a Fabric town - something like Anti-Forge. The Forge after light ending of M&M. It's a medieval techno, like Carolus Franks Empire with Atlants' lasers. 
Only on Russian. 
We are glad to see scripters and modellers in our team.
Maybe, the Fabric will be in HotA 3.0. Or 6.0. Or never, maybe...

Why would there be a new faction after the Light ending? The adventurers just went through the Gate, they didn't bring back a few thousand heavily-armed robocops

Kastore and his collaborators make the Forge work without some parts. So the Forge works not properly (I mean REALLY not properly)
But among non-working goods and weapons ocassionaly created by the Forge could find a really good stuff, like a hypnoemitter or mutagens.
So this new fraction haven't a logic disadvantages of old Forge (machineguns and magic vs. sword and magic).

Why don't new town makers just make a new "neutral" town and worry about graphics later?

So far no one has made any new playable town, no matter it had good graphics or not. Looks like reverse engineering ich much harder (if possible at all) than simply replacing defs and abilities.

Yes, there are tons of town-dependent arrays and some code parts that are specific to certain towns. However, the progress is good. Have you seen Bastion gameplay video?

Bah! After several years I'm back.  And in my first post of this "very very come back" I will annouce... that The New Forge Team is on! Yes gentlemen and lads, we want to revive Forge. Perhaps after one or two months you will be able to play it.
Anyway it would replace Conflux. We don't want to wait for 3.59 patch who will have ability to add new town. Here is the movie that propably'll make thing clear:

And by the way - we have got a movie that shows you a bit of story and creatures, but it's got bad quality, we will fix it!

Doesn't matter the quality of sketches IMO. Once the town is ready, it is much easier and pleasant to improve them. If one is waiting to have perfect graphics, it ends as HoTA or the first Grove. The hard thing is to create the whole thing and release it.
Btw, following what I've said, I wonder if Grove town creatures and animations are still worked on. Because for a beta it was great, but they promised more in the future

I mean not only the quality of graphics, but concept and setting. Mechanical zombie is much better for hard fantasy realm than some laser-tank hybrids shown before.
