My review of Jhora the Wizard in HOMM5 demo:

Strengths:

Spell Power = 16, Mana = 135, cheaper spells, increased hero initiative.
Master of Fire, Ice and Storms - fire spells reduce enemy defnce, cold spells freeze, lightning spells stun. Great array of damaging spells.
Magic Mirror, Expert Defence, Evasion - her troops receive extra protection from spells, as well as physical and ranged attacks.
Archmages can do decent damage with their spells or railgun-type ranged attack.
150 Steel Golems which can be repaired by 300 Master Gremlins.

Weaknesses:

Low attack. No morale or luck bonuses, aside from Master Gremlins who carry a +1 luck creature artifact.
Lack of solid creatures aside from Steel Golems - Archmages, Djin Sultans and Master Gremlins are low on defence, Stone Gargoyles are only good for blocking, and 10 Rakshasa Rajas die quickly without decent backup.
Archmages, which offer essential powerful range attacks and additional damage spells, are very easy to kill, especially for enemy with powerful range attackers. Same for Master Gremlins which are needed to repair Steel Golems.

Tips:

Put Master Gremlins in the corner of the battlefield, say A1, and Steel Golems into B2 - on a diagonal, effectively preventing any large creature from touching the Master Gremlins. While your Golems absorb the damage, Gremlins repair them and Jhora casts Meteor Showers. This tactic can completely turn the tides of a battle, as several meteor showers can take out an antire army.
If you are confronted by the above tactic, try to kill the Master Gremlins, not the Steel Golems which are being repaired as you damage them. Treat the cause, not the symptoms as Dr. Freud would say Use shooters, casters, and Griffin battle dive, and of course small units that can squeeze past.
Basically there is only one weakness - melee combat. In my experience, the aim of Jhora's army is to last as long as possible while Jhora works her magic

In the duels I found that the direct damage the wizard has was it's strongest asset.  With 160 mana you can just cast and cast, grinding your opponents army down.  Sit back, and blow things up to your hearts content.

I did a bit with summoning but it appeared that they are fairly weak and it's more effective to simplely rain fire down.

My brief thoughts from a couple of duels.

Tower strategy...

This is a pretty fun castle to play with...but I don't know if it'll be a major player in Heroes V.  The units are quite weak and both Gennie and Rakasha are place holders.  They don't do anything except give a big target for your enemies to attack at.  Some points on the does and dont's of Tower play:

*Do not surround your mage with friendly units to protect him, as his ranged attack will harm your units as well.

*Do not leave your gremlins unprotected or separate them from your golems.

*Use your gennie to cast detrimental/beneficial spells instead of employing his pathetic attack.  When his mana runs out, use him as a sheild.

*Do not summon elementals, as they are extremely slow, and will not do as much damage as a good old fashioned Meteor shower.

*Do not go out and attack with your gargoyles or golems, as they are purely defensive units and should be used to protect your mages and gremlins

*Do not go up against a Sylvan army or you will get annihalated

Here is the basic strategy for Tower:

You set up your mages in the corner and hope that none of their units will be able to reach you first turn.  1 square (right or left) to the mages you should place you gremlins with the golems and gargoyles placed exactly in from of the gremlins (you should first notice what castle you are playing because if it is Dungeon or Inferno then you might want to move the gremlins farther from the mages, as it is a very tempting Meteor Shower target).

Next you place your Rakasha and Genie wherever the hell you want to the right or left (because they suck so much that it dosn't matter where they take a beating).

Your strategy is to pummel them with spells until nothing is left, keeping in mind that you cannot stretch the battle out for long.  You will probably lose the Rakasha, Genie, and Mages rather quickly, leaving you with you triple defensive combo.

Block out any oncoming attack to the gremlins with the golems and gargoyles and keep regenerating the golems with the gremlins.  This will keep you alive long enough to Meter shower or Chain lighting the enemy to death.

A very cool/fun thing to remember is that the Tower has as special ability called "Mark of the wizard" or something along those lines.  It is a fantastic ability that lets you target a certain creature and permanently mark him so that when that creature becomes the target of a spell, it deals double damage.

There is a VERY important point to keep in mind though...and I learned this the hard way after cursing myself for losing.  You have to TARGET the creature.  So if you're like me and you like to Meteor shower those crackers to death, then the effect will NOT work.

Personally I found that if you target the unit with chain lightning, it will deal the double damage, plus bounce off and snuff the other units.  This is a great strategy when you're facing a large stack and you know it would take you a good many turns to tackle them.  I especially like reaming Bloof Furies when they're lumped into a 220 stack because they're such pesky little things that pose a serious threat to the gremlins.

Use these tips wisely and you might have some hope of winning a few battles ... unless you're facing a Rampart that is...

gremlins arent that great. there only good for repairing golems and other stuff. if you have djinns use them to curse the enemy and hope you get decay on them.but just use them to get the retalition off when there low in numbers because ther TOTALLY USELESS!!!!!!!! FOR ANYTHING ELSE.

FORTRESS_FTW > Same thing I said for Bombur also goes for you. Please check your HC Messenger (link in upper right corner) and read my message, plus read last entry of this thread as some of this is directed at you amongst others.

EDIT > As you kept spamming the forum with unrelated questions (that should go in the Questions Topic) in old threads in spite of what I just politely asked you, your profile has been silenced which will hopefully give you the opportunity to read said message and contemplate on its content and formulate a reply in case there is anything which you want me to specify.

I personally like Havez (the gremlin master). for the following reasons.
- He starts the game with only gremlins, meaning that if you buy a gremlin workshop in your first round you can start the game with +-100 gremlins, and thy are range attackers.

- For every 2 levels he gains, the gremlins gains +1 attack and +1 defense, so at level 20, gremlin saboteurs will have an attack of 15 and defense  of 13.

- Havez starts with basic war machines, a balista and ammo cart. If you then aim for tripple shot with the balista then it is like having another unit!

as for strategies.

- I never carry gargoyles, or golems, instead, I'll divide my stack of plenty gremlins, (playing with Havez) into 2 stacks and keep them at seperate ends of the battle field. then I'll get the mages.

- I don't even waste my time with building the gargoyle or golem buildings. instead I'll get my income as high as possible(capitol, treasure caves and resource silo) and try to get higher level creatures as soon as possible.

- Once you start with the artificer skill, make sure you have enough resources!
for gremlins, Health, attack and innitiative.
 Mages, health, attack and innitiative
Djinns, health, defense, and magic protection
 Rakshasa, speed, innitiative, and attack/luck
and titans, innitiative, attack, and luck

-My army Usually consists of Gremlin sabotuers, Archmage, Djinn Sultan, Djinn Vizier(divided equally), Rakshasa Kshatra and Storm Titans. although After playing against a friend once (who took out my balista asap) I thought of keeping master gremlins as well since you are going to have a slot open and can repair any war machines!

i have played and won in heros a lot and i have a different strategy. i play with Nathir, because he has a Fire ball spell in beginning what is (Y). Try to get "mark of wizard", "ignite" ability. do not use Mark of wizard and fire ball on same unit and then u have quatro dmg in single turn. After u have build capitol start seeking for artifacts. if u get phoenix feather cape and rope of sar-issus then uŽll king of the hill.
