'd get mages knowing different spells, so what'd happen on a merge?

Spell Reader is just simpler.
