It seems that te Vori come from overseas, correct me if I'm wrong

So we should see seagoing stuff.

It seemed more like the other direction from the trailer, people going overseas to the island of Vori - but of course that too requires seagoing (and the trailer did show a new non-glacier water object).

Appreciate the effort everyone is putting into this and excited to give it a try when available. Thought of some different questions below

1. Has the team identified the MVP? General consensus to what main material will be in the initial release?
2. With Vori being a key driving fraction, should we expect a general magic balance and/or new capabilities?
3. Will there be any new battle mechanics?
4. Will there be neutral level 7 creatures added? A rival to the Dragons in the new land? Crusader, Templar & Friends?
5. Will any fraction affect sight or movement of the board? How necro has cover of darkness? A light or storm based sight that blinds the area?
6. Is there any plan to better utilize the dig function? Perhaps an alternate grail function?
7. The best new water effects?
8. Will market of time be utilized?
9. Should we expect to see odd features like stables upgrading cavaliers utilized in other ways? Sharing of a hidden function?
10. Are users able to flag more objects? Such as windmills? Looks like we have ones for attack/magic/etc so far revealed
11. Will any fraction offer a skeleton, demon harvesting, etc type of game play?
12. HOTA seems to draw a lot of inspiration from HOMM2, should we expect more of that? or is there inspiration drawn from the other entries? HOMM4? I know it's lore centric
13. Is there thought into re-balance or utilization of artifacts? Such as the two campaign items? Repurpose of eagle eye artifacts? General count of how many new ones will be added or considered?
14. Are any further boundaries able to be pushed with the map editor and/or size of maps? AI over 200%? A third layer outside of surface and underground?
15. Are there any new capabilities with terrains? Maybe one where the zone gradually increases in movement costs as lured towards town. A magical terrain that loses small % of troops?
16. Any insight into what the team is most proud of? Something that is hard to keep from the masses? Maybe something a member did that stood out recently?
17. Any QoL improvement that stands above the rest?
18. Is the idea to release a campaign with each fraction? or an initial campaign with others to follow? Sounds like Enhroth will survive in some way and instead of fractions coming together afterwards...new ones who aided in the survival will be revealed
19. Will there be an open interface to adjust certain skill/artifact editing?
20. Any hints at a roadmap to V1?

A few random ideas that I was thinking of, some could be totally impossible or not worth the effort. Just food for thought as nobody wants to stray far from what makes HOMM3 so great.

A feature that would allow you to favorite a select few spells per hero and let them display outside of the spell book on the battle interface
A feature centered around a second grail
(1) Enables after the primary one has been dug up and utilized
(2) User who enables primary one cannot dig up secondary one (team restricted?)
(3) Lesser reward for secondary one - same structure utilized
(4) Maybe is only enabled if other users have <= certain percentage of obelisks found
A feature similar to obelisk/grail dig for water navigating that leads to a treasure. You could use current asset in shipwrecks and instead treat them as "loot map pieces/shipwreck notes" that reveal a treasure map. The treasure map is tied to difficulty, map sized, etc (or whatever grail is) to offer rare artifact(s). Something like cryptography where user has to 'anchor' down into the sea for the old treasure chest.
A feature that expands on wait/defend functions. Thinking of something that allows you to wait or defend for all non-range creatures until otherwise selected. Maybe allowing user to set status on queue for future creature turns. Could be helpful during a siege or for the lazy folk in the back.
Water object similar to sanctuary that offers safe haven from water battles -- something like Paradise Haven
Vial of Dragon Blood could affect all level 7 creatures with its special properties at reduced levels
Feature or artifact that allows a hero to lend a certain amount of movement points to another for the week
Water Object similar to whirlpool (mystic hurricane/eye of the storm/etc) for temporary spell/mana loss with moving to new location
Feature that either allows users to review a summary of what occurred in the past X amount of turns or allow us to save off a brief summary on where progress was left. Really centered around returning to any in progress game and having to scan everything
We have gems and crystals as resources. Some of the rarest ones that stand out in opal, jadeite, pearl, etc could be mixed in as artifacts/creatures. We see this with Crystal Dragon/Diamond Goldem so slightly expanding on that
A feature to see what terrain effects are, right click on each including it?

