Depp's movies are usually at the very least decent, so I'm sure it will be good. The new Chocolate Factory movie was... interesting, as expected.
I think the possible 4th Pirates movie has more potential without Will & Elizabeth. Their love story was nice in the 1st one, but myself and other people I've talked to agree that it got kind of drug out and old by the 3rd one. Plus there were arguably too many characters in the 3rd one to the point that the movie seemed kind of crowded, so I think cutting down on the cast will be a good thing.

Quote: I am ashamed to admit I did not yet watch the new chocolate factory I should watch the original again sometime, loved it as a kid.
Go look it up asap. It's amazing! One of the most underrated movies in newer times, Depp plays incredible, as does all the kids. Visuals are spectacular also, pure pleasure.

I'm not sure, but I think I saw the original chocolate factory, and the remake with johnny depp. both were good.
I saw the 1st transformers, imo, it was average...
recently I saw the original king kong for the 1st time. I prefer the remake, the special effects are (obviously) much better, but I suppose the movie must have been impressive when it got released for the 1st time. the remake is one of the best movies I've seen.
I saw the original planet of the apes a few days ago also. I remember I saw the remake also, I don't remember it very well, but I think it was less good than the original. the original is very good. at 1st, when I realised the monkeys could speak english, I thought, "how could they make such a stupid mistake?" but in the end it was perfectly logical.

The latest planet of the apes was rather sucky. I suppose watchable but could have been better.

It seems like they've based the movie on Disney's mix of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the sequel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There :/
That means there'll only be one movie, and a lot of scenes from the original book will be cut out

Alc you were absolutely right, the chocolate factory was pure enjoyment The theme is amazing - you can feel Tim Burton's touch, Depp is brilliant as always and the Oompa-Loompa theatrics were hilarious to watch

Gotta agree with Mytical here. I absolutely disliked the new Charlie and the Chocolate factory. I like the original one better but even that is pretty weird. lol

@William the Star Trek movie was suprisingly decent.
Wanted was an interesting if kinda messed up movie, little predictable for me.
Taken was a 8.5/10 for me. It was interesting, intense, and with a 'action hero' that normally would have seemed unlikely. There were some parts that just seemed too convienient or it would have gotten a 10/10.

Quote: I am a bit hesitant in that it looks like they are milking the franchise but as long as Depp is in it can't go wrong
They've been milking the franchise since part II (which was of course wide behind the quality of the first one) and well III was milking it way too hard... and now they want to do a 4th oO? I say let them R.I.P...
And as great as Jack Sparrow and his alter ego Johnny Depp he can't rescue a whole movie.

Glad someone's with me. I thought it was amazing. And the squirrel scene - that's so fantastic! "Daddy, I wan't a squirrel!"
And the TV chocolate reference to 2001, A Space Odesy ... brilliant.
And yes, Alice looks to be amazing from those shots. Release slated to 2010, though, so'll have to be patient.

I probably would have liked it had I never seen the original when I was growing up. Gene Wilder was just TOO good in this movie, he fit the part a little too well.

I had and liked it but don't make the mistake to confuse the two movies, each director has a different vision. I know that the newer one was closer to the book than the original but didn't have the time to check a synopsis and in the end it doesn't matter It is an enjoyable movie in its own right.
As for Gene Wilder I have seen so many good movies with him, amazing guy
