those aren't in the mod patch. those are things i've done that haven't been added to the upload, like the haunted objects, the forge stuff, etc. pretty much anything i made on the last 2 pages of this thread.

bes, i just read the comments to my patch on the vk-era site. i apologize for any confusion your link to my patch has caused you and your russian friends. i re-uploaded the screens of what is actually in the patch on the first page of this forum. the other screens of objects i haven't added, you should take down, to prevent further confusion. sorry for the miscommunication, and late response.

bes, i would also post a russian-worded explanation of why the new objects aren't included in the patch on the vk-era site, but i would have to sign up there, which i don't do. this site is the only one i'm signed up in.

holy ****. remember when i was trying to have my changed battle-hero(shadow knight) def show up in game, and it showed the OLD def instead?

people told me it was hardcoded, that i couldn't change that.

but guess what? you CAN change it if you run the "heroes .exe" file with the compatability settings set on "run in 8-bit 256 color mode".

i just found that out, thought i'd share that useful information.

i'm sure there ARE some things that are hardcoded, but i found 2 that aren't, that was believed to be.

Hero combat sprites are like any def, not hardcoded. Could change them in wog3.58, same in era.

so that's what you meant by "joke". no, i had brought the problem up before, that i wasn't seeing a visual change, i had replaced the "death knight" with a different version of the necromancer def, and all i was seeing was the OLD necromancer def, without changes i had made. someone said it was hardcoded(i'm guessing he meant palette).

i was able to see the changes just now, when i changed the game settings in the properties of the .exe.

Probably your win7 used memory cache then. They are not hardcoded, once you change it, is done, like the others defs.

i now have 504 objects that haven't been shared yet. i'm hoping to get some help from 3d-program gurus on here(the witcher 2 thread, where i talk about wanting the werewolves from skyrim put into h3). we'll see how that goes...

--looks like i'm not going to get any help with the werewolves. this reminds me of when i could have used help for the spiders i was repainting. i got no help then, either. but i gave them to people in my objects patch regardless of that fact, after i did them myself. that won't happen again. i'll find a way to do them myself, and i'll be keeping them, along with everything else new.

I've been reading your post and I don't quite understand what you are doing here, you are modding, telling everyone what you're doing and keeping the community updated about your creations, and telling them you won't share it ? What's the purpose of this ? Or maybe I understood it wrong ?

I am not willing to troll, but let me point out that there is +60 mods out there made by fans who never demanded anything in return. You create a lot, and tell people "I made this and that, but I'll keep it for myself because I am on my own". Most modders here appears to be on their own as well. Please consider that people may not have the time for willing to help freely on some project that aren't theirs, nor the competences. You don't have to blame anyone, and I do not think that anyone has blamed you either. And if some people do not have the courtesy to reply even a short "no" to your requests if you make some, even though it can be upsetable, surely there is nothing personal in it.
I hope to see more of your work in the future.

i can't reply and explain everything, galaad. as corribus said in a post on page 6 of this thread, "This isn't the place to discuss what is happening to whoever".

exactly WHERE i should post that kind of content, i really have no idea. i'm not going to start a thread just to address your questions regardless, wherever a topic like this SHOULD be. there is no point.

you'll have to be satisfied with what i have out now. that's all i can offer at the moment. sorry.

lol, consider my newer stuff to be like that OTHER stuff that never comes out for years(or ever even sees the light of day), that people talk about. i'm just one guy, i'm not a team. all of my work, i do alone, and i doctor everything i put out, where as many just copy and paste from other games, without bothering to fix little(and sometimes big) visual errors that i am developing an ever-increasing knack for finding. not that i'm belittling anyone's work, i appreciate and enjoy all of the new additions to the game, no matter how small.

wasn't sure where to put this, and i'm not starting a new thread about it. as it deals with my fear faction town plans, i will post it here.

i was wondering if the following is at all possible, erm-wise:

1. my "shapeshifters" changing into(read:becoming that def) whatever attacks them, and ALSO gaining their attributes/strengths/weaknesses. AND, for this to happen as many times as they are attacked, even in the same enemy round.

2. my "werewolves" changing whatever THEY attack into werewolves, where the attacked gain all of the attributes/strengths/weaknesses of werewolves(as well as also changing into the physical werewolf def). and finally,

3. scripting a new artifact(or two) that PROTECTS from both of these transformations, for both would-be attacker and would-be defender.

3a. OR, merely assigning a "protection" to the fear faction themselves, and themselves ONLY(so that shapeshifters could change back to normal at the end of the battle, and werewolf effects could not change all of a fear faction's army into werewolves, if such DID happen.

i hope that's clear enough in how i put that. erm-gurus, what do you think?

Isn't that exactly like the metamorph script? Haven't used them for a while, can't remember all the tiny details. But since they are tiny details, I'm quite positive it can be done. Did you check the metamorph script?

i don't think i ever got a chance to run the metamorph script, i can't ever remember it working. and the updates that came out for win8 screwed my h3 game, i can't run it for very long anymore, keeps freezing up. damnit.

i will take a look at it, though. thanks, i had forgotten about it. maybe i can reverse some things in the script to make the werewolf transformation happen, who knows.

It works, just make a test map and create a hero with Earth Messengers, then wogify the map with metamorph script on:

Wogify Options/Skills, Monsters and Heroes/Monster Enhancements and Balance

fred79,you can also check how the Secret race works in TDS.
I haven't played it for a long time now,but I remember the creatures transform into other creatures during battle.

not sure if anyone knows or not, but i posted a new def here.

it was only downloaded twice, so i thought this might give it better advertisement.

it took me 2 hours to make, because i had to go back 3 times in photoshop to edit the frames for it, only to realize that i had to start over with the flc file from scratch when i needed the originals to edit all over again. that's what i get for saving over top of, instead of in a new folder, every time i make changes(like i normally do).

i am thinking about compiling a new upload. just the kind of mood i'm in, i don't know if it'll happen.

here are some screens that i was going to post months ago.

new water surface ice(also works very well on land, as frozen lakes):

snow and ice defs remade(frozen lakes near bottom left):


a dragon guarding it's treasure:


and, a shadow dragon(which i am in the process of making, to replace the darkness dragon, btw. almost done with my acid dragon, which will replace the rust dragon):