It looks and sounds like this is in great hands. Everything we have seen has been quality material and the past designs from MDT lead me to believe we're in store for some awesome additions. A lot of that material, if not all, feels like it could fit into the story. Along with those QoL improvements that are seen in the single player plug-in (quick spells, etc) that seem likely to be incorporated. Courtyard, Forge, and the third fraction that was about to be revealed (Dark Elves or Grove?) should all fit well.

Sounds like a good way to get killed by an angry mob.

So, how's the Reckoning coming along? Do we have more christmas-themed creatures? Perhaps toy elves? A Ms. Claus inspired creature? Perhaps a guiant, carnivorous gift chest mimic? Perhaps a Steadfast Tin Soldier as a golem-like creature?

So you encouraged the community to ask questions  Maybe I'll get some hints.
It's about the creature line up of the Palace town. Two creatures are kind of confirmed: Nisse/Tomte (Lvl 1) and Snow Elves/High Elves. But in the Trailer there are some more which could fit in there. Possibly the White Tigers, the Ice Maidens and the kind of Yeti creature and maybe even the Jotun as Lvl 7 unit. But for the last four creatures I can only speculate. Is there something the team could/would like to tell us about these creatures currently or something more about the creature line up in general?

Of course we know there are still a lot of things to probably and there are a lot of things done already.
Could you (DoR team) let us have a small view into the process? For example is the main game ready and you are working on some minor machanics and the grafical situation at the moment or are there more things to do like adding new features (like new towns, new spells, new units...) or is there still a kind of creative process to complete?

I did notice the Creature Short playlist has three videos but only one available. Definitely interesting to get a closer look at the Snow Elf unit (wonder if you'll sneak in an "Elsen-" somewhere in connection to the Vori snow elves?).

I understand that! Here's another bone at least. Maybe when we are done, you can build a skeleton. Then there could be a little waiting but I promise, meat is on the way.

Ok, enough weirdness for now. Here's the High Elf, the upgraded version of the Snow Elf. We're still not done yet. Tomorrow we will have something new for you all to feast your eyes upon (hey, maybe that's a tenderloin, since you heard it first right here, right now).

I thought I'd address some questions that may arise about how exactly the "ranged retaliation" and "ranged first strike" abilities work. It can be a bit tricky to wrap your mind around at first (I know I had that problem lol)

Ranged Retaliation is an ability that only works against ranged attacks, meaning ones coming from shooters. If the Snow Elf stack is shot at from a distance, it will shoot back after taking damage.

Ranged First Strike is very similar, with the exception that High Elves also essentially pre-empt the enemy's ranged attack and shoot at the enemy unit before it has its own turn to fire. This can of course result in the attacking unit's death and the High Elf taking no damage whatsoever.

Both abilities only trigger when the Snow/High Elf gets shot at, and are not relevant to melee counterattacks - these work as with any other unit: the Elf stack will attack back normally after it's attacked in melee and provided the stack survives (unless the attack is by a unit that prevents retaliation, of course). The High Elf's melee counterattack is the same - it doesn't come before the enemy's melee attack, unlike the unit's ranged retaliation, which does pre-empt enemy ranged attacks.

Things get a bit more interesting if the enemy happens to have the Bow of the Sharpshooter and one of their shooter units is adjacent to the Elf - in that case they will use their ranged attack, rather than melee - meaning the Elf's ability will trigger, despite standing on an adjacent hex. This could be considered a hard-counter to the ability to shoot adjacent targets that the artifact bestows.

And in case you might be wondering, what if a High Elf shoots at an enemy High Elf? You might expect they'd be stuck in an infinite loop of trying to one-up each other and be faster than the enemy - that is fortunately not the case, since the ability only triggers for the defending unit - the targeted High Elf stack will execute its ranged counter first, then the attacker stack will fire.
