Map Masters - winner by default
Ring and Panic mapmasters result - I ruels!
c'mon guys there must be some other players who are gonna compete in this tourney, only 3 days to go and only 1 of the 8 games played in each draw!?

For me, I only could play friday evening (CET) and saterdaymorning.
So if there's no extention I will have to forfeit.
I'm a freelancer and until end of this month I'm too busy wif an asignment.
If an extension comes I will surely play for the tourney.

Coz of a AM/PM confusion with my opponent.....we couldnt manage to finish this weekend...so there is a chance that I will have to forfeit too....(yea......I'll lose anyway   )

ill mail raven now i will forfeit my 2 matches. sorry to say that but right now im on a homm break. i need that from time to time. i was a bit overplayed. (specially too many randoms zzzzZZZZZzzz)
the only tourney that would be able to motivate me right now is the bob 2 mapmasters but there is no chance that i had fun playing a random map these days. they simply bore me to death lately.

well the main problem is that some guys still have not realised that the given deadlines are really DEADlines and not like in some other tourneys that there will be as much extensions as they want.
you dont show efford to get a game played and you miss deadline = you out.
maybe some of you remmeber the first 2 mapmaster rounds on the first 4 maps. i mailed all players who had not played their games "reminder mails" - and after they received the mails most suddenly woke up and started playing.
i stopped doing this because IMO someone who is not old enuff to keep an eye on his matchups/set deadline on his own and needs a personal reminder should not join such a tournament.
its really sad that in the first week of a deadline almost noone plays - only in the last 3-4 days all seem to remmeber that they have to play a game and then they reaslise its to late to set a time to play.

Thank you Amazon_King and Destro23. I haven't had a chance to discuss this possibility with Motorschaaf yet but I am giving it some consideration. If I decide to give players that are showing a little more interest the slots then you 2 will be the first ones in. I appreciate your enthusiasm and that of Midnight that just wants to see a good bracket. Speaking of brackets, just a small note that the one for BoB2 is now posted

Until Jarcik infromed me...i've only know for a week or so..
No offense Motor..but i guess we used to u advertising it on zone..but u not around much lately..(have a good break budd u deserve it)..now get ur German arse back here
Guess the Lemmings need a leader..I suggest a one wk extension if possible and We all do our best to get games in..
Seems not much gets played on time unless u around to kik some arse..hehe..or ahem "a friendly reminder" ..

k....here's it....becoz of the huge time difference between heroliubei and me.....we are only able to play in the weekends.......(since none of us have the oppurtunity to play in the middle of the night in the middle of the week)
So.........I see that there have been two weeks since u annonced the deadlines....but this does not include two weekends.....I'm sure there are more players out there with the same problems.....The earliest we can play now is friday....coz that's the only day I can play by 1 am.....
Nuff said...I guess u got my point now....

only 1 game from 8 played from Panic tourney so far 
that means 87.5% of games still not played!!
That is not a functioning tourney
maybe 5 or 6 games will get reported today and i'm wrong!
Ring barely scrapes through with 50% participation
There are definite problems that need to be addressed before later rounds, and new MM template based tournies.
Any suggestions for how to improve future rounds and tournies to improve participation to at least 80%?
I have a few ideas:
* 10 randoms this season requirement before being able to register. This rule would have cut out bpanik, gertva, and happy heroic who have not (so far) played either Ring or Panic games. (this accounts for 5 of the 16 games)
* less than 70% participation by deadline gets an automatic 1 week extension. In round 1, players who havent played a game can be substituted by other people in the waiting list for that extension period.
* defaulting on a round 1 game this tourney means you cannot join the next template tourney except on a waiting list. Tournies after that are back to normal. This prevents ppl from habitually joining tournies and then not playing the games. Could alternatively use a time penalty.

I have exactly the same problem with The Vinz...we started our game..but he had to leave and now we can not play until the weekend, at the earliest.

My thoughts exactly , i have joined almost all of the MM subs and have gotten 3 or 4 passes due to opponenets not showing up or just dropping from the tourney.

Midnight, you bring up a good idea. The the players who sign up but do not play in the tourney should not be allowed to sign up for the next one.

I think that is a poor idea, why deter players from experimenting in other tournies because they havent played the map? Heck i never even played Battle of Bastards yet i signed up for it because i want to. Should i not be allowed to play because i have never played the map? I think not.

I dont think this is a good idea either, deadlines are deadlines and players need to know this. This would promote a lack of responsibility of the players to actually play..knowing that if less than 70% dont play round one there will be an extension. Extensions are not good..some sort of punishment like not being allowed to participate in the next MM would be better.
Another thought comes to mind, have only one set MM and one random MM at a time going. That way players are not spread thin on the # of different games required to play.
One more thing. RECRUITS (REGARDLESS OF PAST TOH HISTORY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN ANY SUBTOURNEY!!)
One should not be able to participate in a sub-tourney if you do not even play in the main tourney.

good response ironmlh, the main thing is recognition that there is a real problem, how it is solved is here for discussion.
Free Promotion to next round:
In tennis if someone gets injured, the other player gets to continue to next round. But u dont get 80% players injured!
dunno how this would work with Panic MM. Only 1 game played in 8! This solution is not enough to fix the problem.
Extensions:
seems to be quite a few ppl who dont have enough time to finish their games. but i can imagine if we make a deadline of 3 weeks, or 4 weeks, ppl will still wait till the last minute to finish their game. Thus why i suggest a movable deadline. make a 2 week deadline that can shift by 1 week if need be. I think that this is realistic, not weak. I'd rather have 5 games finished a few days late, than a tourney cancelled. If 70% of games done, u can miss out, so cant get lazy and assume an extension.
Minimum Game Requirement:
Main idea of some prerequisite like minimum games etc. is to only allow active players in the tourney. Maybe at this stage of season, say 20 games total as minimum requirement, of any map type. I remember when divisions were running, inactive players would fill half the members. Then if 2 divisions like this play, u get approx 75% of games not being completed. I think this is part of problem here too. Saying cant be recruit, means minimum 4 games in this season, i think the cutoff needs to be much higher. There needs to be some reward for being active in TOH, and not wasting other ppl's time.
Reduced Tourneys:
Less tourneys is an idea since most players in both MM template games. I had no trouble playing my 2 games, but i guess not everyone was home sick able to play 24hrs a day!
