@Kip: Pickle Rick and Ricklantis Mixup. The former for the introspective focus on Rick's character, and the latter for being basically a worldbuilding clip show featuring Evil Morty.

So, I got curious and checked out this Rick & Morty. I watched the first three episodes, I like how they combine classic movies each episode. Inception/Planet of the Apes, Inner Space/Jurrassic Park... It's really funny.

The Deuce is one hell of a show. Very realistic period piece with dark atmosphere, mid 70's New York, the pimps, prostitutes, bars, street corners they deal in. Quality script, good casting. It's like the real "Sin City" without any shooting, if you will.

Jessica Jones was good, better than expected. Nothing is clear cut and especially the antagonist. Finally an interesting antagonist with a powerful presence and food for thought. The cast is great overall but he is captivating.

So, a somewhat more Americanized Black Mirror with season 4 is here. The show is still much better than most of the crap out there but what made Black Mirror special was the original critical approach and the distance to binary good versus bad formula. They started to drift away from that with S3 and S4 is even more compromised in this regard.
E1: The retro Star Trek universe was fun but this is the most Hollywood episode of them all. Our heroine, with her sidekicks, takes out the bad guy against all odds and of course they barely make it in the last moment. I would have enjoyed this very much elsewhere as quality popcorn but this is not what Black Mirror's about. And since it is the season opener, it worries you.
E2: Very typical but classy episode, you get your hope back.
E3: The plot is not plausible at all, which is again unusual for Black Mirror. So many things would have gone differently in real life and such technology couldnt be forced on any one.
E4: This was different and a good one, not a dark one though, so the mirror wasnt black. Still, it was a memorable episode.
E5: A Walking Dead type thriller with robots instead of zombies. Not bad but it sure lacked a philosophy of any sort.
E6: Once again, we have good guy punishing bad, and this felt more Twiglight Zone than Black Mirror. And the subject is certainly getting repetitive.
Also lol at this

Watched first episode of Sky's Britannia. Had high hopes for it, but so far I'm disappointed.
It has high cinematographic values, that much is certain. But it just doesn't feel authentic at all. Like they wanted to make a series about primitive times, but with modern feeling. The language (so many sh*ts and f*cks), the dialogues or how the characters are well-informed about their timeline do simply not feel right. Even the opening song seems to point in that direction and I don't like it.
And it's also messy in the storytelling department. Too much to process in the first episode, the characters are not likable, and there's too much spiritual mumbo-jumbo. Well it would make sense, considering the setting, but I think it's more of a plot mechanism to make it easier for screenwriters to justify all the happenings.
I'm gonna give it another try, but the first episode already left me not wanting more...

If "Poe" is a Hotel AI in the show (in which Kovacs lives), then, yes, in the book it's called the Hendrix, and it's indeed THE Hendrix.
