Hunter is also fine, but if you find it too similar to Ranger, Warden would also work.

I was thinking about the names. Hunter really too much closer to ranger. Chieftain look like a tribal chief. Im a magic player, 'chieftain' for me reminds goblins. Partisan i never heard before, but searching seems like a burocratic status. Someone on politics i guess. Plainsman, again with magic.. plains walking hehe.
I liked the warden. Fits with the golem thing too extending the native hunter. Im gonna work on models yet, but for now these two fits.

It fits the primal aspect of the town and has offensive sound.

I would go for sth different, a word that doesn’t belong in English/whatever real languages, but an invented one owned by the ancestral creatures from the Ruins.

Long days im away from the topic, but bringing news. Last weeks i've been working on Hero Battle sprites.
At first i was gonna do A male/female might class, the a male/female magic class for Ruins... but.. no more
I submited for vcmi code a feature allowing each hero has a unique sprite and is working... so Gonna show my idea with 2 spoilers.
Thats how gonna be the Ruins Heroes:
Im polishing the portraits and doin the .defs for each from the 16 heroes.

I played quite a few maps with your town in the last weeks, it is great and already feels like a part of the game. Thanks for all your work! Your recent progress with heroes portraits also looks great. I have one question, though: Will you rework the townscreen in the future, eventually? I think it is the weakest part of your town right now and it is very important for the "feeling" of Heroes 3 towns.

If look on townscreen prefecture and castle on one side,this not better way. Look more on origial building i mean location

Im gonna work on painting for now, but on future i planned change some things. For now im focused on a nice and playable version.

Kelpie remade as lvl6 on new lineup. Mesh reworked, new bones.. now gonna work on animations

I really love your Heroes models but the creatures seem a little wierd - like ripped from some other game (I know you made them from scratch, I mean the style). They seem a little different from standard heroes 3.
I think part of that it's because they're slightly angled compared to the full-profile of classic Heroes 3.
(compare the kelpie to the unicorn & nightmare for the angle)
EDIT: Here a comparison:
However, there is something weird with shading/texturing as well but I can't really tell. I'm not an expert on heroes 3 modelling. Try contacting the VCMI design team.

Yeah, they not ripped, but the '.gif' format make a lower quality preview.
I decrease texture influence and changed a little bit the camera, but about the back angle: thats a horse-alike creature, but dont need be equal to unicorn/nightmare body. See the angle on centaur.
