Don't worry guys, map is still easy, it is just harder than before, which was a cake walk once you knew what to do. You pump thousands of mithril/month and you worry about +1 speed for AI? This means an extra 200 mithril for you, is nothing considering the special bonuses and exploits from reload.

Have you checked all the battles on Curse Ground with the new changes yet? If everything is still fine then I have no problem with it.

I will release a script update for the 2-3 battles which could be impossible if you play them month 12-15, including the gorgons before Rashka and the trolls ML talks about. Gorynitches are already exempted from speed upgrade.

You were right, the fact that Xeron event always happen trigger same dice. No matter how much reload, if same settings happen before the random seed, random will be always same. I removed xeron event in test and variable changed. Thanks for information, did not know.

Hey, did you know that you can sell all movement artefacts at devils'cave? Looks not, cave is still guarded. Near fortress town.

TO be honest I don't want to create much hassle...

if it's quick and easy then I woul like to abuse that posibility of selecting my level up, now that I am mid map with 4 heroes ready to level. BUT is no problem. I noticed that in the previous week the dices rolled week of devils on special levelup so is a nice alternative + is a special condition to a special , rare case. so really, no worries..

Look at devil's cave, there are 1000 mithrils potential right now, free heroes from prisons, send them to stables, get the runner pack and sell.

Zydar is one badass mofo.

Attacked him in m5w2 having that army with those stats.



I needed double morale on devils to have it possible while  he freezed as much as he had morale...

Maybe my devils dmg could have been higher , but unless a frenzied  stack of AD's would've 1 shoted a full stack of cyclops the amount of luck needed to win should've been the same.

I am curious how next fights on mos will look like.

Speaking of luck on zydar, I attacked him 6.4.1 with MoW just to see how much speed he has then make adjustments. Frenzied my devils and they got morale and luck on second attack. So my test fight was final...for him.

Seeing how Luck is such an important factor in this map (though I know that Luck is pretty much a factor in everything)... Master of Luck faction: Manipulate Luck and Morale of the battle field, all creatures of MoL get +5 10 Morale and Luck, Death Blow at start, while enemies always have -10 Morale and Luck, also increase chance to get Fear. Can also manipulate Hatred of both side. Go go go .

Kidding aside, you said you have only played MoW yesterday and already reached Zydar? That's quite a playing speed, while I can also play with such speed (or may a bit slower) in game, I just play very casually in real time, the longer I finish the map the longer I can play it .

I use turbo-wog mod, most battles take a few seconds. I can't play heroes without.

@Edit: Updated script

Modifications:

1) Movement bonus for every special level: special level +3 *100 (*200 for MoS). So at level 1 you get 4 additional tiles, at level 2 you get +5 and is cumulative. Previously was +1 tile, not worth. Don't be too happy, I barely made to level 4 with main until Piquedram, so is not going to cover all map early. Of course, MoS will benefit the most, again, but also others will get decent expansion.

2) Gorynitches, trolls and mighty gorgons do not get speed bonus, those are the only battles on cursed ground. Galthran should not be a problem, I will see about Thant later. Last idea would be to allow MoE to ignore cursed ground, as he is the only one to be penalized there, MoS fights early = less HP, MoW has much more army. But this requires the player to adapt to unknown mechanics, not sure if good.


Hard to tune balance but I still prefer an internal time limit so I keep impossible growth after 12th month (+50%). With all the movement bonuses, it should be easily doable, even for new players.

Looking at your screen , Valery, I think another factor which led to an easy fight vs Zydar are the efreets. My stack was 1 shoted by every melee hit coming from Cyclops , yours survived at least 1, maybe 2? before they were getting into Resurrection .

In 1st round My big stack of efreets was long dead including 2 - 3 hits on the 5 man stacks. I always got into a position where I lost every efreet while still having 3 and a half stacks of cyclops. When I had the lucky try he had 2 and a half stacks of cyclops, I moved devils in and thinned their number in melee.

Piquerdam looks interesting, but should have a working strategy on him.

IIRC Piquedram phoenixes have No Retaliation, and there is a spot in the town that only one stack of Phoenix can attack you. Lower the stack number as much as possible, then use such stack as a shield so no other phoenix stack can attack you, you know what is needed to do at this point. The key is how to survive in the first few turns and get the chance to place AD in that spot.

Well, let's put it: for Zydar, Wystan and Aine you will need a lot of reloads probably. I don't think is about pure luck, because when you have 6 morale you should get that double attack once in the first 3 rounds, while AI gets it ridiculously often. Then fear should work at least 2-3 times during first 3 rounds, which are capital.

Others battles are easy, is just about placement and protect, take advantage of battle obstacles, block the castle gate (Josephine is so stupid, she never gets out while she could eat you in one round)

I always hunt that no retaliation stack. there are fights where are 2 stacks (or more) of the same troops , 1 being No retaliation...that's my friend

So assume that My special level 8 bonus is Movement speed, it will give me 5 tiles bonus while the base gives 8 + 3 = 11 tiles? Like the new change, however it makes true bonus from SL becomes weaker instead, assume that it works the way I understand...
