Israeli tourists killed in a bus explosion
This is literally a few hours old - a bus with Israeli tourists was blown on the Burgas* airport, here in Bulgaria. According to the local news media the victims are at least 6.
What's also important is that, even though the causes are certainly not clear yet, Israel already screams Iran. A terrorist act definitely can't be ruled out but nothing else can be said at the moment. The whole thing doesn't bode well.
*Burgas is the second largest Bulgarian city on the Black Sea coast and one of the four cities with an airport that can support large passenger jets. Still, it's far from the big international airports like Heathrow for example.

quote: An Israeli witness told Israeli army radio that the explosion was probably caused by a suicide bomber at the entrance of the bus.
So 47 peeps on the bus, 4+ dead, 33 injured (no idea to what degree) so a single eye witness, goes "PROBABLY a suicide bomber?!?!?!" How can you say that it was probably a suicide bomber, when you saw the damn incident, any moron can speculate as to what caused this, but if you were an eyewitness then you should have a level of certainty, especially in such a 'severe' international matter.

Really? There was an explosion, probably not much was left at the epicenter, the survivors walk out of it in shock and you expect them to be certain about anything? It's not like they knew in advance where to look.

Well they don't say where the eyewitness was, there could have been a guy standing in the entrance (not even a bomber, just some random guy) of the bus that didn't shout all stereotypical things and reveal his dynamite-vest

Btw, now they're saying that the police is checking out whether the bomb was placed in the bus beforehand or was brought in with the luggage.

An economically besieged Iran, currently having a highly precarious political standing while it tries to develop nuclear technology, decides to carry out a proxy terrorist attack on Israeli tourists in Bulgaria.
Sounds legit.

My guess: random terrorist cell within the Balkans. I wouldn't even blink if it turned out to be non-Islamic. There's a lot of hatred towards Israelis/Jews in Eastern Europe. h8 h8 h8. Lots.

I thought it was well-known that there is a full-scale "shadow war" between Iran and Israel. I doubt that it will escalate any further than tha. We'll see what happens to Syria first.

Exactly, I agree with Blizz.
I really hope Israeli government had something to back that up, but no. Just blind accusations.

Apparently Israel has sent some "special investigators" to inspect the scene and everything else. At the same time, even the local Israeli embassy is dead certain that this is a Hezbullah-Iran act (they just know it, almost literally). OK, sure, it's possible - just like everything else is possible at this point - but they are a bit more than overreacting with all these accusations.

It is highly possible that Mossad is behind this. Israel needs fast some bully pretext to go war.

I suppose that the problem revolves around the fact that they were israeli. because we never worry anyway when human beings get killed. we only worry if they are of a specific nationality...

With regards to the whole Hezbollah/Iran accusation. True, there is no proof at this point. Think about this, when a covert op is carried out against an Islamic group or against Iran the whole WORLD screams "Israel!", because (and even I have to admit it) it is a very logical explanation. So when Israeli tourists are bombed, after several attempts to carry out a terrorist acts worldwide in the last month were made by Hezbollah, Israel screams Iran because it is a very logical explanation.

I don't think is logical at all. At this moment, the last thing Iran authorities want is to offer a cheap pretext to Israel for retaliate. And more logical would be Al Quaeda, Palestine and a bunch of other countries around.
