Well there are two strikes already against Clinton.  One is named Bill, the other is that even though female she is still part of the 'old boys' network.  White, middle aged, rich.  The third strike imo is because she is too polarizing.  Now this is just personal opinon, but I want somebody a bit different this time.  Heck even Huckabee would have been a nice change of pace.  Even though he is still middle aged, white, and rich.

Huckabee... well, he is probably the worst candidate I know.. but that is my opinion.
Quote:

Now as for the Bill part of it.  I just got tired of Bill when he was in office.  Don't really care for him.  Maybe (and this is a big maybe) if he had stayed out of the election it would have been different for me.

You got tired? Tired of what? A growing economy? The bettering of positions of minorities throughout the country? Oh but it much be something substantial..you cannot mean that grew tired of his face.. Oh no, I think you can
Quote:

Basically I am what most people consider Hillary's target audience.  White and female (though not rich by any stretch of the imagination).  If she has a hard time convincing me to vote for her, then how can she win?

Stereotyping never got anyone anywhere. Convincing you... but you earlier said you are voting on intuition. How could anyone convince you...
Quote:

First, I am not convinced the 'tears' she shed were real.  They may very well be, but I seriously don't think so.  She is a cagey politition, could have all been a show.  Just because she is a woman, doesn't mean I am going to vote for her when she mists up.  In fact, in a way it makes me want not to vote for her.  Everybody immediately does the 'awww poor Clinton' bit, just because she is a female and mists up.

Yep, there are some people who vote her just because of that. But equally there are people voting for Obama just because he is black. Both reasonings are ridiculous.

Quote:
Second, her record with voting.  Especially for the war, and the patriot act.  Yeah this was Bush's mess, but she had a hand in it.  Just like every other official who voted for it did.

Interesting that you would consider this fact important, but still will vote for the continuing of the WAR, and more deaths of more American soldiers...

Wow, I am SOOO glad you know me so well, and can read my mind. Good to know./sarcasm

With her voting record.  Which she hasn't.

In this we actually agree.  Wow, miricles do happen.

Again, I am really glad you told me this.  I mean, I would have never known I ever voted for the war, nor supported it in any way.  I am glad you know that I did. /sarcasm.

Just so you know...and don't have to guess.  I voted against the war.  Even though it was an unpopular thing at the time, I even chanced gathering voters to vote against it.  I have been vocal in many threads here that this war has been the stupidest thing I can think of.  Anyhow Minion, I am out, done, finished.  One thing I hate about political and religious debate is things like this.

I don't think it'd be so much as womens' rights as it would be image.  It also would help send the message that if you have an unhappy marriage, stay with your spouse because it may very well lead to power someday.

And since we're on the subject of cheap shots(I wish I could take credit for this, I really do), I read in NewsWeek one of the letters to the editor that might have had the best line of 2008.

He said words to the effect, "What kind of feminist is Hillary Clinton that, when she is beaten by a man, she cries and sics her husband on him?  That's not the feminist I'd want to have as my president.  I'm voting for the other guys."

I will vote for whoever is running against Clinton.  I honestly don't care who it is.  I know, sounds strange, because I DO want a female president.  Just not Clinton.  It may just be a gut reaction, and not logical, but eh never said I was logical.  You have to vote with your instincts.  My instincts tell me Clinton would be a terrible President.

So you can stop you crap. You clearly said you would vote for a republican, and thus support the WAR. So just stop it!

I DO want a female president

what difference does it make whether your president is male or female (this is not only directed at you Mytical it's a general question)? Seriously?
I would vote for the one that is the most competent (not that that's anything most americans would do imho...). I feel the same way about womens right as Roy what can possibly be improved by laws? God.... this is so low!
People voting for/against Obama just because he's black?!? People voting for Hilary just because she is a female?!? Haaa...

Hmm... every republican candidate besides Ron Paul supports the continuation of the war, no?

But the point is... you couldn't see it from her posts, the war is not really an issue for Mytical...She doesnt give a damn about the soldiers... all she cares about is her personal vendetta for Hillary - no matter who dies in the process.

So just because she isn't as passionate as some about the war, means she doesn't care about our soldiers?  That's quite presumptuous.

Incredible Show Of Support

Obama has now taken three more states: Luisianna, Washington state, and Nebraska. I still don't know if he's the right person for the job. But to me I have no other choice. All the other candidates have disqualified themselves for one reason or another. All I am left with is him. He is the last one standing in my opinion. Still it is remarkable how other people simply believe in him through and through.

I promised myself I would not post a reply, but us gals we have a right to change our minds.

Ok by somebodies logic here, voting for anybody who votes for the war is supporting the war.  Lets go with this shall we?
In 2002 Hillary voted to support the war.
Of course since now she is running for president, and the people are tired of the war, she will say what people want to hear.  That she wants to end the war.

However, since if you vote for anybody who supported the war you yourself support the war (by the logic somebody here suggested).  So, if it comes down to Clinton vs anybody, you can not vote without supporting the war.  I am sorry, this is hogwash.

War is terrible, always has been, always will.  Just because I personally refuse to vote for Clinton does not mean in any way that I support the war.  If it was mandatory to find a politician that stood for everything I do, I would never be able to vote.  Especially because they say one thing trying to get into office, and another once there.  However, just to placate some people here, if it comes down to Clinton vs whoever, I will do a write in vote.  I'll vote for Bobo the chimp.  Rather throw my vote away then vote for Clinton.

There are many other reasons besides just supporting the war.

I do admit that us Americans always poke our noses in other peoples business.
For yrs we have been at war since America was formed.
Yes we started most of them.
I can see that many countires despises Americans.
I can see some of the reason.
We cant mind our own business.
We always got to be where we do not belong.

This war right here is proof enough.

It really never ceases to amaze me how liberal this board is.  I still feel like the only conservative here, even 3 years later.

Hillary or Obama would be a bad move for the country, but Hillary would definitely be worse.  Obama at least seems new to the crowd.  He seems to have more support from the people where Hillary seems to have more support in the super delegates.
I was thinking a possible scenario where Hillary wins the nomination instead of Obama purely on her super delegate count.  McCain I think can draw more independents and moderates than Clinton can, so I figured he  would win that contest anyway, but there could be a backlash against her  for winning the nomination in an underhanded way.  Obama can pull more independents I think than McCain, but if the general election is between Clinton and McCain, McCain will pull in those votes.

Here in Nebraska, Obama pulled in 68% of the vote in the Democratic caucuses.  Unfortunately the Republican primaries are not for another three months...what's even the point?  THis basically means I have no say, no matter how small it would be, in choosing my party's nomination.
