Ontario just re-illeagalized possesion of small amounts of pot for recreational use.

I voted maybe. And I agree with Saruman. If marijuana is illegal, so should nicottine . Nicottine is not only hazardous to the consumer's health, but it's also dangerous for everybody around the smoker. I don't smoke and everytime a sit around smokers my eyes get red and sting and my throat hurts.

Who says marijauna is harmless? It slows your reaction time! Messes with you mind, that's bad. It should stay illegal, and there should be higher taxes on tobacco. Who gives them the right to poison the air I breathe?

Isn't it already legal for medical purposes in the US and Canada? I think it's even legal to grow it for this purpose.

Don't know about Canada, but what's happening in the US is that certain states are legalizing marijuana for medical use. However, it's still illegal under federal law, and federal law trumps state law.

yesums.. we could collect fines for ppl breaking the MJ laws. We could make fines ($100) for having a license to buy, and a $20 anual reevauluation fee.
factors which would make someone not eligible are- being criminals, having kids not doing well, being unemployed (or no source of legit income), and a few other factors.
this would put drug lords back, and quite possibly help get rid of coke, heroine, lsd, ect.. Cuz drug laws would be way increased, and ppl simply under an influence would get jail/rehab time, and to deal would be massive jail time.
put on commercials saying "getting rid of drugs, you will go to jail if you use. You will be slammered if you deal" this is also with my idea to make prisioners more useful.
(1 example, sentancing prisoners to 800 work hours, estimted 120 days, the job is seperating garbage into resource centers, and cleaning it. Any coruption or laziness between inmates result in lost work hours for the day, and perhaps more punishment) these are class C prisioners. Who are trusted enough to not kill eachother because they all just want to get the job done and go home.

how stupid is it to poison your body so you can feel good for about 2 minutes?! I voted no. Legealizing any drug that will kill you if you take it is a REALLY bad idea.

There are more alcohol related deaths than drug deaths put together. Alcohol is worse for your body, than pot is.
You manufacture your poision, ill drink some, but manufacturing natrual plants is more ethical.
so if you want drug lords to have the cash, from somethin unstoppable, just say no to legalize. and c oke, lsd ect are stopable to a nice degree

But how many people spend like 3 hours drinking to feel good for the rest of the night and wake up with a hangover the next day? I mean excess drinking causes liver cancer. There are a lot of things out there that are harmfull for you if you use to much. I mean is there anything that won't hurt you if you have too much??? I don't smoke and I don't like to hang out in places were too many smokers gather because it bugs my eyes also, but good luck getting it banned altogether. It is weird how they make the laws though....eg..
1. Driving while drunk...illeagel
2. Beating your kids...illeagel
3. Smoking or drinking while pregnent or with kids living in the house...fine
I mean how many of those comercials against smoking have they made. I like the one where I think they had like 200 people I think go to a tobaco company with numbers on there front and back then they all just fall down and play dead while one guy holds up a sign that says "Tobaco causes 200 deaths a day. Ever think about taking a day off?". Not sure if it was only 200 though.
Anyway my vote is obviously NO they shouldn't leagalize Marajuana.

Although I voted against legalization of the drug, and personally hate all narcotics (as well as nicotine), something has to be said here. One of the main arguments for the legalization of marijuana is that in contrast to other drugs, it is really not all that deadly/dangerous/addictive - only a bit stronger than regular nicotine. And it poisions the body just about the same as nicotine. And as for killing you, cigaretts and alcohol are just as deadly.

Even those can be dangerous if you don't follow your doctors directions carefully.
Here in Toronto I heard on the news that there is a mother somewhere who might be charged with the murder of her child because she gave her child a fatal overdose of Tylonol or Aspirin. Don't know if it was intentional or not though. Though I certainly hope it was an accident.

marijuana doesn`t kill you.noone has ever died of it.it is not healthy but it is healthier than cigaretes. it should be legal. if someone wants to smoke,why shouldn`t he? because it is bad for health? not nearly as bad as they say. but it is true that if you have some sort of mental disturbances it is better,if you don`t smoke it. if you smoke a lot (but really a lot), you can get throat cancer. but there are other ways to consume cannabis...you can use a water bong.smoke is drawn through water after traveling down a stem. the smoke is cooled, making it less harsh on the mouth, throat, and lungs.you can vaporize it. a vaporizer heats up marijuana to boiling temperatures and the THC vaporizes. This is a good way to reduce several carcinogens while consuming marijuana. but it is not so popular because not many people own a vaporizer. and you can also eat it. you can make tea, brownies, butter, ice cream,... whatever you like...
