Never over 20?
I have said I prefer cold over heat, but never over 20 is like there's no summer at all.

Before I moved to Israel, yes, I've "been to snow" almost every year.

But I never even saw it since we got here.

*looks out window*

there's some snow

we've had a fair bit lately, expecting more tonight... winter has come early here, hope it won't be too evil...

I remember my dad telling me about what it was like when he moved to canada, the first time it snowed he said he went nuts - and kept waking everyone up to see it, but they were all like "whatever Jim, you're going to see lots of it, shaddup and go to bed"

He said he got really sick that first year, because he'd always go out without dressing properly just to be in it

I've seen snow 3 times in my life {well not like 3 moments - but on 3 different holidays}

There are some tiny pockets in Aus where it snows enough to cover the ground, but generally no snow. I love it too, I guess some people don't see a beach very often either

There are a lot of people who have never seen the beach. I think it's been 8-9 years since I've seen the ocean.

As for snow, I really lke snow. I just wish winter wasn't so long.

Seriously? Have you never been to the Hermon?
[The Hermon is the highest mountain in Israel. It is 2440 meters high. There is snow there every year.]

I visited the Hermon atleast 4 times, maybe more.
For an Israeli, snow is a very special thing...

Well here it's coming late this year.
Only a little snow around.
Blaah. Boring. Me wants more!

Well let's hope it doesn't go like last year when it came in october and melted away somewhere around 10 december or so...
Next time it snowed was late January.

Great New Years Eve in rain

ps. that really should be hmmph

I think now we have perfect winter whether. -5C and snow on the streets to lighten the days a bit. I go work everyday whit bicycle and i wouldn't like it any more colder. Too bad we don't have snowy winters like we used to have. It comes and goes as day goes by. It's pretty lame to sing "Raindrops are falling" at Christmas eve. I suppose there will be xmas whit out the snow anyway but it sure doesn't look very good. How does the Santa gonna get here?

No snow where I am yet. I'm not in any hurry though because I still don't have the house and yard ready for winter. I still have leaves to rake, gutters to clean and a garage to clean so I can get my car in (I *AM* going to get it inside this winter).

The rest of the week is below freezing at night and above freezing during the day. I'm south of the Great Lakes in N America, but not close enough to get lots of snow from the lakes, which tends to dump snow very close to the lakes (mostly within 5-20km). Sometimes there can be a blizard next to the lakes and just 1-2km away it's sunny - weird.

No, never got around to it. Besides, somehow I have a feeling it just wouldn't be the same. Going all the way to the Hermon to see snow after it fell on my doorsteps for almost 12 years... naah.

Yea, going to the mountains to see it just isn't the same. When you wake in the morning and everything is covered in a blanket of snow is so cool. And I love walking late at night when those great big fluffy flakes are coming down all around. It's so quiet and peaceful.

Such a beautiful picture...The only thing that is missing is a lit fireplace That said we'll be lighting ours this year, it was built for aesthetic reasons but it's great to use in the winter

Fireplace... I don't believe I've ever seen one in an ordinary house (i.e. not a museum or something). Must be cool... or hot... whatever, you get my point.

*casts snow storm over Israel*

The first year I spent a winter in California was weird. It was like the seasons were all messed up. By about Feb or March it was like my internal time clock was off - it's hard to describe except that it felt really weird and something was missing. Almost like jet lag, but the whole year was out of sync instead of just the day and night.

Plus everything was green in the winter and brown in the summer, which is just the opposite of what I was used to. I mean all kinds of flowers bloomed in the FALL.
