In case anyone was wanting to make Pathfinding more useful, here's where you can edit movement costs:

Grass   23E530    Water   23E590

No worries. Similarly, terrain affinities for each faction are in a table starting at 2436A8.

Hello? I need help. How do I edit the "opposite hate"? I would like to remove these properties from Air and Earth Elementals. Or I would like to give this properties to other units.

The part of hate speficially dealing with elementals is located somewhere around 04313E~043169, with all of the other creatueres who hate each other (Angels/Devils, Genies/Efreet, etc.) probably close by.

On another topic:

Does anyone know where the movement bonuses (in the exe) for the Ring of Wayfarer and Necklace of Swiftness are located at?

Is there a way I can add Gold and Diamond Golems to the Golem factory in the Tower building itself?

I can't find it because it's too difficult. I need a more specific hint. And is it possible to transfer the characteristics of Ice Elemental to other units while leaving the Water Elemental as it is?

I've found the Genie/Efreeties there starting at 04313E, but I don't understand the way they are related.

It took me about 20min to actually find the Genies and Efreeti, since it's all in hex, and the hex code for Genies is 24 and for efreeti is 34.

Are the two bonuses linked or can they be independent? I'm thinking of making one of them +1 speed and the other +2, with the Cape of Velocity +3.

Hello, I have tried.

It seems they are in a way linked.... except for the cape.

I have tried editing the 01's in it thinking the 1st 2 are for Necklace of Swiftness, but changing these 2 values resulted the +1 speed being deleted.

the full string is:

Movement bonus is located at E63FA: 01 (string to find: 05 75 03 83 C7 02 01 7E 50 8B 4D FC)
Movement bonus is located at E6407: 01 (string to find: DB 33 C0 81 C1 2D 01 00 00 83 39 5E)
Movement bonus is located at E6443: 01 (string to find: 74 05 BB 01 00 00 00 8B 7D FC 6A 5F)
Movement bonus is located at E63C4: 01 (string to find: 74 05 BF 01 00 00 00 6A 45 8B CB E8)
Movement bonus is located at E638A: 01 (string to find: 8D 8B 2D 01 00 00 83 39 61 74 31 40)
Movement bonus is located at E64C1: 04 (string to find: B8 04 00 00 00 83 C1 10 83 39 00 75)

So, as can be seen there are 6x 01 00 00 00.

I have - just by example - changed all 6 to 02 and both the Necklace and Ring of the Wayfarers +1 speed bonus disappeared.

Weird stuff...

Pretty sure I just found the addresses to edit the odds of what you get from Shipwreck Survivors. It follows the same structure as treasure chests.

0C18C0 = 37, or 55% (chance of Treasure class)
0C18D5 = 4B, or 75% (-55 = 20% chance of Minor)
0C18EA = 5F, or 95% (-75% = 20% chance of Major)

This leaves us with 5% left over, which is your chance of pulling a relic from one of them. Adjust these values as you see fit.

Ok, here's one for the community... is there any way to edit which tiles surrounding a town are allowed to have ships built in them?

The problem: there's only two valid tiles where a ship can be placed when built in a town, and both of them are in FRONT of the town, which as you know is where you have to enter them from. This makes it extremely awkward to place towns in a place where they can actually build ships, and the land always ends up looking like snow no matter how to do it.

If nothing else, a town should be able to build ships in the land BEHIND them... it's super asinine that a coastal town can't build ships because it's on the north instead of the south.

True...

A town should be able to build it's shipyard/+- lighthouse in a N/S/E/W orderly fashion.

Anywhere there's water (say in a 2-3 square radius).

I found the Ring of Life, testing it ATM:

The bonus is at E6456 01
(full sting to make the search easier: 01 43 6A 60 8B CF E8 8F 2D FF FF)

Before it is the Ring of Vitality at E6443, full string:

BB 01 00 00 00 8B 7D FC 6A 5F 8B CF E8 9D

And after it is Vial of Lifeblood at E6467, full string:

C3 02 8B 7D 08 8B 0D B0 47 67

The 01's and the 02are the bonuses for +1 and +2 life respectively.

It works, but a patch needs to be applied starting from E6441:

Original string is: 05 BB 01 00 00 00 8B 7D FC 6A 5F 8B CF E8 9D 2D FF FF 84 C0 74 01 43

Replace it with the following:
03 6A XX 5B 8B 7D FC 6A 5F 89 F9 E8 9F 2D FF FF 84 C0 74 03 83 C3 YY

This patch will relocate the Ring of Vitality bonus (XX); "YY" is the Ring of Life.

True, but these addresses are for HoMM 3 Complete (not HD). And easier to find... for those like me...

I keep forgetting y'all are working on HotA and this isn't just a general hacking thread >.>

Anyway... there's the shipyard question I asked above. Also curious if anyone knows where the Week of the Imp is specified for the Inferno grail. Feels like this would really stand to be improved by kicking it up a few tiers to Month of the Demon or something.

In addition to what I found earlier, I think I've found the probabilities for sea chests. 0C1862 is the 20% chance for nothing and 0C1872 is 90, or the 70% chance for gold.

(EDIT) Warrior Tomb is in the same area:

0C1BEA = 1E (30% Treasure)
0C1BF6 = 50 (50% Minor)
0C1C04 = 5F (15% Major)

No clue where the hell Wagons are, though.
