Especially with all the customization featured in Wog...

I had some nifty ideas for custom maps ,campaign ,items ,heroes & abilities.
Some custom Forge-related structures that don't actually appear in the town itself be cool too ,
like crash landed starships and computer module monoliths.

Agreed. Do you have some kind of a forge mod or is the screenshot photoshopped?

HIK, your work looks very good! I think you would be helpful in our team, but I am not the boss, although I like your enthusiasm connected with this town.

If I were you I would definitely continue this work, besides I can help you with some graphics if you don't want to join Manigoldo's team. Just one question: you've made everything by yourself or you used materials from previous Forge designers? I double also Pellish's question.

Few words to Halfling guy - you've just ruined his face... But fixed background is quite ok.

According to ogres I've got something for you. Trith made another ogres' models that are in my oppinion way better than the previous ones.

Discuss, evaluate and give your own ideas - I will tell everything on our forum.

Its mostly made with photoshop. I've only made some very simple mods ,
like adding my portrait into the game (with varying results) which is taught here.

The appearance of the Forge is a matter of opinion ,to me it looks awesome.

Nice work with the ogres Swarog.
I've been wondering if the ogres from the stronghold could be converted to these Forge ogres in the game?
Or any of the other creatures? I mean if you were playing and got some minotaurs ,
would you be able to convert those into the Forge-type minotaur given enough resources?

That would really make things interesting...

How's the progress of the mod going anyways? When will we get to see a beta version or something like it? I also wonder if the town will require WOG or if it'll be installable directly on SOD (like Modern Forge). I'm not the greatest fan of WOG and therefore I'd like to know if I will be able to install the Forge on my SOD - which has the HotA beta version too - and thus use both of the new towns on the same game.

Yeah, but that isn't what I asked for either. I asked if the mod will be made for SOD and not WOG. If it's made for SOD I'll be able to install it onto the original game (provided that Forge'll replace Conflux or some other town) and thereby use both the Forge and the Cove while playing. You should read more carefully before answering.

No idea. Some long time ago when I was not in the team B9 showed me his concept of ogres, although they were made in 2D from scratch. Anyway, they looked strange and I'm glad that Trith is making some good 3D stuff.

Minotaurs maybe?

Our current  Jump Soldier/Jump Trooper concepts. That mino from the left was made by Artov and that one from the right was made by vanBhradok as far as I know. Non-upgraded version is fully animated, while upgraded one is animated dunno, in 40%?

Referring to Pellish's (don't be offended, but this word looks crazy) questions I would repeat that Manigoldo should answer them.

I'd rather go for a hero hith such speciality. He doesn't even need to be campaign hero as Gelu or Dracon. There are always some additional units on a random / multiplayer map.

Well done, the Minotaurs look splendid and the new Ogres are an improvement.

HIK, the Ogre-conversion was a wonderful idea that can be expanded upon. Since Manigoldo's original plan was to add a Lighthouse to the Forge (which wouldn't fit very well due to lack of sea access and the proximity to the Tesla Coil), maybe you guys should replace it with a Cybernetics Facility (random name I came up with) - it would convert:

-Goblins/Hobgoblins to Grunts/Foot Soldiers;
-Walking Dead/Zombies to Cyber-Dead/Cyber-Zombies;
-Ogres/Ogre Mages to Stingers/Bruisers;
-Minotaurs/Minotaur Kins to Jump Soldiers/Jump Troopers;
-Naga/Naga Queens to Tanks/Heavy Tanks.

Must've slipped my mind. But they still look great.
All of these creatures seem to have been derived from the other towns
so it would make sense to be able to convert goblins ,walking dead and the other compatible ones to Forge creatures.

I also thought that the necromancy skill might be a possible option for the Forge heroes ,
even if they wouldn't actually start with that skill. But it was just an idea.

Well, judging from the storyline, Forge heroes having or being able to acquire the Necromancy skill wouldn't fit, as it's made obvious in M&M VII that they completely abandoned Necromancy and even magic altogether (having no more Guild levels than the Barbarians), focusing solely on technology.

I've taken a look back at the GKH project and came across an interesting idea of theirs: several Forge units with a large amount of mechanical parts (Cyborgs, Tanks and Juggernauts) should have a specific attribute ("Machine" GKH called it) that gives them unique characteristics. It would be a Forge-specific attribute much in the same way as "Undead" is Necropolis-specific.

Will we see a beta before the release of the final version?
Will the town be for WOG or SOD or both? I pray that it's not for WoG exclusively as I don't play it (I would install it for the cause of the Forge though lol)
Also - and yes I know you probably get this question alot - but when is the first release, beta or not, estimated?
