Yes, it is my old program for Cove town port in ERA+. Editing all data is support.

The location is different in different versions. The order of the data in the file can be absolutely any. My program finds all the data and sorts it by form. The sorted data can be edited and automatically written to hota.dat. It is impossible to predict the specific location.

Are you sure? I mean if we take the newest version of HotA, is it 1.7.1 now?, won't the data be the same always?
Otherwise I am sad I probably don't understand your program.

If you add new heroes, creatures, artefacts, towns in hota.dat, or realated version 1.7.2... All data location will be different and the program will be able to read the modified file.

Yeah I know data might change for 1.7.2, but maybe you knew where to find Cove and Factory in 1.7.1?

Why don't you just search for 'casspells'? There are only two entries, probabilities starting from 2E028h and 2F76Dh.

I've few time of holidays and was reading post about "Angelic Alliance's" effects.
I wonder if there is a way to make this effect to be of use for "bad" units too...
Lets say the change of effect would be :
- "Good factions" can go together without morale penality,
- Same for "neutral" and "bad" ones too.
- I'd add any of them have no problem to be with "non affected units".
Then the effect is more "symetrical" and of use for bad factions too.
As this effect is not very strong by itself, I thought about changing it to some other artifact if someone knows the adress to hex change the artifact who does that.

For HxD it's 'Search -> Find -> Text-string -> {Enter the string you want to find} -> Search all'. I'm sure you'll find a similar option in your preferred hex editor.

Is it possible to write a rule that says Logistics gets offered every X levels, similar to Wisdom and the magic schools?
Logistics is a must have skill and sometimes if you are unfortunate enough not to learn it, the whole game seems ruined.
Magic heroes generally struggle the most learning it.

HD_Hota.dll changes and castle gate 0x
Im using the wonderful btb2's guide. In it, the author states:
"The Inferno Castle Gate is problematic since it requires you to possess at least two Inferno towns in order to be of any use whatsoever. However, we can allow it to warp us to any other town we own (a one-way trip, mind, unless it's to another Inferno with a Castle Gate) with a short edit to HD_SOD.dll: go to 03C2F0 and change 75 5D to EB 34.
Unfortunately, since this plugin is part of HD Mod, which is still being updated, the above address is subject to change. Make sure that what you're editing is the correct instruction (75 5D), by checking to see if the code just before it is 83 F8 03."
However, in the new HD_Hota.dll following the patch, I can't find said value. Of course I've tried the find function, and interestingly it does appear in HD_SOD.dll, but simply not in HD_HOTA.dll.
Does anyone know where the new Castle Gate offset is?

I found something that may be useful for deciphering the HotA Resource Silos: The resource silo table is brought up in HotA.dll at 0xd37ae, and again at 0xd37ce. Changing the ce part seems sufficient to replace all resource silos. Now I'd like to ask someone more skilled in assembly than I am to try to find which part of the nearby code "chooses" Dungeon and Rampart for Cove and Factory from this table.
