The Abyssal Worm comes from one of the Inferno city unique building. While you fight in the Control Area of a city with this building, an Abyssal Worm will randomly swallow creatures from the enemy's ranks every turn and weaken them. The enemy can kill the worms to free the swallowed creatures.

What I don't get is why they felt the need to include the "a/an" part.
Couldn't they have used variables to declare whether it's a singular Fury or a whole bunch of them?
It's not consistent either, since it ends with "swallowed creature".
Nitpicky, I know....
Um...
A fury...
An furies...

Consonants vs Vowels.
(not singular vs plural...)
Fury starts with an F. A Fury.

Well in the Beta we only have 3 campaign maps and 1 skirmish map.
So the thing is, in the campaign maps the neutral and all other units can be mixed. For example you can very well face both Air Elementals and Water Elemantals at the same time.
However on the Skirmish map, there are no stacks on the map that is this way.
Though I hope and believe that this will be different when the game comes, or that it's different for different maps...

Spells food for thought:
Puppet Master (darkness) - Nice that it's like Frenzy from H5 where it works for 2 turns. If the victim takes damage, the spell is dispelled....does this include retaliations from stacks when you use this victim to attack?
Petrifictation (earth) - Lovely! Glad they made a spell like this! Wonder if Guardian Angel is more effective for Haven than this spell?
Terror (darkness) - Cool! Very important to stop turns of enemy stack as we have rounds now....
Time Stasis (prime)- Like Terror above but lasts for more turns! hectic!
Retribution Aura III (light) - WOW! Phew, is this not too overpowered? A friendly stack receiving damage gives a portion back to all enemy stacks (not including the retaliation)

The puppet master in Heroes V was an interesting form. The heroes IV one was to owerpowerd. No that the heroes V was not, but it was not that much.
So could someone exactly describe its function in Heroes VI

Dunno, pretty hard to level that far and I think the spell is broken at the moment anyway.

As far as I can tell, only the launcher has been patched. The game version seems to be the same. It's quite disappointing really, We should've had at least two patches until now.

I think their approach for the public beta is not to give them insights into balancing, which I guess that they knew it was pretty screwed in this build, but to have an insight on how the people feel in general about the game. So, I doubt that they will patch it so that we can properly test the balance. To my knowledge, Ubisoft is not the company to invest money in several patches in the public beta phase so that at the time of release the game balance is decent. Probably we will reach a good version of the game with the first, or more likely, the second expansion.

@odium: I'm not too sure, Ubisoft would have learned from H5 to create a good game upfront and not only on expansion no.2. but let's wait and see.
Well done to the artwork winners, my favorite is the slain Kirin being taken away....

Ubisoft learning from the past ? Good joke ! No, really !
It's safe to say that the H6 beta is far worse than the H5 one and that was hard

I'm not talking about the beta, I'm talking about the actual game when it gets released.....nonetheless, to have a worse beta might be a blessing in disguise...sometimes you need to fail badly in order to jump ahead in leaps and bounds
Gating: So, very different from H5 which is cool. You can only gate one creature at a time (ie. creatures don't gate themselves)...just want to ask, the higher the bar, the higher tier creature you can gate? (ie. need a full bar for Champion gating)

No. You get to Gate the Champion when you reach level 3 of the skill, no matter how full the gauge is. The latter seems to be related to the amount of creatures that you can Gate from the tier that is allowed to be Gated at certain level of the hero.

Well Gating is very cool indeed, now you need to apply a more strategic approach to gating. You have to decide whether to gate a stack early (with low troop count) or be patient and wait a while for the bar to fill up and gate more troops....all depends what you are fighting and other factors....well done Ubihole.
When you gate a stack can you decide where to place it on the battlefield?

Yes, you can.
The gate will have the same size than the creature (so a Cerberus gate will be 2x2 squares for example) and it gets destroyed with one single hit. You can't use the gate to block shooters, but you can use it as a cover.
