@Azagal, aye, no killing and stuff. I am not planning to kill anything, but I've never had OD as a GM before, so I do not know how much of a **** he is. For all I know I might end up infiltrating the estate and find myself surounded by countless guards.
Anyway that is not my character's(or my) basis for wearing the armour. As I've said before(IC and OOC) I have no information about estate layout or that kind of stuff. And I am in space now without anyway of getting a hold of the info on how the technical details for this party works(do they need another waiter? Is there a unprotected air went or sewer I can crawl in through? How protected are the outside barriers? Would I be allowed in if I came as a bodyguard? Can I impersonate a guest? Etc.) so to avoid walking straight into a trap(paranoia is part of the job description) I got two choices:
Ninja or commando...Or Jack Sparrow, but that will surely get me killed.
Now in retrospect ninja might be a bit more suitable. Hmm, need camouflage.
...I really should've chosen to be Mystic instead of operative, then I could've just gone all psyker vision and snow( )

Well the way I believe this will work is that we outline to Omega how we tacle a situation (as I did with assigning you all roles) and preferably make it as clear as possible to him how we want to handle things (I (perhaps unfortunately) left open how you should infiltrate ergo it should fall to you to decide how you want to infiltrate) and he drops us in a situation and we then proceed with stuff.
And you're on the team of an Inquisitor nothing is beyond your reach, atleast nothing as simple as getting the layout of an governors palance or having it "arranged" that one of the waiters is sick/incapacitated whatever and you are his replacement with a perfect resumé and history of serving as a waiter.
I'm just telling you for future reference, I'm not saying your current approach is wrong at all I'm just saying that you don't need to restrict yourself because you "need to be ready for everything at all times". Hell man worst case scenario just ask.

Here is where my unfamiliarity with Wh40k universe really shines. Like dagoth, I am left asking myself whether we have paper/an intergalactic internet where I can get all this kind of information. All I know is that we have a librarium.
Also, this is Wh40k. It is grim dark. snow happens. People need to fight, kill and die. All the time. Hench why I am extra paranoid right now.

Well it's true that the dark millenium of the far distant future is a dark place where untold thousands of people die across the galaxy at every moment but that doesn't mean you have to exspect getting violently murdered every step of the way all the time.
When things go haywire it gets serious no doubt about that, all I'm saying is you shouldn't (or atleast I believe you shouldn't) let that sort of thinking that there is need for murder and bloodsheed or to kill people in selfdefense dictate your thinking in every action you take. No need to be paranoid. And if you're unsure just ask here Omega is an ultra experienced RPer and Warlord has great knowledge on the universe and well I like to believe I know a thing or two atleast so it's not like you won't get answeres.

I suppose we make them up ourselves, Omega said he'd like to use a hands-off approach mostly. But if we do not however you do not make coversation upon your entrance just yet.
Just make an entrance, communicate with your team beforehand and there get yourself a drink and look at the scenery. There plenty of things you can write about before starting up a conversation.

Yeah yeah that's true. Still if I need to make people up I kinda need to know what they're supposed to tell me since I'd be moronic if I write something along the lines of "Oh yeah the Ol'Tan are here X" and Omega has this super elaborate plan for things. Can of course always hcm me with the info.
But yeah a first post just with info and teamspeak is a lot better first anyways.

What you say is true, but that does assume that Omega has everything figured out already.
Personally I'd have a rough idea and go with the flow and wing it as I'd go along. But that's just me. And I'm not realy an RP leader.
And if Omega chooses to inform you via HCM and make things a surprise for the rest of us, I hope he leaves less ambiguous instructions this time round. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

As to the party, you need to investigate. Mingle. Pick a group of people to speak with. It's a party after all.
Remember your cover and who you would question about what. Merchants might know about any of the Ol'tan's business dealings. The PDF and Ministorum guests may be able to offer some insight into the uprisings. The church might be able to speak about the morality of the star sector. The governor is an obvious lead.
I'll fill in the details, which means I'll be updating per character.

I'd like to wait with "mingling" once you've outlined the character of Joaquin. Or do you want me to actually greet him first before you do that?
Also I don't see why I would need to talk to a Ministorum representative since Horrace is part of the retinue and he probably knows more than enough about the situation. And what he doesn't know he has the clearance or the means to find out.
And the church thing... want me to come up with a character to engage in conversation or are you going to present one to Alexander/Anya/Karl during the course of the evening?

Eh, the Ministorum is the church, Az.
What your thinking of is either the Depertmento Munitorum or the Administratum.
Don't sweat it. I got more time on my hands than I've got ideas to spend it.
And for the sake of argument, in the post I'm gonna start on after this one, I am still going to assume that the inquisitor is already inside.

Well I am inside (I edited the post recently to add that we've entered the palace).
And uh yeah my mistake I simply saw Omega differentiating (alteast it looked like that to me) in his post so I just copy pasted . Yeah what I ment was the Administratum.

hmmm. Okay, I've come up with two emergency solutions:
1) Mac remembers that he can replace a waiter by using the Inquisitorial powers of his boss.( A) Did it over whatever we got that is internet. B) Visited the waiter and paid him to be "sick" that day or something. C) Knock the butler down).
2) Beat the crap out of a soldier who went to take a piss or something and take his costume, which has a mask for some reason.
3) I come in as bodyguard
4) I sneak in, somehow getting pass the soldiers.
