What time would be next part of questions presented? At least let us know if it's before/after noon? I wish it could be before noon Or in late evening hours.. Then everybody (at least most of us all) would have approximately same chance to be unoccupied and have possibility to answer questions.
Uhm... and i've got a question in matter of rules:
Is it allowed to answer in several posts? I mean - divide your answers into several posts?

I cannot say for sure but TDL mentioned something about late evening due to real life complications. That was a couple of days ago, maybe he was too busy to update as I haven't seen him since.

Hello again, I return with a new set of heroic questions for you

Thanks to Alcibiades' fantastic idea, for he has implemented a superb style to the quiz, we shall try to use a certain and easy-to-use style, a manner of posting with each wave of questions.

Let us head to the questions: stay focused, watch your step and have fun!

ToAQ Questions: WEEK 6

As people get puzzled every so often by our questions (due to misunderstandings or lack of clarification) and the ones unanswered, the master post of the weeks' questions will constantly be updated with: the questions answered, the answers and the points awarded. Max limit in this wave is greater, 9, as I dared to include a little more questions, totalling up to the amount of 19.

1. What are the ways to improve the effect of Necromancy skill?

2. How many creatures may affect enemy initiative?

3. How many flyers do not have wings?

4. Which hero has an artifact named after him and what is its effect?

5. How can the damage be reduced by the largest amount?

6. Which heroes start with the possibility to affect creatures' initative (racial skill Artificer excluded)?

Answers:

