Yeah, it's helpful from the dev side for observing its behaviour and fixing and improving it. In the final game the AI turns will be accelerated.

That should have been made clear from the get-go. Like here, there is no mention that you slowed down the turns intentionally to improve its behaviour. Stating that'd help I think.

It's not that we slowed it down, it's that we haven't accelerated it yet. Currently it plays at the same speed as a regular Human player.

AI was faster in precedent beta. IMO it could be nice to fix AI priorities in battle, for instance stop hitting harmless fodders, it's damn too easy.

- AI is and idiot, doesn't capture mines and doesn't pick up resources

You can cancel by pressing escape
I fully agree that the ai is an idiot, but for me, picking up resources and capturing mines actually was the only thing it did. After I killed it's three heroes the ai did nothing at all. This is a very bad joke i hope. Just why did they not hire Quantomas back then when he was willing to work with them?? There is no reason for them not doing it because ubi's studios never manage to program a decent ai. For me, this might be the biggest downside of the whole game as i almost never play multiplayer and without working ai there is no reason to play singleplayer. This is a deal breaker for me actually.

A few other things i noticed:
-Bug: The unicorn has no animation during combat. It's still as a rock which is funny because the hero keeps moving on the unicorn
-Bug: When casting a spell the cursor will always look as if casting was not possible
-Loading times are ridiculously long. I would suggest to change the main screen to a picture as nothing besides the flames is moving anyway. This should make the start up loading time much sorter for example.
-Bug: Sometimes the battle cries are shown as already casted in the spellbook even when it'S the first round of the battle
-Why are fortifications of a town not shown on the adventure map?
-The camera is very unflexible. Even if i wanted to i couldn't look at the creatures models closely as they are only shown in combat and the minimum distance is still quite far away. At this point i really hope lizardwarrior (or someone else) reduces the model's polygon count as he had shown once, the models are just unneccesarily high detailed.
-Bug(?):In siege battles all units behind the enemy's wall are "Covered" even if the wall-parts between the enemy's unit and mine are destroyed. This makes no sense.
-The beta is seen as a virus by avast
-(not directly game realted) I hate the uplay launcher. It's useles and creates only problems. Nobody wants it, it's just a waste of hard disk space and nerves so when will ubisoft destroy it? Beacause of that useless piece of cr*p it took me over an hour after the games was downloaded and installed to be actually able to start it up. Seems that after uplay updating itself a file called libcef.dll broke. I had to download a repairing installer found here to make it work properly again. So if anybody has the problem that after clicking play nothing happens try closing the uplay launcher and restarting it. If it doesn't work anymore try this installer.

But in the end i still like this game more than h6 and at this point it feels more polished than h6 is now.. xD

As someone pointed out, Uplay is a part of its gaming policy on PC's, so you have to get used to it because it doesn't seem to be going anytime soon.

Some complaints:
- moonwalking heroes is still a thing. Fix dem turn rates already, for creatures too.
- audio is bugged as hell, creatures stopped playing their sound effects.
- can't manipulate creatures in the army tab during tactics phase.
- information in regards to chest gold/xp, Arcane Shrine spells and the like is very gratuitous.
- Artificial Ineptitude.
- champion creatures dwellings tied with absurd magic level requirements of up to 4 levels, wtf?
- stiff camera.
- I can circle around resources but can't pick them, that's frustrating.
- can't double click the town to view it cuz the hero will always path to enter it.
- right click has literally the same function as left click on many features. Don't try checking week of.

I could go in deeper but time's pressing.

Liking:
- main menu and loading screens.
- crisper graphics which I can't run anyway.
- mixed neutral armies.
- more objects to visit on the map.
- some attempted balancing.
- mimes getting slain.

Will play some more tomorrow.

You need to (single-)click on the flag hovering above the town. Clicking directly on buildings will order your heroes to move there.

I figured that out since Beta 1 and I'm amazed I'm seeing it again. What was wrong with the old way of doing things? Clicking on the garrison should path the hero, clicking on the town should enter to view. Simple and efficient.

If I remember correctly what the coders explained to me a couple of months ago when I asked them that very question, it's a technical issue linked to how the engine handles the entry points for 3D objects on the map's grid. Or something along those lines There was no easy way to make an exception for towns, so we came up with the flag thing. The new system is not so bad once you get used to it, but old habits die hard.

There's a tiny thing that striked me. I was watching this stream and the player was on a map with a Tear of Asha. He turned the map on, chose the Tear of Asha's map and it only covered a tiny bit of the screen above the interface. As many people pointed out, minimap (and interface of Adventure Map in general) should be removed from screens, where it isn't needed, like in Heroes V, where Tear of Asha's map covered whole screen and had a small "Close" button that mixed perfectly into the atmosphere of the screen.

Pleasantly surprised, second beta phase is in rather good shape all things considered.

- Love the use of mixed neutrals.
- Inclusion of neutral creatures!
- Arcane knowledge
- Redesigned metamagic
- Skill changes
- More diverse starting armies!
- No crashes, few bugs!
- Improved hero selection.
- Artifacts autoequip now.
- Only one adventure spell out of the 5 tier 1 spells!
- Smooth game overall.

On to the bad parts.

- It honestly takes like 10 mins to load the main menu. Wtf!

- No camera rotation? Why?

- No loading bar during AI turns. I bet this will be fixed.

- Town requirements are ridiculously bad. Sylvan champions both require mage guild 4! Hunters require blacksmith. I just don't see a unified building plan, pointless restrictions all over the place

- The AI is goddamn awful. I played the small map and it was completely useless on normal. It came to my area on week 3 without having cleared its area nor anything from the underground. By week 4-5 it had still not cleared its area for crying out loud! Not the guarded resources, not even the goldmine!! None of its heroes used any spells other than firebolt, making me doubt it built mage guild higher than tier 1. I let it run around to explore the map and check the new units and it eventually came to my area again. This is where it gets good. It was closer to my town than my main and it could capture it in one day. I bought the rest of my army and moved to the north so that it could take the town and planning to combine army before retaking it. The enemy hero DID NOT CAPTURE THE TOWN. It chose to backtrack and attack my main that incidentally was stronger in level and army.

What the hell!

The first time you load the game, Unreal needs to compile all the shaders. Normally, it will load much faster the next times.
Although 10 minutes seem pretty long (if it wasn't an overstatement ^^). Would you agree to share your hardware specs?

Last time I checked, you could rotate the camera with Delete and PageDown.

@Pawek_13

Now magic skills improve your arcane knowledge which allows you to learn higher tier spells from magic skills you do not have. Now you can learn more spells with less skills Though they are obviously not as strong as when you pick their magic school.

I was not joking, it really took that long give or take. Where do I check my specs?

Should have known the hotkeys were changed, thanks.

Another aspect that disappointed me are the dull, washed out colours. Was kinda hoping for more vibrant colours this time after all the negative feedback

Finally I received an e-mail stating that Beta started already (what a surprise) and the game appeared in my library.
Try to contact their customer support if you have the same problem I had. I don't think it's a coincidence that my issue was solved in 10-20 min after I submitted the ticket.

Now waiting for the stage of "epic" adventure. ^^

An interesting change, I must say. A good way to improve spell diversity.
