Here's a random thought, don't know if it has been brought up before:

Automatic recognition of hyperlinks!

A lot of other fora I frequent automatically recognizes a hyperlink if you simply type the address (http://blablabla.org) which is a great help in writing - and even more so for the readers! Would this be possible to implement in HC?

Actally, when we mark the text and then use Kooka's bar to insert it in a bb code tag, it clears the text and leaves tags only.

I'd like to see it making the text appear between tags, not deleting it.

Well, I removed all page-blocking stuff and nothing happens. Maybe it's Firefox isssue only, like that with unability to clear HCM messages ("Time for big boom")?

Works correctly under IE. Sorry, I launch it only to download FF.

Something to consider.  Assistant Mods.  Unable to give penalty points, but able to delete spambot threads.  When they delete one, they have to send a note to the official mods, and why it was deleted.  They would not have access to the mod forum either.  Nor would they have any other editing powers (ie they can only delete a thread, and only one with under a certain number of posts or something)

Either that or allow the Mods to be able to delete spambot posts in other forums then the ones they moderate.

Or raise the post count for creating a new thread to at least 2 posts.

Hehe, sorry spambot threads irk me

Nah, I don't think assistant mods are necessary. The FAQ said that if you do not qualify to be a mod, then you can at least help them by notifying them of such things regarding the forum.

I think to solve this problem that a Confirmation Code with registering is needed. Although I must admit that this problem isn't as bad as it was a few months ago.

A spambot thread isn't different from any other thread, if the "assistant" will be able to delete those kinds of threads s/he will also get the power to delete other threads aswell, it could cause hell lot of havoc around

I was told that spambot threads aren't deleted right away because Val needs to check the IP of the thread starter. I'll once again suggest that a "wastebin" forum is created. The mods could move spambot threads there until they have been handled. Regular members should not be able to access it and it should not show up on the main page.

Yes but we can stop spambots entirely by just creating a confirmation code while registering. If that happens, then there will be no need for creating a new forum specifically for Spam bot threads.

Why?
Just ignore them.
Most of the time it's blatantly obvious what they are and you don't even need venture into their world of cheap viagra..

Assistant mod thing is too much work for too little necessity, it's hardly worth it. And it would be much easier to obtain and as such people with the power to delete threads... in the wrong hands could be bad.