1) By increasing hero levels, mastery of Necromancy racial skill (boosts dark energy point total and effect), wearing Amulet of Necromancy (10% boost) or Pendant of Mastery (free skill upgrade), Pillar of Bones (10% boost; 150 bonus dark energy points) and Tomb of the Lost (50% boost; 150 bonus dark energy points) structures, Lord of the Undead (5% boost) skill.
2) There is a true total of 15: Conscripts, Footmen, Squires and Enforcers (Bash); Spearwielders and Skirmishers (Crippling Wound); Hell Chargers and Nightmares (Fear Attack); Blackbear Rider (Paw Strike); Djinn and Djinn Sultan (Random Caster - Slow); Master Hunter (Warding Arrows); Shadow Witches and Shadow Matriarchs (Caster - Slow; the latter also has Whip Strike - Slow); Mummies (Hexing Attack - Slow).
3) Djinn, Djinn Sultans, Pixies, Sprites, Ghosts, Spectres and Air Elemental are capable of flying without wings, totalling the amount of flyers without wings up to 7.
4) Only one: Markal with his Skull of Markal, netting a +5 bonus to knowledge and spell power, but resulting in a -2 morale loss.
5) With Ranger's Last Stand perk. No matter how many creatures attack the last stack, 1 unit shall still be left alive. Considering 200 Wraiths attack the last 2 Sprites, only 6 points of damage are dealt, thus the reduction is enormous.
6) Tricky as it may sound, it is not tricky whatsoever. Exclusion of Artificer was reached due to the fact that EVERY Academy hero has the possibility to affect initiative. The lucky initiative-boosters and initiative-decreasers are: Razzak, Sorgal, Duncan, Laszlo (Haste), Maeve and Freyda (Haste and Windrider), Godric (Benediction), Raelag (Intimidate/Master of Initiative and Slow), Yrwanna (Slow), Agrael and Sovereign (Aura of Swiftness), Wyngaal (Swift Striker), Deirdre (Banshee Howl)
7) Undead are only poisoned when stepping on a Dungeon's moat, otherwise, they are fully resistant.
8) There are many possibilities, outlined below(note on resurrection skills: logically, they add up to the size as they raise over the prior-to-the-battle-cap (ie, 20 vampire lords, 10 die, but 1 resurrects due to life drain, thus logically it is 21 then):
- Elementals' and Phoenix summoning spells
- Phantom Forces duplication spell
- Devils' Pit Lord summoning ability
- Wolves' Howl ability
- Racial Demon Lords' Gating skill along with its perks, Swarming Gate and Gate Master
- Master of Elementals and Soulhunter hero specialties
- Resurrection spell and Archangels' ability
- Raise Dead spell
- Phoenix' Rebirth ability
- Vampires' and Vampire Lords' Life Drain ability
- Deep Hydras' Regeneration ability
- Gremlins' Repair ability
- Guardian Angel and Elemental Balance perks
- First Aid Tent resurrection ability (plus Embalmer specialty)
- Wizards' Consume Artifact resurrection perk
- Dwarven Rune of Resurrection
- Spectres' Mana Drain ability
9)Chain Lightning, Curse of the Netherworld, Holy Word, Circle of Winter and Ice Bolt and Armageddon. Chain Lightning damage diminishes with each next target. Holy Word and Curse of the Netherworld affect only certain types of creatures. Creatures in the area where the meteor falls take double damage, normal resistible damage from the spell and irresistible immunity-piercing meteor damage. Ice Bolt and Circle of Winter with Cold Death increase uncertain ice damage percentage (same goes for Empowered spells).
10) Sandro, the oh-so-well-known necromancer, was the lord of Heresh, kingdom of Necromancers, before it was destroyed and master of Markal, the campaign hero.
11) The oh-so-difficult perk is Ranger's Counterspell. Main reason is that it needs 28 level-ups (skill points) to reach it, needs five skills whose probability for all of them to pop up is rather low (Avenger - 10%, Light Magic - 8%, Enlightment - 10%, Summoning Magic - 2%, Sorcery - 8%). The skill route is:
- Avenger -> Imbue Arrow + Deadeye Shot
- Light Magic -> Master of Wrath -> Storm Wind -> Fire Resistance
- Enlightment -> Eagle Eye -> Know Your Enemy -> Arcane Exaltation
- Summoning Magic -> Master of Earthblood -> Wall of Fog -> Fire Warriors
- Sorcery -> Mana Regeneration -> Arcane Brilliance -> Counterspell
12) The answer is the Wizard. With Mark of the Wizard and Wasp Swarm cast on the same unit (Expert Mastery), it decreases by 60% twice - double entendre effect.
13) Necropolis with their heroes' Summoning Magic perk 'Haunted Mines', having ghosts appear and garrison the mine after claiming it.
14) The outcome is 100 skeletons. Hero must fight a mixed force so that you are shown the stack splitting screen. You must then split the skeletons into stacks of 3 or less, so that the game rounds down the cost to 2 dark energy points per skeleton.
15) Even though slightly difficult to see the difference between two, Necropolis overcomes Academy. According to the history, Sar-Elam is DIRECTLY involved with Asha, having been taught by her the principles - yet, he became the Seventh Dragon, thus losing its bond to the Academy. All further references claim Academy has no relation to dragons at all. Necropolis, however, is a faction oriented towards a darkened twisted version of Asha, with a ghastly death-related aspect of its Order.
16) 6 lunar eclipses, the last one being the cause of the events in Heroes of Might and Magic 5 campaigns.
17) 19 spells may damage enemy creatures:
- 10x Destructive Magic spells
- Word of Light
- Curse of the Netherworld
- Decay
- Faiz's Vulnerability
- Fist of Wrath
- Fire Trap
- Wasp Swarm
- Wall of Fire
- EarthQuake with Tremors perk (damage the creatures behind castle walls).
18) The maximum mana is 504. A Ranger who used Imbue Arrow can cast up to 7 spells at once if he uses Rain of Arrows and all enemy creatures belong to his favoured enemies. Moreover if this spell is a Dark Magic spell and the other hero is a Wizard or Ranger with the Seal of Darkness ability, the spell costs are doubled. Finally the Week of Ether can double it once more. With Puppet Master as the Dark Magic spell with the highest mana cost (18), using Rain of Arrows will drain 18*7*2*2 = 504 mana.
19) The answer totals to 17 possibilities: Enlightenment skill and Resistance, Graduate, wizard’s Reward, Secrets of Destruction, Twilight, Battle Commander, Arcane Exaltation, Arcane Brilliance, Lord of Undead, Arcane Excellence, Fallen Knight, Runic Armour, Master of conjuration, Life & Earthblood and Dark Revelation.

  Shadow Witch/Matriarch - slow spell,
  Conscripts, Enforcers, Footman, Squire - bash,          
  hell charger/nightamre - fear attack,
  Spearwielders/Skirmishers - crippling wound,
  Blackbear Riders - paw strike,
  Mummy - slow spell,
  Master Hunters - warding arrows,

Aside from that there is rune of thunderclap, (available on rune of flame)so it is posible for EVERY unit to inflict stun effect and make target unit lose all initiative

 

3. Fliers w/o wings - genies,master genies, devils/arch devils,         ghosts/specters, vampire lords, thanes/warlords, air elementals,  pixies/sprites,

10. There is an artifact "Sandro's Cloak" which negates enemy units mind effects immunity.

19. Flame Wielder: Effective Spellpower of the hero is increased when casting fire-based spells. Modifier depends on hero level.
OR
Border Guard: Hero has a bonus to his Defense (+1 Defense for each 2 hero levels) if fights are one day away from owned city.
