LOL. I wouldn't say Limp Bizkit is metal aswell. But for the fact that they are considered NU Metal creators, some say Limp Bizkit is metal.
After a while they said they sing rap-metal. Rap-rock would sound bad right? But rap-metal sounds cool.
Ah, and don't worry. Metal people have been an outcast in society from the start (we don't take in consideration Finland, Denmark,Norway and Sweden here  ).
Tell me just one other place where metal was or is regarded as cool to listen by the majority of the society. USA? Not even there. Because of their looks,music,believes and acts, metalheads were considered bad people for the society. Many of the the guys from the metal scene started their music career by droping school.
Heck, metal in the ex-communist block appeared only after 88-89. But it sure got the attention of many around here.

No way, I would say a lot of it is emo, and a lot is death metal and all that kinda music, and Rock as well.
Which is kinda sad in a way.

Emo maybe around 1 year ago, it's dying out now because it get's such a bad image now, whereas before it was just the coolest thing to have
all over your myspace

Which sums up my point. You either walk around as a fan of Ministry of Sound or walk around with a Parkway Drive T-shirt. I hear post-hardcore is the music kids listen to these days. I know a fair few people who listen to Parkway Drive (not me personally) and most of them adopt the straight-edge lifestyle popularised by hardcore and post-hardcore bands.
As for techno I wouldn't go too far into that because chances are you'll be doing drugs in a hurry.

Those Ministry of Sound whatever guys.. techno guys not interested.
But those Parkway Drive.... Simply, simply desgusting what people do to get some fame. Parkway Drive is just a cheap rip-off In Flames.

Some friend from US Chicago sent me a link to a video of some band. I forgot their name. They were some stupid wannabe punk boys with a video of the band shooting a movie with some monkey on a stage. Very crappy sound, very crappy boys .. And the guys in Chichago were REALLY listening to it. Makes me wanna puke 
Still .. all this is kinda sad. Listen to some crappy stuff instead of seeing the valor in bands like The Doors or if they want something more hard go with Iced Earth or Black Sabbath or something. And hell if really want extreme go with Amon Amarth, My Dying Bride etc.

Fall Out Boy?
I used to have this friend in intermediate/high school who'd come over, play Heroes, and bring along some of his music collection. He was into metal, while I was into oldies and other mellower stuff. It was through him that I was briefly exposed to several metal and/or hard rock bands, including Iron Maiden, Megadeath, ACDC, and Guns 'n Roses. I never seriously caught on to any of them, but it was an interesting detour from my usual listens (which weren't many).
Once I'd changed schools, I met this other guy who appeared to be a Twisted Sister fan. Seemed like every time I bumped into him, he'd be singing "we're not gonna take it" softly to himself. I didn't even figure out the group's name until five years later.
I doubt I ever explored KISS in my many past adventures.

To be fair, they made one "good" record, good meaning "appealing to a larger audience. Incidentally I think that said album was indeed a good one, but not nearly worth all the freaking hype made about them.
However, I don't like the labels at all:
Motörhead, for example, would be called the godfathers or "inventors" of "Speed Metal", but they still open their shows with "We are Motörhead and we play Rock'n'Roll.
So I don't care whether something might "technically" be Blood Metal, Dumb Metal, **** Metal, Magic Metal or No Metal, but only whether it rocks or sucks, those being the most important labels of them all.

You asked for it...
Well reflecting back to the 2008 stuff, I think most of my beloved bands have hammerred the last nail to their coffin, which is kinda sad.
I mean for instance:
In Flames - A sense of purpose
God, this album is horribly boring. Zero solos, Anders' vocals are really suck (I read he had some problems with his vocal chords??), completely uninteresting stuff.
The same can be applied to Bodom's blooddrunk for instance, not to mention Korn's and Slipknot's latest albums
Metallica's Death Magnetic and Opeth's Watershed was imho decent enough, but neither of them blew off my mind to be honest. I also didn't find Hammerfall's new album too good, but that won't stop me going for their concert in 2 weeks .
I didn't want to write a along post, and I just gave my rants opinions without elaborating , but if anyone is interested, I'm up for a good discussion, so let me know what dou you think about it
