It's completely different from any other heroes game for sure, but I don't really care about that. I find it to be more fun than H3 TBH, and more fun than H5 ToTE (the better expansion/ stand alone game). Of the games I've played, it goes (From favorite to least favorite) H4, H5 ToTE, H3, H5.
My personal opinion of course. Try them all out and decide for yourself.

Hi,
Lalartu here...
Haven't played homm3 in couple of years and finally decided to play it again, especially when I found that "hirez" mod.
Was never any expert in it, but liked to play it in hot-seat with friends back then.
I am glad that after so many years this game has such a large community.
Decided to join it, and have some fun

Just wanted to say Hi. I am new to the boards and was looking for a little help answer questions about HOMM III+IV Complete. I have been since the original HOMM and had recently gotten in to playing after buying HOMM III+IV Complete about a month ago.
I was wondering when I would be able to star new topics and also where is the best place to have questions answered about more technical aspect about HOMM III+IV Complete.

Hi Tn, welcome to the forums.
You can post about H3 or H4 in the appropriate forum. The number of threads you are allowed to start depends on the total number of posts you've made. You're allowed to start 1 thread for roughly every ten posts that you make.
I suggest you read the FAQfor newcomers, though it does appear to need to be updated.

A new spirit to the community
Hello everyone!
My name is Goran.
I'm from Norway, and i'm new to this site.
Though i'm not that very new to the heroes games, but haven't played them that much.
In the start I was kind of skeptical to the games, especially heroes, but at that moment I had not heard about might & magic.
But now I like those games very much, haven't played so much on might & magic series, but I've played Heroes 3, 4 and a little on 5.
Favorite is ofc Heroes 3 :3
So a friend of mine, told me about this site, and well... here I am!
And i'm honored to be a member of the heroes community.

Welcome to the forums sir. They aren't too active these days, what with people being on vacations and the infamy that came with H6, but there is still a small core of us dedicated HCr's ready to answer any and all questions you might have.

Hello community,
I played HoMM 1-3 back in the days when they came out. I was really taken away especially with the third part of the series! I played it quite much in singleplayer and some hot seaters. Hadn't touched it for many many years until now I decided to install it once again.
I found the Complete Edition in a local gameshop and now I run it on my Mac through a program called Parallels which runs Windows XP in coherense with the Mac OS.
I found this forum when I googled the answer for getting it to full screen. The HD mod is awesome!
I played HoMM 3 quite a lot back then but just now I realized how deep strategies you can plan when I read the strategy thread! And I got a nice feeling to see that there is people who still enjoy this game.
Now I'll head up to the maps subforum and try to find some nice maps for singleplayer mode. Not too hard, not too easy for starters...

long time fan, first time poster
Hello, Ive been an avid heroes of might and magic since about 1997. I started off with Heroes 2 at a friends house just watching him play and then later moved onto playing a few hot seat games with him,we never finished that many but we had fun. I bought heroes 1 on a vacation trip thinking that I couldn't play it at home because my computer sucked, I played it at all hours during the vacation.
After some time I borrowed Heroes 2 from my first friend to try and instal it on my computer because it required MS dos. It worked and I soon parted ways with that friend (due to just normal growing apart) but he forgot to get the heroes disc back from me. I introduced another friend to the series who ended up getting heroes 3.
We both walked through the local gamestop and looked at the over priced scenario campaigns like wake of the gods and never picked them up because we only did skirmish at the time. I still had a crappy computer for a while but when I upgraded I kinda forgot about heroes until I read online that heroes 4 had come out. My brother drove to gamestop for me and bought it. Boy was I disappointed! Thats all Im going to say on the mater other then it turned me off from heroes for years.
I managed to snag a cheap but broken 800 mhz laptop off a friend at school in high school. It didnt work all the time but when it did I could play heroes 3 any where that had a wall outlet!
Heroes 5 came out and I tried it being an old fan of the series and my initial reaction was that it wasnt a great game but still not like 4.
Again, I put off the heroes series for some years until two years ago when my ex-girlfriend gave me her old laptop that couldnt play much. GOG.com also ran a sale on the complete heroes series so I bought 1-4 and didnt look back. I installed heroes 3 on it and Ive been playing ever since.
Ive given the demo for 6 a try but I didnt like the zone control and i tried to give 5 another go with some success but Im to focused on 3 right now where Im completing all of the installed maps and campaigns. I already finished those greatly over priced heroes chronicles 
So ya.. long time fan and I also decided to use the liches from hoMM2 as my only name but twisting it to Litch. I still like using the necros in heroes 3 especially with the cloak of the undead king!
Sorry long rant but I felt like sharing.
