Make an elemental town, with Japanse culture.

Chreatures:

1. lvl.:Fire Sprite (Fire Attack(the crhreature does fire damage), Teleport, Caster, Spray Attack, No Enemy Relation)---> Fire Sprectre (Fire Attack(the crhreature does fire damage), Teleport, Caster, Spray Attack, No Enemy Relation, Storm Strike(see Warlord at HoF fortress))

okay, the next level is your work.

The Conflux allways was a bad idea. Just let it die.
BTW there IS a Conflux building in the map editor. I have no idea why you think Japaneese would look good with a bunch of elementals in. If there is a japaneese town, I'd like something much better and cooler in it than a bunch of elementals.

we probably have two line ups. mine and yours

i was sad to here that naga, not only got japanese as a theme, but native terrian as tundra. Ubisoft and Nival are great at bringing the towns into 3D and taking a whole new lease on things, but really, putting naga's, naturally cold-blooded creatures, into the ice bitten tundra.

the set you that you came up with, Alcibiades, looks and sounds really good. it seems that we can get it going soon, and hopefully, Ubi and Nival will listen to us, and then...

just one thing, what are the heroes going to be. mine are going to be elementalists (who are elementals), but witht the japanese theme, its opened up alot of new doors... sensei, Shogun and others are all possible heroes for a japanese themed town.

for me
elementalist, who like balance, have the following stats
attack: 1
defence: 1
spellpower: 2
knowledge: 1

its more of a speculation right now. maybe they add 2 terrains, or tundra is dropped like Snow Ape, or it will become barbar native terrain in next expansion.

Don't expect Nival to incorporate anything we discuss here. They probably have their agenda for the game, which probably includes basic concepts of all expansion towns there will be plus exact line-up for the second town. Again, I don't want to spoil the fun, just try to keep it realistic. I think it's worthwile discussing concepts and ideas, but I have no illusions of Nival addapting them.

Of course you can, I might even be wrong - what do I know, anyway? I just thought somebody might want to face some facts before the delve into making this another 30-something page thread, spending hours to evolve something that might be for "no use" except for the fun of it. I guess that was all I wanted to say.

And since this thread has gotten to a whoping 10 pages, I'd like to post what we have decided so far, as a milestone, and for people to tell me where I am wrong/mistaken.

Creatures
Lv1: Manifestation of one of the 4 indepentant elements.
Lv2: Manifestation of two of the 6 types of combinations.
Lv3: Elemental of one of the 4 indepentant elements.
Lv4: Elemental of two of the 6 types of combinations.
Lv5: Spirit of of one of 4 indepentant elements.
Lv6: Spirit of two of the 6 types of combinations.
Lv7: Firebird -> Pheonix

Indepentant Elements:
Fire
Water
Earth
Air

Combinations:
Magma
Sand
Steam
Clay
Storm
Plasma

Town Structure
A mix of Mayan Architexture with the Japanese Garden.

Mage Guild: 5 levels. spells are infuenced by which elements you favor.  (Destructive = Fire, Summoning = Water, Light = Air, Earth = Dark)

The Town Center sits in the center of the large lake, surrounded by waterfalls that flow down and support the rest of the city.  Houses dot the small islands that fill the lake, and three larger Islands house the Three levels of unit aquisition.

Shrine = Level 1, 2: Aquire Manifestations

Portal = Level 3, 4: Aquire Elementals

Temple = Levle 5, 6: Aquire Spirits

There is a great palm tree that hangs over the western side of the lagoon, where the pheonixes and fire birds have made their nests.

History
The Planeswalkers, frighted by the chaos of the wars in Erathia refused all aid and created their own portals to try to escape the planet's destruction.  Their spell was quickly thrown together and shoddily made, and sent them hurling far through space, not to Aexoth, but through farther, darker areas of the galaxy.  Asha, feeling compassion for them, redirected them to islands in Ashan, and they sailed north and found the continent we know and wish had better textures.

