They're reddish-brown of various hues (see here for a few examples). These ones are more brightly red than the MM8 ones, though, but that might be an anticipated 'amplification for camera perspective' thing. It's definitely closer than the Infiltrator, regardless.

I was thinking the same. If you don't have a direct point of reference it's hard to tell what is different.

Yeah, I too wish for a blackie redesign, to make the blackie, well... Black.
(Wouldn't mind them dropping the jewelry either)

Weeeell, I kind of like the purple dragons, they make me think of the original Dragon unit from HoMM: A Strategic Quest. 
The jewelry is a bit off, yeah.

If the color is poorly separated on the black color like lava.. Thus pro art separates the color.. Not always succeeded, esp. EA sports like NHL jerseys, white vs white.. Today I don't know about jersey situation lol.. I asked Google AI, an answer is generally yes, black referenced D&D.. But if Olden ERA takes H4 graphics to use, strong and pure black-colored dragon has succeeded on the lava.. Thus where is H4, Olden ERA used newer version too, it doesn't belonged to.. An original H1-H4..

Ubisoft owner or old versions? Olden ERA means older version..

I kinda wish the game overall had a bit less purples, reds, and pinks, and more neutral colors. An actual black dragon would go a long way. Also wouldn’t mind one of the Schism tier7 upgrades retaining the dark blue color.

I think the lineup is good from their 4 onward. Specifically I think this version of the Minotaurs might be my favorite. I do think they could have done the aesthetics better for the dragons too but at least it is a dark dragon lol. Tier 2 and 3 are the most forgettable units. Overall the design of the town itself/town screen is very good and one of the better ones for the Dungeon in a long number of years.

Hey, at least the Onyx ladies don't look like prostitutes. 
The Pinkfiltrators, OTOH, do have a pretty bland design, but their no-retal ability ensures you never forget they exist.
