it has been 32 days from when i said i was thinking about uploading a new object patch, that i actually uploaded a new patch. i'm guessing most of you thought it took too long...

I am waiting for 6 nice thumbnails before updating link. Also if you use app.box.com you can update the mod without changing the link, think about, it's free and saves tons of inconveniences later.

sorry, sal, i was busy making 4 new terrains this morning. fog for grass, better dirt, green i-don't-know-what(lol), and the perfect swamp algae that i have been looking for.
i've also made briar patches for grass and swamp, and briar patches for the haunted terrain, as well as two new haunted trees based on the h2 tree of knowledge, and a redwood tree stump seer's hut.
i will get the screens done, sal, but i'm having trouble figuring the layout. i have 2 screens ready, but i'm not sure how to properly seat the rest so that even though the scenes are different, they will flow together. i have too much stuff to choose from, and how to display the best terrains in an appealing way, has got me screen-blocked. that's why i got sidetracked into the previous.

lol, so you like my nude pixie, do you? how about all the little nude fairies, nude fairy garden, and mermaids with nipples? you know, i'm not done putting nude things in the game. i've just put the creature work pretty much on hold. i'm jumping around in my work, so i don't get bored. the pixie took a lot outta me, it's one of the only projects i've ever completed, from start to finish. come to think of it, i'm not done with her yet. i just remembered that i didn't do the pixie portraits, or the avwattak animation, still. the latest creatures i have been working on is converting the h2 zombies and mutant zombies to the right sizes for h3, and re-detailing them. why nwc made those horrible h3 zombies, instead of making the h2 zombies graphically better, i'll never know. i like the h2 mummies much better than the stupid black knights, as well. what a mistake nwc made by changing that...

i'm still compiling stuff for just the fear town screen background template, it's hard trying to find the right combo of graphics. it'll get even harder when i try to find objects that blend into the screen. and the end result probably won't look anything like the rest of the h3 townscreens ever made. things might be too realistic in some parts, and the rest might not blend well into it. so far i have 3 backgrounds, 3 skies, 2 midgrounds, and (maybe) 2 foregrounds. i think i'm working backward, but if i were to draw a layout, trying to find the right graphics for THAT could be even more difficult. or, i could just flip things around, might be easier.

I throught up some proposition for this cool DEFs collection.
As long as these objects must be renamed to use as replacement for standard objects, maybe you some day release lod-file with renamed DEFs (for example for Forge), that can be loaded to change map appearance?
As you show these screens, you already have made something like this.
I'm asking, because in VCMI there is no map objects mod support yet, so replacement is only choice.

No, they don't have to be renamed. WoG editor allows changing one object ID in advanced properties, also scripts do same thing.
Once released in final form, I am sure VCMI will get its horde of modders, but for now IMHO it's a terrible waste of time to work twice harder and release mods for a platform not done yet.

The more done now is a less must be done later.
I now have time and wish for VCMI modding.
Than I only will be correcting jsons to stay compatible with currect VCMI state.
The most hard thing is to harvest DEFs and town screens. Modding itself takes miserable time, and only it depends on VCMI.
PS VCMI is open-source, so there is no final form at all. It will be changing as long as there will be developing team.
