i do all my modding on era 1.8 + wog(my original install. once i have everything how i want it, i'll transfer the changes over to an era 2.4 install, then run that). i think i added those sounds a long time ago, back when i was mixing homm2 sounds into homm3. but i don't remember ever having no prebattle sounds, so, i don't really know.

So, I haven't had any Windows 7 installed on my Mac for about 6-7 months, I set up boot camp and installed it again today, decompressed Era 2.46 from my archive, checked this thread for new mods and stuff.
Here's the thing, I downloaded the Mod Manager from this thread's first page again, in case it got upgraded, it indeed was a different version from mine. But the thing is, it seems way worse, most of the old infos don't display, you can't save/load mod sets, it even looks worse. So, what am I missing here?
To compare, my Mod Manager (which I rolled back to) is this version:

I have another problem, when I try to install most of the new mods (or upgrades of old mods that I used to be able install such as Morn Battlefields or Fred Objects), the computer gives me this message:
The program can’t start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer.
So, I've done some googling and found out it's about this: MSVCR100.dll error
I first downloaded the 32-bit version from the link, since the Win 7 I installed is 32-bit, nothing changed, the site says if one doesn't work try the other version, needless to say, I just did that, however, when I try to install the 64-bit version of this exe, my system tells me this:
So, whatever happened in between during these last months, most of the stuff is now impossible to install on a 32-bit system, I never used to encounter such a problem before. Is there anyway to work around this?

Ok, note that my second post has nothing to do with the Mod Manager, I am currently using the MM that I always have used, my Win 7 was always 32-bit, when I install the mods that I kept in my archive, the old versions just unpack fine, however, when I download the updated versions from this thread, I can not unpack the mod exe file to begin with, the "select destination folder" installation windows just wont open, giving the error code above. Not all mods do this, but most of them do. I think it's a graphic compatibility issue.

TL;DR version:
1) Try https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145 (you need only x86 version)
2) Latest version of MM can be downloaded from http://wakeofgods.org/mm/mm_latest.html (version in first post is not latest)
Some more info:
1) It was my mistake to build self-extracting mods with requirement "VS Redistributable must be installed". Currently, mod packages are created without this requirement... but, some mods are still packaged in old version. If you really want to wait, we (me or Valery) can repack these mods without this requirement (please, specify, which mods should be repacked). But installing VS Redistributable is better and faster solution . As alternative, you can use some programs (7-Zip?) to manually unpack these mods in game directory. At last, you can use MM to install these mods (just drag'n'drop mods to MM window or use "Add new" button.
2) Give a chance to latest MM version. It also can:
a) Work with presets (and also bind executable and/or wog options with it. And even allows to export/import them).
b) Shows more info about mods and even screenshots.
c) Change wog options (and filter them for fast search).
d) Check for updates and (optionally) install them automatically.
I was a bit sad that unit movement with Turbo mod in battle was relatively slower than what I was used to with HDmod and Cranim data.
Sadly, Cranim made ERA crash upon launch.
It turns out I was just a bit slow and the solution was handily available: extract the cranim.txt version from ERA and fix the data as it is done in SoD. The new creatures were missing
Result is quasi instantaneous movement.
I haven't done the ERA units yet but will update at some point.
Yes, however even for me who did billions of battles, the instant movement is too fast. But I will compile a mod with your cranim, in case someone got Parkinson.
fred, you named your both patches with same name, so in the process of uploading new one I erased the old one at wakeofgods.org and both links in main thread point to same. Do you want to keep old patch or the old material was moved into the new patch so I can delete all data about first patch? Let me know.

Thanks for the reply, I already figured out I can open them with WinRar and carry mods into related folder manually and they work. So, it can be considered a problem with an easy work around and no urgent repack is necessary. It would be nice if you guys get around it at some point though, but I really cant remember which mods didnt self-extract at this point, downloaded a lot of them.
