There might have been some time since last update, but we assure you that things are going forward at a decent pace. Today we decided to shed some more light on the town walls for adventure map, some of which you might have seen in our New Year Teaser. As you can see we plan to extend the mapmaking palette not exclusively with objects presenting new mechanics possible in DoR. We are also developing assets to enhance decorative aspects of the map too, with town walls focusing on bringing more of the faction architecture and aesthetic into the maps.
There is also another new object in the screen. What does it do? Maybe asking the present heroes what they have been doing before Restoration of Erathia could give you some clues.

Nice. I like the conflux walls.

On the other hand, the tent could use a little more contrast to fit better wt the rest of the elements (if you notice, default elements use a deeper, pixel-precise shadow. This is also evident on the very walls you made, hough that is probablu relted to copy-pasted elements. Regardles, the point stands.)

i was wondering when someone was going to do a more professional undertaking with walls. i could only do so much, as an amateur.

Don't sell yourself so short man. Sure, Trith and others are 3D magicians, and they've spent a good many years to attain such proficiency. But still, there are some rough edges, as NimoStar pointed out, and I'm sure you or Grossmaster (of WoG Graphics Fix assets) could polish this tent in a cinch and make it blend perfectly into H3 landscape.

The tent is actually animated, if you're talking about the entrance/interior. It definitely does look a bit odd when static, yes.
As for the walls, they're not copy-pasted, everything is done in 3D from scratch, and that is simply how such cylindrical structures are shaded at H3's light angle.

Thank you too! By the way, I've been meaning to do it for a while, and since (as far as I know) you don't directly log into your HC account, I sent you a HCM.
And yeah, as Andruids said, don't sell yourself so short, you're amazing at H3 content too (such as mapmaking; those maps of yours look gorgeous).

I tand corrected about the walls then, but te tent definitely has a less defined shader. it's not only about the angle but also things about light intensity and contrast. If you put it over another H3 building you will notice that the tent has an overall higher alpha. it also seems to have perspective instead of being sometric-flat (notice how in the sawmill the lines never converge, they just go parallel into the distance. In the same way the guild roof is a perfect oval even while looking from the front up, which the tent doesn't give off this. Even compare with the forest trees and the way the darker green trees are nearly black. In short there are many aspects of this even if perspective was fine, from renderer settings to lights to materials and textures to post-processing of the resulting image.If you compare the guild shadow (wich is also cylindrical) it looks darker, there is higher contrast. In the same way both the guild interior and the sawmill interior are darker than the tent interior. With just taking the result and tinkering with the exposure you could gain better reslts. Just my two cents as I have imported lots of map objects to many games.

I wonder what the circus tent will do, mechanically? Had it been just Fiona and Shiva, the obvious guess would have been something to do with animal training, but strong-man and tricks with fire makes for a broader range.

now that i'm viewing it on a computer instead of my phone, i can see it more clearly. the tent needs more shadow added to it for depth/assimilation into H3; and a slightly higher contrast(afterward, decrease the saturation to match what you increased in contrast, to retain your color). i haven't done any modding work for months now; i've been busy with college.

i'll log in after this post, but you should know that i don't really have the time to do any serious work. i'm currently in college, and the assignments take up the bulk of my time.

as for the walls, i would darken them a hair, and drop their contrast down just a hair as well, to blend better with the H3 environment. they look fantastic, though.

i'm glad you enjoy the maps; i put a lot into them.

I would like also that this mod adds new water objects, since it will be presumably losing the ones from HotA, and the default assortment of water objects is disappointing to say the least *

* New icebergs don't count something with functionality

Many default objects don't work when placed in water, do you think that can be fixed?

This town is the art style that Heroes 3 is lacking. If your requirement for a new content is to be mentioned in 'lore', then it is rather limiting.

oh my gods! Guys you did it! Waht a great job, I was expect something like this level, you all now a true Heroes (welcome to tavern ) this is soo good, that worthy to be mentioned by all heroes 3 community around the world (especially for the work you did) I know.
