there is no reasoning with these people; because they have either lost the ability to reason, or never had it in the first place..
fred, your interpretation of reality is not reality itself, you are not some cool headed representative of facts. JJ didnt deny the existence of that incident, neither did he defend or excused the guy, he just said it was an extreme incident and could not be used to label BLM movement in general. And he explained this to you, almost like explaining it to a five year old. Yet, and you always do this, you bring your one-sided version in some other thread, which completely rewrites what actually happened. You did this with Adrius and Meroe, too, and they werent even here to defend themselves. It was a debate, you had your say, he had his, you could not refute his arguments, stop bickering and ranting by manipulating what actually happened. It is dishonest and childish. And you with your mirror, complaining about “no, you’s” really, oh, the irony...
The left has a problem of overzealous political correctness, which ends up in echo chambers that are out of reality, yes, but you guys also have your own echo chambers, you dont achieve it with political correctness, instead, you achieve it by simply stooping down so low, constantly name calling, outright labeling people this and that, meme trolling etc, most people who have an ounce of dignity give up and leave. Or they get provoked and lose their temper like you deliberately try to build up but then you blame them for it. So you end up in your digital ghettos, soy this and soy that, convincing each other how your version of the story is actual reality. Reality is the facts alone, not your opinion of it, and you are one of the most “out of touch” members in here when it comes to reality anyway, there have been times, your comments borderlined clinical level paranoia and delusion, you are not in a position to lecture anyone about reality. It is not reality that people object to in your comments, let that sink in really deep.
Both the left and right are political spectrums, you can find nutjobs or fanatics or clueless kids everywhere, pretending every issue in your country is some fake evil plot implanted by the leftists arent going to make them disappear.
you literally attributed what the left(including you) do here, and kip's posting style, to me. i do none of those things. speaking of "stooping low". i'm glad you posted that, though. with every nonsensical post, you reveal yourselves for what you really are; and quite clearly.

To be fair, one can't help but feel aggravated if any time one tries to present proof of their claims it's just disregarded because "far right propaganda". Or when you present doubts about the media being fair and bipartisan, you get called a conspiracy theorist, because even if media is blatantly politically charged, people will deny it because it's useful.
Honestly, considering how political discussion works nowadays, I believe ridicule is the only answer, next time I'll post memes as well, because why not join in the fun.

Well, kip is straightforward, and that usually doesn't work well. Or maybe it does, sometimes I wonder if there is even sense in trying to communicate when views or values are so vastly different. We might bicker, but that actually doesn't change much in the bigger picture. The planet will die and closer humanity will be to that moment, then we will forget all concepts like withdrawal, social justice, brotherhood, making amends and "making things right". It will be to each his own. I wonder how liberal people of today will react to such a dog eat dog reality, because they simply ignore/don't know that many people are simply inherently evil...

That meme stuff only works at places like 4chan becuse it only works at a certain level of immaturity. When you look at actual comedians though, ones with 1-hour shows, quality jokes, properly critical jabs at the system, 99 percent of them are left-leaning at the core. The only dispute is the overzealous political correctness, which anybody level-headed objects to anyway, from right or left.
And do you guys want this place to be like 4chan? 5 years ago, OSM had much better quality, can any of you deny that?

I don’t know who you’ve been debating with but there is such a thing called far-right propaganda and it usually doesnt consist of facts but outright mad conspiracy theories, take a look at this QAnon movement for instance, it is like a unification of all far-right nonsense into one big juicy pie. What you complain about is rather about internet communication itself though, a leftist would be complaining about how right wingers deny facts because his echo chamber would always bring in front of him examples validating such situations. That’s why for instance, in my Facebook list, I have people from all camps of politics and I follow all their insider talk, it’s an antidote for echo chambers. There is a Netflix documantery, Social Dilemma, it is guys like the ex-ceo of Facebook, designer of Instagram etc etc talking about how the business model of social media is constructed to keep you hooked, how your attention is the product for the advertiser, who is the actual customer of social media and how this ends up in echo chambers and massive polarization. One of them even claims social media, which they started with all good intentions, reuniting lost family members, connecting organ doners to the sick and so on, can be the very triggering source of civil war in the end.

I don't know, I think I wasn't frequenting that section a few years back, cus other section were actually more lively (looking at you Heroes games sections). The franchise is dead so HC doesn't attract people anymore (last homepage piece of news is from 2016).
OSM is now a pathetic joke on wanting to reanimate HC somewhat... you post something and need to wait at least a few days for someone (if anyone) to respond to you. If it doesn't concern politics that is.

5 years ago? you mean like, before Trump became president and the establishment/left didn't utterly lose their snow SINCE then? when i was still somewhat left-leaning myself and the actual left weren't utterly exposed for who and what they are? when there were many more leftist posters here and only the "extremes" were called out?
yeah, i remember those days; back when the entire left weren't weaponized by the establishment against the others in their class. it WAS a much more civil time back then.

I look at both, actually, I both look at the most unhinged people of the right, "race realists" according to which I, a light skinned, brown straight haired (with red reflexes no less) descendant of normans and a square faced man am an arab and an african; and to leftists according to which losing seats in every region and losing the presidency of one of their regional strongholds is a victory.
What do you expect by bringing up that there is far right propaganda? A quick read of newspapers is enough to see there is bias in left wing newspapers, why am I supposed to ignore leftist fantasies because there are some unhinged guys in the far right? That's exactly what I'm complaining about, one can't bring up a more nuanced argument because some nuts are claiming that the earth is flat.
Won't deny that people live in bubbles, in my opinion though, people are the ones that choose to continue consuming certain kinds of media. The real evolution though, is actually not in public platforms, you should look at the "mother text groups", if you wanted to look at the worst disinformation, you should look at them.
Also it's hilarious to see people interacting there, 4chan is mild compared to that.
