Usually the core skills you want to have is enlightenment, destructive, logistics and sorcery. Of course according to build there are many options, in lategame a combination of might and magic plays off nicely. Destructive is not always necessary either, I've successfully used dark or light though it is more situational. And then there's the matter of destructive helping immensely with creeping.

ok, this is my first post on this, so it might be more lengthy than worth

first of all i have to give a to Erwin for everything. Most of all for keeping the Code of Conduct like a Paladin

Then... i just () got H5... i know, reaaallyy late hehe. I was a fan of H3 (oh that Sandro guy!), had played a bit of H2, and now this (H4 i didn't even try, heard it sucked). On all games i mainly went for the campaign, never tried any multiplayer.
I greatly like the new skill system of H5, apart from the occasional bad stuff. Now i am on the Warlock campaing, where the main hero Raelag starts with Defense, and need some advice for the skill build.
Apart from the state that (unfortunately) i found your table (amazing work) a bit misinformed (but i use the 1.0.0 version of the game ) i am going for:

Destructive (normally)
Attack (for Tactics mainly, but Retri as well)
Sorcery (normally again)

And for the 6th...

- Luck (for Warlock's luck)
- Logistics (for the skill itself but also to Teleport Assault hydras upon enemy's face)

What's the best choice? I know Erwin would vote for Logistics 100%... but i'd love to see that Lucky Empowered Chain Lightning / Meteor Swarm upon enemy ranks...
Plus: i'm not sure whether it's a good idea to play dungeon offensively after all. I mean, wasting a hero spell to Teleport Assault the Mino's or/and Hydras is a waste of turns...

Lastly: anyone considered playing (again, vs AI) Dungeon with the Light-Dark magic combo? As a full caster that is. For Light has that extra buff Dungeon creatures need (?) while Dark is probably the greatest of all schools (Puppet Master, Blind...). Thus, you could blind/disable the enemy faster or ranged units, harass a bit with your own until they get closer and then - BAM! hehe!

Thank you for your patience, please make that answer a hell shorter than this

Apology accepted Welcome to the forum varsuvius, say are you an order of the stick fan?

For the campaign I think I'd skipped logistics in favour of warlock's luck and it was a lot of fun, very powerful. But around 3rd/4th mission where you hunt some inferno guy no logistics is annoying Ideally I'd skip attack and get both luck and logistics. You have enlightenment right?

Offensive dungeon is fun but not in the context of teleport assault, more like retribution/luck/defense kind of way. Light and dark is fun but not so sure about both in dungeon, you may not get the right spells.

Not actually a fun (reached #400 and then stopped) but i like the name and the guy (i never forget to prepare explosive runes in the morning ). I am a great pen & paper RPG fun though... this one is certain .

I got the skills i mentioned (luck, attack, sorcery, destr), and it's going well for me till now. actually, i think the whole campaign is too easy (except from Demons 3rd one, the one with the sylvan week - that was just stupid, but i did it after the 4th time by spending one more week instead of going for the castle). I play on normal though... and enlightenment, well, i didn't get. I know it is supposed to be a must for warlocks (and probably every function, i guess this skill is broken for the bonus stat points) but i've decided to skip it: after all, it's a campaign.

Well, only concern is that right now i'm starting the 3rd mission, and haven't got Meteor swarm yet (all previous castles offered chain lightning, which is great for i've got master of lightning perk, but still, meteor is sooo sweet ). I've restarted this mission about 10 times, captured both of the lowest cities, built a guild level 4 (they already have it at 3, i just save and build 4 in the first, and the same on the second just to see what spell is there) and it's all 10 times a Chain Lightning! wtf, is it because of my perk already gotten,  or am i so extremely unlucky? i've also restarted the 2nd quest, where this time i got a meteor swarm in my town... should i play from the 2nd quest again or will i find a meteor swarm in the rest cities of the 3rd quest? cause i'm kinda worried...

Lastly, i play the game with no patch, so i guess i 'll never see an empowered lucky lightning bolt/meteor swarm or whatever (heard that changed in patch 1.3). but the way i got the game (already cracked, just put the cd and play, absolutely no installation, which was kinda strange to me) i don't know if i can patch it
