Hello everyone!
I'm ShadowCrush, and I used to play Heroes 3 a whole bunch back in the day. I decided to try and find a little something new to add to Heroes 3, to spice it up a bit, and I can see that there's quite a bit to choose from, so much that I'm a little unsure of where to start...
So I decided to join in on your ranks, so that I can ask around and leave a bit of feedback. I hope to get a few good suggestions for mods to try out. If it isn't inappropriate to do here, then feel free to reply if there's certain big ones that I should give a go.

welcome. try Era, HotA, VCMI, or the original mod, WoG. all are good, from what i've read, and each one adds something new to the game. peruse their threads, to get an idea of what they can offer you.

Hello ShadowCrush and wellcome. Don't forget to try the new maps for WoG. Wog allows the map-maker to add new functionalities to the game and some of them really knew how to use the opportunity. Personally I recommend The Dragon Slauther and Alexander the great.

Hello, everyone! Been playing HoMM3 on and off since early 00s but only single player. I just got into it again with some buddies and we're playing on GameRanger but looks like I'm worst player among us so I have to compensate it by lurking on forums all the time  This forum looks awesome, feeling like I missed something very important when I see real old posts  As you've guessed already English isn't my native language and I'm kinda self learned badass so no perfect sentences from me.
I've found about random templates and that its possible to edit them but I can't find anything resembling rmg.txt in my HoMM3/Data folder. I have GoG version of the game. Lost over dozen hours in past week playing some bad maps I'm trying to find anything about this problem on the forum but stuff I'm interested most is vague and 95% of links are dead.
EDIT: I play MMDoC as well.

my object patch link will always be up(at least, in my thread). install era, then install that. have fun, and welcome to the forum.

Hello there, I'm Elsa.
Ever since I was young,, my father has played Heroes with me. It was my first video game, that is why I love it so much.
This might just be because of nostalgia....but I LOVE Heroes 3. Adela is my favourite hero. I'd always be her  And Heroes 3 was my first game. But the disc got messed up and lost when we moved, so I can't play it any more.
We got Heroes 4.... but neither of us liked it, it was too strange. I don't know exactly what was strange about it, but around that time I kinda didn't play Heroes. Heroes 3 was gone, and Heroes 4 was too different.
The Heroes 5 came out. And I loved it.
Heroes 5 is the only one I can play now, but that's okay with me because it's so awesome. I don't have Heroes 6 yet, but I'm hoping. Sad thing is, I threw away the manual so I can't do the online key and play online multiplayer.
Sorry for the long post. I'm always trying to get better and beat my father for once so any tips would be awesome.

If you play for that long you must better terribly good but we live in the XXI century and now you can watch videos of other players to learn the tricks faster.
Look for "let's play Heroes of Might and Magic V" in YouTube or for Games->Heroes of might and magic V in www.twitch.tv.
I've been having some good experiences with this but I normally look for Heroes of Might and Magic III wich is a lot more popular then V.

Hey, I am Tobi from Germany.
I have been playing Heroes 3 and 4 for ages now, good games never get old, do they?
To be honest, I have registered here to find people who want to play Heroes 4 with me and my friends, so we can play 2on2 or 3on3 or even FFA with some more players.
We usually somewhere between 6 and 12 pm, we all study on university's and play while learning for our courses. Anyone wants to join? Contact me on the forums so I can add you on GameRanger .
