One minor point is that Stevie is complaining about all the buildings being stone, but there not, some are definitely wooden, f.e. the three-fronted building just below the grail, or the one just to the right of the stairs. I would also suggest that the balance of wood vs. stone could be achieved by showing some sort of 'town growth' as we saw in H3.

Ubisoft should hire you immediately... Especially Haven looks amazing. Wonderful job, man.

Thanks a lot, but actually there is not my job, it's just my look from another side to the Gamescom trailers and accomanied with little work of special soft.
By this short video I wanted to show how good 3d town screens can be in Heroes 7.

Yes, I know that. Yet, in my opinion, you have much better understanding and vision of a town screen presentation, than all Ubi's designers, artists and other employees together. After seeing your video, I will not be satisfied until I see those 3D fly-bys in game

I just wonder if that's the way towns will look like in the actual game or this is just one special town made for demo/campaign and actual player towns will look much simpler (like in H6).

Academy town also looks high detailed on both adventure and battle maps:

Actualy I think Limbic has made a great job as we can see those flyby.
But it's can be used more useful then only prebattle flyby scenes. So, if there any chance that this thread will see somebody from Ubi/Limbic, may be Elvin can assist...

P.S. There can be another one great flyby, for example for the Fort screen:

As I already said, I'm all for 2D townscreens, as they appear to be not that bad in Heroes7. I would love for 3D ones to return, but unfortunately Limbic doesn't have enough money for them. And I prefer no 3D screens at all, rather than simple map models like in Heroes6.

I agree. I hope you're right about those buildings, I can't see clearly with that fog blurring the image. I hope it gets fixed.

Added fauna and vegetation to that post. Didn't had much time last night and forgot about some stuff.

+1 to that, since some space is used for plains, mountains and such at least make it more immersive.

I agree fully. Seeing the image in your post, specifically the levitating shadowless doll-houses of Heroes 6 vanilla Haven clearly shows why original Heroes 6 display just didn't work AT ALL.

The Heroes 7 footage from the demo, also the image of the castle from some distance with the houses in the foreground (lower right corner) looks great, clearly with a proper placement of buildings this looks many times better even as a 2D image than the actual townscreen they've presented us.

When first announced, a bunch of us thought that this

was going to be a H7 townscreen, me included. Personally, I was thrilled because I assumed this would be the way to go - a 2.5D townscreen that uses the game engine itself. As it turns out, it does not have to be a fully animated H5-like arena to still look stunning. I must admit that, to me, this still looks better than that (ironically) random Haven with the big Elrath statue.

Last but not least, it reminds me of the H3 Castle town with all the mountains and stuff.

Not to criticize anyone, but I always considered that consideration a bit weird, if you compared it to the other screenshots that showed the demo map. They were all from the same map, just from a different point of view. If you take a look in this topic, the first post contains the screenshots from that demo near the bottom. Screenshot 6 is a closed up view of the map, displayed from a wider angle in screenshot 9 (the one that was assumed to be the townscreen by many). In screenshot 6, the windmill just above and to the right of the Titan can clearly be seen in screenshot 9 as well (just to the right and above the small "keep" in the center of the image - while the "keep" itself is visible in screenshot 6 as well, on the left side of that image).

That's the point, a map shot that happens to resemble a structure with town screen layout appeals to me more as a concept than the original creation that is supposed to make it into the game.

I suppose so. But would they be a shooter, like Marksmen or what I believe Cabir are, or are they solely spell casters? Or are they hybrids? If they were actually "shooter" type, they could still be tower turrets, but if they were spell casters in any form, wouldn't they better serve their city by using spells, and not shooting stuff from a lousy turret?
