cleric / zealot. shooter + buffer + tank. one of the few tanks who do something else than defend all the time 
moreover, they usually are one of the last haven creature standing on the battlefield (with the squires) which is quite good for a shooter.

Because they deal pathetic damage and the enemy doesn't want to take them out 
Nightmares or Unicorns for me.

unicorns are most frustrating... because you try and take them out with units.. insane ranger def kicks in.. you try and use spells.. aura kicks in... 
it can really frustrate you ;P
the white unicorns are also kind of annoying... when you buff your army.. the unicorn also gets buffed... plus multiple stacks of white unicorns with regen and resurection (with last stand)... its really annoying

For me the Lich masters are the most useful, because they can resurrect my troops and shoot the enemy all the while too
decay also helps

lich masters can raise dead but cant decay... thats the other upgrade... you have to choose between raise dead and stronger stats.. or decay and death cloud ability

Tell me about it. Once Radar's Slayers killed all my Lich Masters in one attack (one strike was lucky) 
I mean, tier 5 vs tier 5, and mine falls down in one turn...

4 attacks? Where did you get that idea? *Only* 2 attacks + above average growth rate for a lvl 5 + possible retribution + luck = 
Still, even with luck it seems that liches should survive that

Hmm according to my calculations a week population of Executioners (with 2 attacks and luck and average damage taken) kills 2.9 Liches (there are 3 per week)
Now add the Barbarian's superior Attack versus Necro's Defense, and possibly some skills like Retribution and I understand how they could kill all my Liches.
Also what tann_141 was talking about is that when gaining level 3 blood rage they gain the Double Attack ability, which makes them attack 3 times (I think... could be four but I doubt it)

yea ive never actually seen them do 4 attacks when ive had lvl 3 rage... but thats only because nothing has ever survived past 3
im thinking that lvl 3 rage gives them double attack... but wont cleave activate on the second double attack? giving a total of 4 strikes?

Actually Cleave works after the second attack from Double attack, it doesn't apply to both attacks.

hmm so i guess thats only 3 strikes... even so... thats a lot of damage with the proper skills anything will die in a couple of hacks...
almost forgot that the also have aura of fear XD.. talk about insult to injury
