Yes but Ash makes big stuff out of nothing.
I'm done with this. I can express my viewpoints as long as I do not insult anyone. Where did you get the idea that I provoke the one I'm talking about? Frankly I don't see what the problem is.
In fact if you ignore me like you said then I absolutely do not see why you have a problem with what I post. Absolutely I can't figure it out. At all.
would a "hide what member says" button be better? That way you at least won't be able to know I even posted (and obviously no insults since otherwise I would be penalized).

What is free speech? Please tell me.
"Hey those politicians argued with the other party!! Provocation, I didn't ask them to do that! Police, get em!"
this is so ridiculous on so many levels...

Asheera, don't take everything so personally. Just get a thicker skin. TheDeath made a small joke, and you're blowing it way out of proportion. If you don't like it, don't post. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Hmmm since my country has 0 jails i have a crime problem...
#1 "Just the other day, I got mugged in the broad daylight!" says ruffian Pip du Pont. "And the ironic thing is I had just stuck up this other guy. When muggers are getting mugged, even I have to admit that crime has gotten out of control. We do need more police."
#2 "The solution to crime is not more police!" says noted sociologist and occasional crime novelist Johann Licorish. "Studies repeatedly show that crime is caused by poverty and poor education. Increase government spending in these areas, and crime will fall! Maybe not overnight, but it will happen."
#3 "Yeah, good luck with that," says conservative leader and gun enthusiast Samuel Summers. "Look, we do need more police, that's clear. But that's not enough. We need real punishments: sentences that will act as a genuine deterrent to people considering a life of crime. Like public floggings."
I'm leaning a bit toward 3 and away from 1. although each option is far too radical or conservative.

@Death: Free Speech? Sorry, but it isn't 100% Free Speech, as you can't make racist remarks, etc, among other things. Read the Code of Conduct if you haven't so already. Here are some interesting parts:Quote: * Courteous regard for people's feelings, opinions and actions.
Quote: 6) NO provocation or aggravaion.
Provocation is unfriendly behavior that causes anger or resentment from others. Aggravation is causing, continuing or increasing irritation or trouble. This includes being a detriment to the peacekeeping of the forums.
Now, let's take an example:
You call William Billiam for a reason... not something bad.
Then he says he doesn't like this at all, and tells you to stop calling him Billiam.
Now, you make a post somewhere: "Hey Billiam, blabla". This is a clear provocation, since you know that it annoys him, yet you don't respect this and continue calling him Billiam.
See the above quotes from the CoC (especially the first one with respecting others) and see why this IS a provocation.
Now, in my case, I told you countless times I do NOT want to discuss my nation's viewpoint with you, yet you continue to provoke me in this matter, even when you KNOW. Sorry, but this is against the two quotes above from the CoC.
@mvass: Sorry but if someone makes a joke/says something about you which you DON'T LIKE (and he KNOWS this), then it's a clear provocation. But you're right probably, I should stop arguing with Death and follow the COC and alert the Moderators by his provocations.
@Joonas: Of course I'd like to end this whole thing, after all, it's not me who starts provoking him
My last post on this matter but if you continue provoking me I'm gonna alert the Mods next time.

That's not a good example. A proper example would have been if I were to say "Hey you know Asheera, I don't like your posts at ALL, regardless of whether they are directed at me or not, so how about you don't post at all? Otherwise you provoke me since I said I don't like them" -- which is beyond the point of being ridiculous.

What if I say I don't like any of your jokes and I find them offensive? You can't just SAY that, it has to be made clear.
I had absolutely no racism, no offensive words, no cursing, no nothing. What is your problem?
You constantly give off-the-point examples with racism, offense or direct attacks, which I clearly did not do. I suggest you get out for a sec and think straight for a minute.
Quote: @Joonas: Of course I'd like to end this whole thing, after all, it's not me who starts provoking him
I can say that you provoke me with any one of your post because I just... don't like your posts. Does that sound ridiculous?
(it was only a silly example BTW)

If I went off every time someone made some kind of remark about me, then HC would not be very fun, now would it? I don't see any provocation in his post. It's all in good fun. We're all friends here, right?
If you have some kind of problem with TheDeath's posting habits, then the problem is not his, but yours. Because he doesn't break the CoC in any way.

No, but that's because you have no problems with remarks about you. And of course, it depends on the remark and on the person. For example, William doesn't like to be called Billiam. Definitely someone who would repeatedly call him Billiam, after knowing this, looks for provocation.

Anyone can say that any remark can "annoy" him -- and that's EXACTLY how censorship is born. Anyone can say that he is offended by the word "xyz" and then, any discussion that has these looks for provocation to him? So then every such discussion using "xyz" should be banned right (it's not an offensive word per se, it's just what I would find in this example!!)?
That's EXACTLY what censorship is.
And I didn't even directed it at YOU (in fact, I didn't even considered it a 'direct' thing, it was something I said about how I think your nation is and WHY I think it is that way) -- so your example makes no sense (with Billiam).
As long as I didn't use any racist, offensive words or anything like that (you know I don't) I don't see where's the problem, since I just said what was in my head regarding the matter (and yes I also explained why I think it's that; in fact it's what I think, I expressed that).

Quote: No, but that's because you have no problems with remarks about you.
It was a non-racist, non-sexist, non-insulting remark. Thus, it doesn't matter if you don't like it or not - he has the right to say it. TheDeath is right, that's exactly how censorship is born. Everyone says things that may be offensive to someone.
For example, Binabik once said that I advocated eugenics. Did I like the fact that he said it? No, of course not. Did I get bent out of shape about it? No.
And this was a far smaller comment than that.
