"Trying a lot" was exactly the problem. The mindset of the prequels appeared to be "Darth Vader is the most famous villain in movie history, let's obsess about it nonstop in our prequels".
As a young Vader, they should have just made him a prideful & powerful padawan that was full of piss & angst, who eventually sided with the chancellor simply because he has a "might makes right", gung-ho philosophy, and then you can connect the dots between episode 3 and episode 4 that he became settled in his ways as an unsympathetic despot. It's really not complicated. They didn't provide some unnecessarily intricate backstory with Kylo Ren and it was a major success. Well, at least among critics and general fans. Here, people seem to think he sucked because he was a 20-year-old warlord that behaved like a 20-year-old warlord.
They didn't need so much painfully drawn-out screen time about killing children and be driven with grief over his fiance. It was all just melodramatic in the end. The reason characters like Darth Tyranus were forgettable was because the screen time was hogged up elsewhere.

Agreed again. They wasted Lee, and I would argue that even Darth Maul was and would've been a better villain than Anakin was in those last 30 minutes or so of episode III. Heck, even General Grievous' over the top style was more bearable than Anni shouting how "YOUU TURNED HERR AGAINST MEEEE!"
To summarise, they took one of the most well-known cinematic villains and decided to make a story about good and evil and love and death with him in the center while a whole lot of other things were going on, and they lost me once they mentioned how he was born of a woman with the help of movie magic (can't call it science).
After that, it didn't get much better, and if that wasn't enough, they kept him really young and immature for all three movies.
Neeson, McGregor and McDiarmid's performances and the inspired settings like Naboo were forgotten under Hayden's teen angst.

If you mean that Disney Infinity Boss fight between Rey and Kylo Ren, Kylo says there "Curses!", not ***. This supposed cobfirmation was recorded when Rey destroyed a barrel over his head and his reaction to it was triggered immediately after he taunted her, hence some people cobfused "Curses!" with ***.
Speaking of prophecy - except for destroying the Sith after destruction of the Jedi Order, he also killed the Son (embodiment of the Dark Side) after the Daughter (embodiment of the Light Side) had been assasinated by the Son. By permorming these actions, he brought back the balance to the Force, which was supposedly shifted to the Dark Side by Plagueis (at least according to EU.)
Doesn't sound like curses to me. Either way this is the most likely scenario.

Are you freaking joking me here, lol. I have no doubt in my mind that the internal conflict of Anakin escaped you completely with the prequels. Like, honestly, do you really believe that a redneck is all it takes to explain the backstory of Vader? Or are you convinced that Vader was nothing more than an unsympathetic despot who just happened to throw his Sith master to his demise to save his own son, lol. Dude, Kylo Ren going apesnow on computer terminals ain't got nothing on the subtle and deep internal conflict on Anakin. He is indeed troubled in his own way but the the manner he expresses it is just borderline lame.

I like this theory more than I like the boring one about her being Luke's daughter, but I feel like it left out some important parts about why she had to be Palpatine's. If she is Palpatine's granddaughter, who was her parents?
Btw, if you combine this theory with another theory that Palpatine is also Anakin's father then our other Skywalkers are descendents of Palpatine as well hahaha

I've read it multiple times, but without any big explanation. I suppose the idea is that Anakins mother just talks about how she just got Anakin and there was no father, strange huh?
So knowing what mastermind Palpatine is and how instrumental Anakin was in Darth Sidious rise to power some fans like that concept of Palpatine even going so far as to be the one to plan Anakin, so he finds someone on an obscure planet to have his child, so that much later can have someone to easily manipulate once he comes of age.
To be honest I don't know all the details, I'm sure someone has a much better and detailed explanation. I guess Anakins fatherless status just has raised some questions amongst some people. ____________ "You turn me on Jaba"
