I have a Morning Star and a sling. I will use my morning star. If anyone gets low on HP I'll heal them immediately. I have cure light wounds memorized 3 times.

We only need Vadskye to reply. If he doesn't reply soon. I'll assume his primary weapon will be the Long Bow and he'll use the Short Sword if attacked in melee. This is probably the case anyway.

I'll use my longbow and switch to my short sword in close combat, just like you said.

Here's a list of each players Thac0 and armor class. The primary weapon will be in bold. I have changed my name to Maximus for a better name in this thread.
Maximus:
HP: 13/13
Armor Class: 3
Morning Star Thac0/Damage: 19/2d4+1
Sling Thac0/Damage: 18/1d6
Mordikai:
HP: 15/15
Armor Class: 4
Long Sword Thac0/Damage: 19/1d8+1
Dart Thac0/Damage: 18/1d3
Isildur:
HP: 17/17
Armor Class: 6
Long Bow Thac0/Damage: 19/1d6+2
Erion Vadskye:
HP: 11/11
Armor Class: 0
Long Bow Thac0/Damage: 18/1d6+1
Short Sword Thac0/Damage: 20/1d6
Athimus Phaeni:
HP: 18/18
Armor Class: 6
Dwarven Axe Thac0/Damage: 16/2d4+3
Goblin(1):
HP: 10
Armor Class: 6
Short Sword Thac0/Damage: 20/1d6
Goblin(2):
HP: 10
Armor Class: 6
Short Sword Thac0/Damage: 20
At this point the goblins are at a distance. So the melee fighters will defend while the ranged attackers snipe them down. Maximus and Mordikai have secondary missile weapons and will use those until the enemy has engaged them. Note: Because Athimus has 3 proficiency points with the axe, he gets an extra attack per 2 rounds.
Round 1:
Isildur, Vadskye, Maximus, and Mordikai attack Goblin(1).
Maximus, Athimus, and Mordikai defend infront of Isildur and Vadskye.
Goblins attack Maximus.
Isildur -> Goblin(1): Hit(16) - 6 damage.
Vadskye -> Goblin(1): Miss(9).
Maximus -> Goblin(1): Miss(11).
Mordikai -> Goblin(1): Hit(17) - 2 damage.
Goblins reach Maximus.
Maximus and Mordikai attack Goblin(2) with primary melee weapons.
Athimus attacks Goblin(1).
Round 2:
Goblin(1) -> Maximus: Miss(3)
Goblin(2) -> Maximus: Hit(17) - 6 damage.
Isildur -> Goblin!1): Critical Hit(20) - 16 damage. Goblin dies. What a waste to get a critical hit...
Party gains 150 exp.
Athimus -> Goblin(1): Ineffective
Athimus attacks Goblin(2).
Maximus -> Goblin(2): Hit(13) - 3 damage.
Mordikai -> Goblin(2): Hit(18) - 7 damage. Goblin Dies.
Party gains 150 exp.
Party gains 2 short swords, 2 leather armor, and 50 gold.
End of Combat:
Maximus: Casts Cure Light Wounds on Maximus - Fully healed.
OOC: I was wondering what you thought about the auto-combat. Would you like to use this in the future. I thought it would be a good idea to speed up combat instead of having an entire page just to fight a bunch of small creatures.
Would you like me to include battles like this in the thread to help gain items, gold and exp? Would you rather choose to fight creatures on your own? Would you rather discuss tactics further before I start the auto-combat? Please give comments to help me improve this thread. But do it in the OOC thread to keep this one clean.

After a short break of negotiating, breath catching, and organizing, the party sets out to venture deeper into the Gilded Forest. After several hours, they come upon a small clearing in the woods, enough to get direct sunlight for a good portion of the day. It appears to be the work of man as there are several heavily rotten tree stumps and a cabin in the center. A man is sitting on the porch smoking a pipe. As the party enters the clearing, he stands up alarmed by the party of adventurers and calls out,
"Who goes there? And what is your business in the Gilded Forest?"
The man steps out into the sunlight, showing him wearing heavy armor and a few different types of weapons. Clearly the man is an experienced fighter or at least a rich one.

I have a bad feeling about thes man and as much as i would love to stay, i must return to the smithy to collect my composite long bow. I will travel quikly so i may quickly return to help your cause.
And with that dragon slayer set off to the local smithy. He was alone and could only hope he ran into no trouble along the way.

