Well, it’s fresh news, people are curious about it and as far as I know, Google algorhythm works as, most clicked search results stay on top (your own search history is also a parameter), so right after such a scandal, such results are not a big surprise. It’s not like there is an office in Google called ministry of propaganda and they decide which sites will be on top. In exceptional situations, they may remove a site from results but as far as I know, that’s rare.

It's not a surprise for me, it is exactly what I was expecting - anti-Trump propaganda.
In a normal world, one would want to have a proper tool then find if Trump's claim is a) scandalous, b) true, c) what context, but every search gives top results as a), and of course no further arguments about why.

Dude, I just told you why. Since when did you last google Hitler’s good deeds, people who search for it recently, usually do it to check the Trump related news, naturally, that’s what they click, so that stays on top. It’s a user-based mechanism, not a top to bottom editing process.

Another generic, mindless rant from fred. Somehow, when he feels like it, “we always argue about everything and never see eye to eye on anything” but then we somehow “always think the same about everything.” Of course, in fredland, the latter means agreeing on not take his conspiracy lunacy seriously.

That’s what I guessed. But apart from the fact that it’s like calling a husband who beats his wife relentlessly “a good provider,” the economic recovery itself had a lot to do with infrastructural potential rathen than Hitler’s choices.
Think of it like this, central Europen powers such as Germany and Italy got into the “nation-state game” too late, the 1870’s. By that time they were already behind in the colonial game. They wanted their piece of the pie. This led to WW1. Now, during that time, especially Germany was a rising power, yet it had no colonial muscle like Britain or France. And when it got defeated in the first war, the victorians condemned it to conditions so hard, it was not going to hold. Cant remember his name right now, but after the peace treaty, a French general famously says “this is not a peace treaty, this is a 20 year armistice.” Sounds almost like a prophecy, since he was only off by one year, what he meant was, the conditions they forced Germany into was so unapplicable in the long term, that one way or another, the confrontation would repeat itself.
Hitler used that in terms of populism. Rather than economoic recovery, his early success lies in the fact that he told the nation what they desperately wanted to hear, that they were a superior nation, that they deserved to rule the Lebensraum, that this was their destiny. The economic recovery would have come anyway, with or without Hitler, since the country already had the potential, the manpower, the industry, the work ethics. So it would be an extremely flawed analysis to address that to Hitler. That’s macro dynamics. China will rise, not because of things Mao did right. Because China is China.
But Hitler was really mindless in the sense that he was a true-believer in an epical sense. He dared anything, he knew no moral limits, he burned the Reichstag, blamed it on the communists, hanged them. He cleaned house when his own SA officers confronted him in a split second. He killed anyone standing in the way of his fantasy. The examples are endless, dont have too much time right now. Had it not been him but a more rational and balanced man who was in charge, the palliative recovery wouldnt result in a yet another ruin, this time putting a stigma on the country, that John Kelly needed to remind Trump.
Also, keep in mind the context, a history of economics professor saying something like “Hitler did some good in terms of economy” and a president, constantly being accused of overreaching his authority in a democratic state, saying the same thing isnt the same. It’s politics 101 and of course it would be news.

Kelly ran for public relations. Erdogan too, as an authoritive figure, made the mistake of saying something like, “Hitler did this too, it had good impact” once. Of course, they roasted him. In politics, your position is part of the context. Authoritarian leaders shouldnt be mumbling about how Hitler wasnt completely bad.
