Using Plugins to mod Hota+HD mod does not work anymore, correct? Or where do I have to add the plugin in ini files or so to make it work with hota+hd ?
I used pugins few years ago when hd+hota still supported them and assumed modding hota would be dead after hd mod disabled plugins for hota, but this thread here still seems to be active and even talking about plugins here and there?

If plugins are still possible, can I also use them in the Online-Lobby from HD Mod? I only play with my frieds who would use the same plugins and I absolutely don't care about any kind of competition, so I absolutely hate that they removed official plugin support with that reasoning, its just nonsense.

As far as I know hota even destroyed the option to play Hota+hd via gameranger, they say there is the online lobby of HD instead. So if plugins in general work, but online lobby is able to scan and prevent them, I hate the online lobby even more and curse the hota devs for not bringing back gameranger multiplayer support

(sorry for being angry, I and many other modders don't like that hota devs hate modding, while they themself are modding )

Correct, they added DRM to HotA many years ago to prevent modding.

Has anyone had luck in updating the addresses posted by Celestin on page 92 for 1.7.0 regarding reverting the changes for Necromancy? I've found the updated addresses for Logistics and Intelligence and are as below:

* replace bytes D9 15 8C EA 63 00 to DD D0 90 90 90 90 at address 0x001825EC (previously 0x0013883C)

I'm interested in finding where HotA's values for Estates, Intelligence and Mysticism are stored, not to turn them back to original values, but to have my own values.

I found Advanced Intelligence, but there are too many of the other instances to find the others though or I will have to go for a major trial and error quest...

I also had another value for Mana Vortex, that does'nt work anymore...

Hello, happy new year!

I am needing a bit of help here, please.

I modded Complete some years ago, thanks to this forum.
I did TXT for a lot of stuff, and HEX edition to change the numbers of Secondary Skills. It all went right and I had a lot of fun doing it... but it felt half empty without HotA. So I wanna know how to make that Mod again, but with HotA.

This is what I did:
I extracted the .txt's (both, Complete and HotA in a different folder), i edited a HotA one to test it, put it in the "Data" folder inside "Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete" (where HotA and HD Mod are installed), and loaded it with LodEdit. Well, it worked on Complete but not on HotA, and I don't really know where to go now. Of course I searched the forums a lot of times, but I never knew how to make it work in HotA.

Can you describe me a simple step by step on how extract, edit & load TXT changes to HotA...?
And I am wondering if the HEX editing for Secondary Skills is done in the "h3hota HD.exe", or where?

Nonsense, of course HotA can be modded, why do you think this thread exists?
txt files needs to be added to HotA_Ing.lod and HotA.lod.
Hex editing should be done to the exe file you use to launch the game, some of the specific HotA stuff can be edited in HotA.dat and HotA.dll

Be aware that every time HotA comes out with a new update hex editing needs to be done again and txt files needs to be imported again.
I think HotA might release a smaller new update soon, so it might be worth waiting 'till that's out.

I use the program MMArchive to add them to the lods.
I downloaded it for free a long time ago, I suppose that's still possible.

EDIT:

Ok, i oppened MMArchive, I see there is an option "associate with lod"... but does nothing by itself, nor when I open those lods you said. I expected it to make me choose the txt I wanted to associate.
It says "A call to an OS function failed".

HotA hero info (secondaries, masteries) are in HotA.dat (same folder as the exe). I posted the offsets earlier.

Some changes that have been done:
HotA now introduced Interference as an actual trait instead of a general replacement of Resistance. You can give your hero both Resistance and Interference. Resistance is trait 1A, Interference is 1C.

There are new Race indicators in the new HotA version. Formerly, race went from 00 to 0D, now there also is:
11 (Cassiopeia has this, so I guess Nymph)
12 (the Nix specialist campaign hero has this)
13 (Halfling I guess)
14 (some Dark Elf)
15 (Gremlin)

It's somewhat ready for release, but still there are some things that annoy me...

Still waiting to have these as quests in seer's huts & gates...

- Be specific race.
- Be specific sex.
- Have a specific secondary skill.

Would all be great quests to have and add so many possibilities to custom maps.

@Juas After editing and saving the txt file (you might wanna save the original somewhere, just in case) you use the function add to add it to the appropriate lod.

Is there any point to race or sex, I mean do these specifics actually do anything in game?