Looking around, and seeing no one else producing an answer, the ranger Mordikai stepped forth to address the armored man, who seemed wary of him now that he had stepped forward.
"We mean you no harm, we are just passing through on our way to find out about the sudden this man's *points to Vadskye* brother and--"
"You've come for my treasure, haven't you?" he growled in reply, cutting the ranger off before he could finish his explanation.
Mordikai was taken aback, but not by the man's gruff and rude nature. The mention of treasure had interested him, as it likely had his partner, but the man looked like one who was not to be trifled with. He returned to the group.
"What do you think our chances of finding this man's treasure? It sounds like a worthy cause, I say we go for it."
(OOC: RSF, hope you don't mind if I use your character for one line. If you do, I can always edit.)
"We can't just steal his treasure and leave him for dead," whispered Maximus in reply, "that would make us little better than the creatures that have infected this forest. No, we must go about it another way."
The armored man grew angrier with each word spoken that he could not hear.
"No secrets!" he shouted.

Vadskye: "Wait! Why would you call us thieves when, aside from Sephiroth here, we have done you no harm or even threatened you?"
Man: "..."
Vadskye: "How do we know you aren't a thief who steals under the pretense of protecting some make-believe treasure?"
Man: "Make-believe?! I'll show you!"
The man pushes a button on a tree and a pit opens up between our party and the man.
Man: "See? This is priceless, but you will pay with your lives for... Hey! Where'd you run off to? Come back so I can kill you!"
The party had been hustled into the trees by Vadskye while the man was occupied by a moment by his treasure
Vadskye: "I knew it!"
(just 2 lines, okay?) Sephiroth: "But how did you know?"
Vadskye: "I saw the outlines of the pit and guessed the reason. I also saw that one of the pieces of equipment had been on a person on the Lost Persons poster in the smithy. I immediately assumed that that man had killed the Lost Person and stolen his equipment. Obviously, I was right."
Sephiroth: "...wow."
Vadskye: "I am a thief, and you don't become a thief without some detection skills."

OOC: When I introduce people, I will probably have an intention for them, so don't always be so quick to control their actions. Btw, it's a good idea to not try to kill this guy. And he was certainly going to be rude, but not hostile. I'll make an OOC note next time if I don't want you controlling a person in the story.
Party gains 200 experience for detecting the trap.
Maximus: Good work, Vadskye. Glad we have a good thief in the party to keep us safe from traps like that. Oh I don't think it was such a good idea to attack him so quickly. I saw a bunch of smithy tools on his porch. And he moved in that heavy armor as though he was wearing nothing at all. No doubt that was enchanted armor. I don't think we should deal with this guy anymore. He'll only try to attack us and that armor looks impenetrable.
Meanwhile, Dragon_Slayer is on his way back to town when he comes across a Gibberling. Fortunately, Dragon_Slayer catches the beast while it's asleep and gets an extra attack off.
Gibberling:
This creature is fairly weak. It's easy to kill and more of a nussance for any adventurer, however in large numbers they can difficult for pretty much anyone travelling alone.
HP: 5
Weapon: Claws (1d6)
Armor Class: 10
Thac0: 22
Experience: 50
Isildur:
HP: 17/17
Armor Class: 4
Short Sword Thac0: 19
Long Bow Thac0/Damage: 17/1d6+2
Combat Begins
Isildur gets first attack. Uses Short Sword.
Isildur -> Gibberling: Miss(4).
Round 1:
Isildur -> Gibberling: Miss(2).
Gibberling -> Isildur: Miss(13).
Round 2:
Isildur -> Gibberling: Hit(16) - 4 damage.
Gibberling -> Isildur: Miss(13).
Round 3:
Isildur -> Gibberling: Hit(11) - 4 damage. Gibberling dies.
Isildur gains 50 experience.
Isildur gains 15 gold.
End of combat.
Isildur laughs at the weakness of the Gibberling and continues onward to the town. Several minutes after he leaves, several more Gibberlings find the dead body and begin feasting. Unable to determine which one gets how much, they argue over the carcass and seem to get nowhere with their cannibalism.

Isildur finally arrives to the smithy. He walks in and rings the little bell on the counter.
bing
Shopkeep: Ah Isildur how have you been. I have your bow ready for you.
Isildur: Thank you good sir.
Shopkeep: I have a special offer just for you. With any trade in recieve a long sword for only 15 gold.
Isildur: I would usually accept such an offer but i told my companions that i would not trade in any of the items we obtained from our recent battle.
Shopkeep: Well i have a carrier pigion, send them a letter requesting permision.
Isildur: Thats a good idea thankyou.
Dear Maximus,
I have arrived at the local smithy and have been offered a lond sword for only 15 gold and a trade in. I was thinking of trading in the short sword because i am much more skilled with it. The long sword will still remain property of the party but just be in my possesion.
From Isildur
OOC: I have no proficiancy points on short sword but 2 points on long sword which is why im trying to get rid of it.

Maximus sends a letter back.
That sounds like a great deal. I'm sure the party would be more than eager to jump at such an offer. By the way, I wouldn't visit the man we met in the clearing. Some harsh words were exchanged and he tried to kill us, so I wouldn't mess with him. Luckily, Vadskye found one of his trap and led us to safety.
OOC: Just use the gold you got from the Gibberling.
