Some force have guided me to look here and what i saw, a very good picture Thanks del_diablo

It about an 1 year when i fully gave up beliving in gods.

1.Why i gave up beliving ?

From my childhood i remeberd that the more i was thinking about the Bible, Christatnity, God the more doubts and dissimilarit. Even then I felt that something isn't right here. I was to young then to fully understand the big and small picture.

But the more i have learnt about humans, history of mankind, the three lusts (Power, Fame, Money) that was always present and guided many people in the past and in the present. I understood that knowledge is power and everything is neutral and we decide, by the way we are using something, is it good or bad. That every human can be wrong and tell a lies even an teacher in school and misguided you. The last thing needed was the book John Meslier Testament. the feeling that i was alone passed.

2.What is my opinion about gods now ?

* All the gods existed and exist but in the brains and imagination of the followers. Every god dies when you stop thinking about it.
* Gods where and are the tool of manipulation in hands of more powerful being then the gods them selfs, the creators of the gods, their "messengers", humans.
* When humanity needs something it creates it. We needed gods to explain every thing that we couldn't understand. (The simplest scientific process of explaining things)
* The my opinion about why are there so many folowers even in this days. Once we learnt or expierienced something in childhood it is hard to change that, even when it is bad or not logical.
* Most people thinking it that way: "many people belive in god so it must be some thruth in it". We belive first then we are thinking (if ever) about our beliefs
* In thoughts and beliefs or ideas they have hidden strenght because they can change people, our life and the world very fast in almost magical way.

And for the end an prayer:

Father and all HC members forgive me that i haven't read the whole thread and posted like that, forgive my sins like i forgive yours.
Amen

We call those deluded, they who would sacrifice everything because they believe in something.  To that list we may have to add anybody who has ever discovered, invented, or changed anything..ever.  Those who tirelessly persue a cure for cancer, or any disease for that matter, deluded.  I mean, we havn't made any progress..they are crazy for think we will..right?

Believing in something is not wrong, having faith in something greater then yourself is not delusion.  But faith without question is dangerous.  For when you can not question your own beliefs or 'knowledge' then you become a fanatic.  Just because it is written in a book somewhere, or just widely known, you should not automatically believe it.  Be it religion, science, or what.

@Mytical agreed on that our choices and acts makes an beliefs good or bad.

The only thing that we really have an free choice in this world is that whether be good or bad, whether we use thing for making good or evil.

If the God truly existed we wouldn't have to belive....

Except removing all doubt means no more free will.  I believe we are put on earth for a few things.  To learn, to question, and to grow. I also believe that to do so correctly we need free will.  Or else whatever power that might be would have just made robots.

Exactly. Besides, people were sure of existence/lack of existence of many things in the past and future proved them wrong. You may believe or not believe, but you can't be sure.

I think Mytical meant that doubt, among other things, is a part of humanity. If re remove it, we will become one step closer to beings that just exist. No questions, no doubts - like robots indeed.

Why? Because we need the "bad" feeling to appreciate the "good" feeling. if you never felt hunger, you will not appreciate satiety to full extent. Which makes you more robotic. You take everything as a given, you are never hungry, sad, in doubt or whatever else. Thus, your consciousness is flawed, your point of view incomplete.

See a spoiled brat from a rich family. He does not understand life. He doesn't appreciate love and concern, he bullies the poor because he doesn't understand poverty.

This is not a perfect example because you don't need to feel poverty to understand it, you can as well see it. Doesn't work with feelings though. If you never felt it, you are, well, incomplete in your life experience and understanding of others.

The problem with your "warning label" is it is ver bigoted and totally misrepresents what the Bible teaches. It does not advocate rape or any other thing your label falsely claims. The Bible does paint an accurate picture of humanity and does not gloss over any of the faults of the "heroes" of faith.

It is totally bigotted to accuse those who accept the Bible as being the Word of God as being delusional though that statement is completely in line with the statement that "Freedom from Religion" made that religious people are hard hearted and mentally enslaved. It seems that Dawkins has had a perverse influence on atheism and turned it into anti-theism.

This sums up what the Bible teaches.

Mat 22:35-40
(35)  Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
(36)  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
(37)  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
(38)  This is the first and great commandment.
(39)  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
(40)  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

I don't bellieve in god either! I never did, an never going to. If there where a god, the earth woul look a bit brighter than now! War, terror, muderes, thiefs, and so on wouldn't exist..
Or would it? No one knows anything about god, no one has seen him/her/that, and nobody have heard "that", so basicly "that" doesn't exist, cuz it's kind of easy to figure out that it's impossible...
Then the people hwo bellieve in god said: "You cannot prove that "god" doesn't exist, and we cannot prove he does, but he lives in all of us".. And that just make me laugh (no offence) but seriously,..

Once me and my best friend where playing on a frozen lake, but then we decided to call one of our friends and make him fall through the ice.. So we where smashing som pipes and other metal substances on the ice, to make it crack. Yo couldn't see the cracks in the ice, so we succeded in our evil plan. But none of us where thinkin about the size of a crack. So we where heading for safe grounds, but fell in the water both of us (quite annoying)....
Later that day we should have "class" (or whatever it is called) in religion (kristians).. We told the story to everyone cuz we whanted to pull some laugh's home..
Then our teacher said: "<do you guys realize how lucky you are to be allive? You have god on your sides, and he ofcourse pulled your up from the freezing water. That is so beautifull." Then my friend told her: "snow off woman! we have learned to swim with Søren(swim teacher)..",, And i added: "Hehe, what the hell is wrong with you?"
And we never visitet the church since (unless we have to because of family stuff?)

I don't think God (whatever He's like) is happy with this kind of behavior.
