Wow! This is, without a doubt, the most stunning HoMM mod I’ve ever seen. Congratulations on creating such an exceptional masterpiece!

Grotto? Either that was revealed or speculated in this video or I'd missed something earlier, but it seems we might now know the names of all three towns.

Do the Dark Elf units have Displacer Beast?

Thanks for those news again!
We already have had a look at the townscreen, but in this picture with a correct color sceme it looks just beautiful. The mix between the different elements in color and style…I just want to try it out. I‘m also looking forward to the complete unit lineup.
Just a short question at the end. Of course you are planning some graphical updates. Will there be a support for a fullscreen townscreen with a high resolution? That is a small detail I‘m missing while playing the HD Mo. I don‘t know id it is even easy or possible of if I am just to stupid and it is already possible with HD mod

I suspect that there isn't so much a Dark Elf town as a town with a Dark Elf unit, but that aside a couerl-like has the disadvantage of being a blatant D&D-ism, though on the flip side that's definitely not something H3 itself was averse to (just look at the Evil Eyes), and there is something appropriate to the science-fantasy background of Might and Magic of having a fantasy creature that ultimately came from a science fiction story.

I think H3 was not only "not averse" to D&Disms, it is literally comprised mostly of those. I'm not even sure how they got away with all that legally.

There wasn't anything else quite as explicit as the Evil Eyes - other D&Disms were more details, in that in a general description they'd be things that had been floating around in other fantasy well before 1999 or had too clear mythological basis (hence not being deemed Product Identity when D&D started doing that), or in the case of the Gorgon being a metal-scaled bull with deadly breath has a very clear 17th century literary precedent.

As the times had changed, old DnDisms aren't anything like referencing it today.

@mitsche91
Apologies for not replying earlier. These days have been and are very busy.
It's funny that you mention that, because just one day before your post, I talked with the programmers about it, and they were inclined to implement that. Personally, a major turn off for me when playing at higher resolutions are the minuscule town screen and combat, so this is a nice change for me.
@LordInsane
Fun fact, but the short sci-fi story "Black Destroyer" is the one to actually feature the "Coeurl", originally.
Otherwise, a little PSA: The second campaign for the HoMM3 boardgame is now on! Stronghold, Conflux and the Cove are ready to make it on the players' tables!*
*On their delivery next year.

Indeed, that - and by extension Voyage of the Space Beagle - was what I was alluding to with "ultimately came from a science fiction story". Fantasy creature, in that Displacer Beasts are a long-running D&D creature and are very likely familiar to a wider audience through that, but still based on a sci-fi creature from van Vogt's pen.
