Hitler = Aids?
Tonight on the News I heard about a German Anti-Aids Campaign, featuring Hitler having sex with a woman. Here you can find an Article about it, with the clip itself.
The Clips slogans reads: "Aids is a Mass Murderer. Protect yourself"
The Jewish Community already reacted to it though, and, suprise-suprise, they aren't really happy?
So, what do you think? Do the Jews over-react. Is it Ethical to feature Mass Murderers in disease clips? Religious people are free to express their oppinions, IF they don't turn this thread in a Bible Deathmatch.
Personally, I find it a shocking vid, but it seems very effective to me - perhaps exactly what people need to let the message sink in.

Good point, I understand why it's a touchy subject, but I think it's a catch that works. I don't really see this glorifying Hitler in any way, quite the contrary, and as such I don't really have a problem with it.

Well, I think the people who did it didn't have any wrong intentions, nor is there anything horribly offensive, unless the jewish communities suddenly want to deny the holocaust, which is funny to me. 
On the other hand I find it a tad tasteless and a bit overblown. Nothing punishable and really it's about time we should be able to laugh with AIDS and hitler, but I'd more expect it from south park than those goody-goody organisations. KNOW your audience, people!

The problem has nothing to do with religion, Hitler or Stalin, but the fact that what is illustrated is the person who has the disease who's the problem (it's after all him who's having sex on the video who's illustrated, and also he who's assumed to be Hitler).
So in stead of dealing with the real problem, the disease, they're making it seem like the people with HIV are the problem, and that's in my honest opinion not very good.
So I find the commercial of poor quality, however I do believe the authors had good intentions of course.

How magnanimous of you to give religious people permission to speak.
No, I don't think they are overreacting. The commercial is in very poor taste. Whoever is in charge of the "campaign" will likely get canned but he may get by with an apology. The longer he waits to apologize the bigger the scandal.

I dont understand whats so wrong with the commercial. Okay so you cant joke about Hitler and nazis in countries that participated in WW2? Well, Sweden was smart enough to be neutral so I dont know.

From a marketing perspective, it doesn't seem like an effective ad. Other than that, I don't care.
Yes, they overreacted. Yes, the figurehead behind the ad will probably have to apologize for the non-existent offense that they committed.

Well it was different during those times.
Shoot even in 1969, they expressed themselves in love & sex.
I dont think people really looked at it until after.
Like smoking back in those times. Even doctors thought it would not kill you.
People just did not know about it.

Is Israel forced to show this campaign? Is the campaign done for the purpose of shocking Israel? I guess not.
The jews should stop think that the whole world gives a s*** about what they think and the whole world should change its perceptions and behaviors for ever because of the Holocaust. Actually the extremely generous attitude towards Israel in the last 50 years should be in the balance more than a possible disputable Aids campaign. Ever hear a "thanks" or "we respect the others opinions"?
Israel shows everyday that he does not care about what other countries think (except USA = money everyday free-gift purpose), so why would we react differently?

And actually Hitler was a very likable person, both on stage and personally. The best dictators always are. Bonaparte was the same way. Charisma =/= ethical.
And you can't be racist towards an individual. Individualism is the opposite of racism

Doesn't matter how likable he was or charismatic but what history remembers of his acts. Today Hitler is an emblematic figure of the incarnated evil, ignorance, homophobia, mass manipulation and destruction. Pretty enough to choose him as principal character in an AIDS campaign, no?
