I nominate Gorman for a second QP in LHW. His character is far more dynamic then before and his recent posts have been quite interesting. I would also nominate MM and Asmo as well but they are mods.

I just wanted let everyone know about the awards ceremony going on in Glade Tavern. It's for the past summer and I've added a few categories. I hope everyone checks it out, since people don't seem to be noticing it much.

Woah. DS is mod around here. Congrats.
Well if you are mod. I must stress greatly that you should read Height of the Guild. There have been proposals for Gorman to get a QP. I think some other members could get a QP as well like Titanium or really anyone. The posting in that thread is superb.

Hey all
So, I'm new here and I have a few questions
1) Where do RPs generaly take place 'round here?
2) If I made my own map for a place I wanted to set an RP in, and gave sufficiant thought to what would happen in said "World", how would that work out [Opinions]
3)Are Fantasy RPs here widely accepted[ I know its a HOMM board but I want to be sure]
4){for Bone_Dragon} WHat is the OoC; I know something called that, I wonder if you could share so I know if mine is differant?

You will see a number of threads iwth titles, and then a twin thread with the title and -OOC. Those are the RPs.
Here are some of the RPs that you might be interested in joining (and that are not pretty much dead)
The Axis (still going, but only just)
Height of the Guild (just warming up)
Lets Have War (running well as always)
Dread Pirates Saga (dying)
The End???? (not sure, i think still running)
War of the Dead (dying)
Trials: Lord of Tanaran (dunno, dont think it took off to well)

I would hope that it works out well, but im not sure! You would definately get a few people, and if it offers a lot of creativity and freedom of the writer, then it will work out really well. if you have planned it for a while, it will most likely be good, im looking forward to it

Concerning Q #1
I meant like where does the story take place? Future? Past? Fantasy?[If fantasy, any prebased worlds that people favour?] (I.E. does anyone set their stories in HOMM?)

Generally if you read the first post in the thread it will give what premise the world is based on, or a map.
For example the Axis takes place on a huge inter-galactic space staion, whereas Let's Have War takes place in a (semingly) sparsely populated country.
There aren't any roleplays based in HOMMland but we use a lot of the concepts from the game in our RP's (magic spells, creatures that may appear etc.)
But the best thing to do is just READ them and see the style for yourself

I nominate Shadowcaster's thread for a QP. I think it's a great idea to have an idea of what these characters look like. And what a great tool to use. Easy to use, so anyone can do it.

I guess I'm feelin like this place is losing its inspiration. People post now to keep the threads alive, other than Tanaran which seems to be coming along nicely. I don't feel the excitement anymore. Anyone know what the deal is? It used to be so inspiring last spring before the crash. I think we need some mods getting involved a bit more with the threads and the members. Look at Tanaran. Took off immediately. Nice job on that DS. I'll get to posting when things for me calm down a bit.
Anyways, I feel like this forum deserves more credit then it's getting. For nearly a month members were putting tons of effort into Height of the Guild and 1 QP was given, which was well-deserved, but I've seen a number of recent threads that deserve are more than beneficial to the forum.
More than just great writing deserves a QP. Anything that a members does that is considerably helpful to the forum deserves a QP.
Shadowcasters Faces Revealed deserves a QP. It's been used for characters in every thread.
I guess my complaint is that not enough things are getting the credit it deserves.
The main reason I wanted to keep the member awards going was to show all the ways to help RPs. Simply the member that collaborates with everyone, keeps people involved, deserves a QP. This is essentially the way I tried to moderate Glade. It's the at the minimum keep the forum lively and successful. At most it's setting an example that others follow. If you have everyone acting like this, then you really have nothing to do except fill in the holes here and there. And that's what I did.
Basically it seems like people haven't been doing this. I haven't been either, because I was spending my writing time playing World of Warcraft.
Well just thought I would drop this little message to everyone.
I really like the initiative that Dragon Slayer put into Tanaran. This is the leadership that we need in Glade. I think we need some more leadership in LHW and Height of the Guild as well. Basically anyone who is a leader like this should get a QP.
I honestly thought that Titanium Alloy should have gotten a QP in HotG. He'd have been the first I'd have chosen despite other members being better overall writers. He's improved greatly and really did take initiative to get others involved. Thus the posting between Gorman and Titanium went off like a bullet.
I guess I will apologize to Korejora now that the thought has come to me, so I don't forget. I guess I was trying to do this for you. Trying to get you more involved. I just did it in a way not knowing it wasn't what you wanted and then proceeded to push the issue to all ends. Then after yet another misunderstanding. Yeah we all know what happened there. Ahem. I apologize for that too.
I guess I crossed the line there from being a leader to controlling the thread. My bad. So yeah we still need some more leadership. And you don't have to be a mod or a well-experienced member or the best writer in the world to be a leader. Being a leader doesn't mean directing the thread to what you want, because you think the idea is really cool. Being a leader is getting people together and coming up with ideas that EVERYONE wants. Again my bad Korejora. It's collaborating with one-another. It's giving credit to those that deserve it.
Anyone who does this should get a QP.
I also think that we should have a new award that deserves a QP no matter what unless there are like no nominees worth nominating.
Leader of the Month. It should be given every month. And should be given a QP with almost no exceptions. Any leadership at all is helpful. Because RPs although very much fun, very much like a game. They are also like a project, a project which can go really slow and monotonous and boring because no one is interested, which basically leads very quickly to an inactive or dead thread. Or the RP can go at a very fast pace because everyone is completely absorbed by it and having loads of fun.
I don't think there's enough insentives to post right now. It's part of the reason I gave so many QPs. It was an easy solution to giving insentives for posting.
I guess finally I think I should point out a few threads that really deserve QPs. Tanaran. That gets an honorary QP.
Titanium Alloy in HotG, which I already explained. Gorman in HotG. If I didn't decide to take Calhoun etc. blah blah blah we'd have posted like 20 times since then by now. Basically he initiated much of what would've happened next.
Shadowcaster for his Faces Revealed thread.
Another thing that I would really like to see is more effort put into our non RP threads. This would mean that mods would have to give QPs in non RP threads, which simply hasn't happened. I think I may have given one in the Truth or Dare thread to Asmodean, but that's it. We shouldn't limit our good posting to just RP threads.

I agree RSF, there are many posts that deserve qp's. Sorry i havent been reading as much as i should. I have had exams so things have been hectic. I think Mighty Mage would be a better guy to monitor LHW. He has been a part of it alot longer than me and knows who deserves credit.