Actually, at level 1, 3, and 5, my idea was that you had all 4 elements available. So that you had the 4 different creatures - Air, Water, Fire, Earth - and then combined them 2 and 2 into the "advanced" elements.

Hi.  I took a break from town modeling and wrote some campaign missions.

Mission 1: Picks up shortly after the Planes walker’s arrival in Ashan.

Beginning of Cut Scene.

King Gelare: “Ciele, we need to expand our territory.  This small island will not hold all of our people.”

Camera: Pans out, showing their small Island.  It continues northwest to larger islands, though a black ship is on the water. KING GELARE continues, voiceover.

King Gelare: “Sail out to the west, see if there are any people here.  It is best we keep on good footing with them, we are not ready for war.”

Ciele: “We’d better get ready fast!”

Camera pans out to show a small army of necromancers emerging from a boat.

End of Cut Scene

King Gelare (voice over): “Those are necromancers! I had hoped they would be destroyed with Erathia.  Defeat them, and then we can regruoup.

*Player Eventually Defeats Necromancers*

King Gelare (voice over): “Good Job.  Now take their boats and explore this ocean.”

*Player visits the various islands, completing a few quests, and building up their conflux*

*Every month, a small force of necromancers attacks, and the player must fight them off*  

*After defeating the third one*

King Gelare (voice over): “We need to find out where these undead legions are coming from. Ciele, find and destroy them!”

*On the island furthest from the starting island, there is a Necropolis. Player defeats the Necropolis*

Beginning of Cut Scene.

Camera Ciele, who is cornered by a wraith.

The wraith and Ciele battle, and Ciele looses her sword.  The wraith swings it’s scythe up…

And is shot by a Naga. The Naga approaches as the Wraith fades into nothingness.


End of Cutscene.


Mission Two

Beginning of Cut Scene.

Picks up where the last mission left off.  The necropolis is all but gone, and there is a Naga talking to Ciele.  

Naga 1: “Greetings, human.  It is not usual to see one of one of your species approaching from the South.  Tell me, do you intend to colonize the oceans like you colonize the land, burning and pillaging as you go?  If so, you will find that the Nagas of the Jade Ocean do not succumb so easily.”

As she has been talking, the Camera has been panning around the ocean, showing various Nagan Settlements.

Ciele: “We come in peace.  We were brought here by magic, and we are happy to go elsewhere.  However, we do not know where else to go.”

Naga 1: “You may go north.  If you eradicate the Necromancers in this area, you can take their lands and use them for your own purposes.”

End of Cut Scene

*This mission is fairy straight forward, head north taking out all Necromancers that you find.  Eventually you will reach a Necropolis that is impossible to defeat, and you must flee back to your home city to evade the Necromancer that comes after you.  You must collect enough wood for 3 boats before the Necromancer reaches you.  He will be slowed by going through reclaiming your castles.  Once you collect the wood, the mission ends, and we go to the*

Beginning of Cut Scene.

Camera shows Gelare and Ciele on a boat, talking.  The boat is sailing west.

King Gelare: “These Necromancers are to powerful. We will have to head around the coast and see if we can avoid them.”

Ciele: “It seems a shame to give up.”

King Gelare: “There must be other people in this land, we can find them and see if they will aid us.”

The boat passes on, and the camera pans down to show two Nagas watching it go by. One of them is the same one that was in the beginning of the Mission.  

Naga 2: “They failed to defeat the Necromancers.”

Naga 1: “Yes, but there will be others.”

The Naga dives low beneath the waves to an undersea volcano.  She looks down into it.

Naga 1: “All is proceding according to plan, my lord.”

Voice from the Undersea Volcano: “Good…”

End of Cutscene.

Now now ... HERE we are talking.

That certainly looks very nice - it's got a good tight structure, although I'd like to see the buildings to be larger and take up more room in the picture. The symmetry of the four elementals around the central axis is also still something I'd like to pursue, but that's just my oppinion - think it would make sense, though.

I'm having some other thoughts, but I think I'll buzz a bit on them before letting it out here.
