Actually I was thinking about adding a (hidden) +1 morale bonus to Romanian undeads so the morale penalty will be nullified. Or making them just "unliving" without adding the "undead" ability.

IMO, that's a really bad idea. What's the point of having undead creatures if they wont have the qualifications of the undead. It would be like canceling the thunderbirds fly ability or having archers that dont shoot. Besides, the game has some standards everybody base their tactics on. The undead reduces the morale of fellow living units, you can not resurrect elementals or non-living units, fire units are immune to fire magic, etc etc... You start messing with those just because you want to put vampires -that actually dont have the qualifications of the vampires btw, which reduces them into a postcard- in a town, the whole game feels wrong and inconsistent because of one town.

Technically is unfeasible. Undead have no morale so you can't add a hidden +1. The erm flag "undead" nullifies any morale.

SELF_MORALE to non-undead units will easily solve your problems. Undead and living units together is a cool theme indeed.

I also like the idea of mixing undead and living creatures.

Instead of giving that +1 morale (that cancels the undead penalty), since Romanian troops would have neutral morale by default, you could just make their units slighty more powerful that you had intended (so they can live up without the basic morale bonus). And the fact that they'll have negative morale if you add troops of a second town makes Romanian town also a bit more unique

It seems that I wasn't clear enough, I wasn't going to give undead morale, but to give them archangel's ability to add +1 morale to all other troops in your army.

I could set all Voivodes to start with basic leadership, it makes sense since they are kings.

Could you be a little more explicit?

Yay, an excuse to make Romanian units overpowered That could work and it would also give them a chance vs Necropolis on large maps (with the right artifact of course, let's not forget that Bone/Ghost Dragons lower enemy morale.

I mentioned VCMI ability, i don't remember how it was called in ERA/WOG.
But as i remember, Minotaurs had this ability (yes, it's always positive morale for minos).

I don't think it could work, it'd be too overpowered.

Well, if some of your units are going to have hate undead or hate skeletons, it's not like they'll need a lot more to beat Necropolis anyways

Interesting topic. Like the idea here!

But if its not already a plan of yours, maybe dont use a identical vampire from Necropolis? Make it more romanian styled?

I guess LW's not going to create new units, but I hope that something will change in future.

As for vampires, someone who is familiar with 3D can probably recreate the H4 vampire, or even the H2 one who is anyway closer to the Romanian stereotypes of stylish Dracula.

LW already showed repainted vampires.

Well at least it has the Nosferatu feeling, unlike H5's and H6's ones.

Actually Romanian traditional vampires (strigoi) resemble more Nosferatu than Bram Stoker's Dracula, they are bald, have pale skin and are hideous (I know I made strigoi skeletons/ghosts but now don't throw rocks at me )
