Mitsu lands delicately on the floor as acid eats through through the chains confining her to a stony prison. The Knock spell takes care of her shackles, popping them off. The sense of freedom is wonderful.
Onyx glances over his apprentice, quickly scanning for any visible wounds. Absent a finding of such, he approaches Azagal in a menacing manner. "And what if she was?" he states coldy in response to the king's protector.
"If you so much as..." Onyx gaze burns with malice as he speaks to Azgal. The young protector can feel the words bearing down on him, with unatural force... and pain. A prickling sensation runs through his cheeks, telling him that crossing the Rune Master would be his end. "Have I made myself clear?" All Azagal can do is stare in response to his question.
With his goal accomplished, Onyx relaxes a bit and motions for Mitsu to go through with the spell. A sphere of light quickly engulfs the group, rendering the world blind to their passing. Quickly, the group exits the dungeon, careful not to disturb the sleeping guards or alert any others. Seconds later, the group exits the stairs of the dungeon and finds the great hall.
"AH! THERE YOU ARE!"
A large crowd of people turns around, directly staring at the heroes. The invisibility spell is pierced by the benevolent eyes of Moon. The expressions on the crowds faces are a mixed assortment of awe, fear, and rage. The sight of Mitsu causes several people to start shouting for her blood and several advance on her.
"SHE'S THE ONE WHO KILLED THE KING! GET HER!!!"
"YOU WILL DO NO SUCH THING" commands Moon as the advancing mob finds itself unable to move.
"BUT SHE KILLED THE KING!" lament several of the enraged people.
"Then you should thank her for doing you a favor" the goddess replies as she walks towards the center of the room.
Cries of "WHAT IN THE HELLS!" "SHE'S FULL OF @#&%" "KILL HER" and the like bounce easily off of Moon's thick skin as she glances around the room, sizing it up.
"What do you mean favor?" asks a woman from the crowd.
"It's quite simple. Because I'm your new queen." Moon says as she extends her hand, causing a marble throne to erupt from the center of the room. Exotic winter vine-like plants begin to wind their way around the pillars of the room while two winter wolves materialize next to the throne. The wolves sit on the sides of the ornate chair, attentive of the crowd, and ready to attack at any moment. Moon smiles as she takes over her new castle. The crowd has grown silent observing the scene, speechless as to what has just occurred.
"I'll be blunt" Moon announces. "The Undead and Drow armies have been destroyed."
The crowd starts to cheer and hug at the news, but Moon raises her hand to quell the excitement.
"But it came at a heavy price. And that's not the end of it. The demons, storm giants, mind flayers, and shadow thieves all still have formidable armies and wage war across the land. If you are going to have any chance of surviving, you are going to need someone with the power to repel those armies. I am such a person. If there is another goddess in the room who thinks they can do a better job than me, I will gladly step down."
The room grows silent as Moon looks confidant. "That's what I thought. As to my first decree as Queen" she points to Mitsu "nobody will touch that woman. Whoever does, dies. Do I make myself clear?"
The crowd is silent with repressed anger, but agress to their new queen's request.
"Very good" the Queen-Goddess says in a pleased manner.
Meanwhile, at the tavern, the trio orders round after round, enjoying the mirth and merriment. After the fifth round and a rousing story of Jade's heroism, a messenger enters the bar.
"HERE YE! HERE YE!" he cries.
Saphire stops the man "Here ye. Here ye. Does anybody actually say that anymore."
The messenger just ignores her quip. "Under decree from the Queen-Goddess Moon, the one known as Mitsu, charged with regicide, shall not be harmed, under penalty of death. That is all!" With a quick bow, he walks out of the tavern.
"Queen Goddess-Moon?" Saphire says with curiousity. "Now this I gotta see."

Moon becoming queen doesn't really matter to me. It's nice, though.
"Well, I suppose we are now taking a break? Well, I will be off to find a room, then. I need to rest the mind. I will see you all tomorrow."
I head off to find that room.

I look at Vlad, grin, and say:
"Methinks I'm going to just call her Moon anyways."
I then look at Moon and say:
"How does it feel to be a Queen-Goddess?"
I smile as I await the response.

After the initial surprise has worn off I smile at Mitsu.
"That's...Not quite what I had in mind. It's handy to have a Goddess in your party, no? I think that's the kind of lucky break we needed."
I give her a tight embrace, by Mielikki I had missed her. Part of my worries fades away to a moment of euphoria.

I smile at them and approach Moon slowly.
"Moon," I call her attention modestly, my head low, "I... I want to apologize for what I have done to you."
Then I turn to wintefate, "I hope for forgiveness."

Mitsu enjoys the embrace a moment and then gets a mock stern look on her face. "What did I say about no man touching me without permisson? I guess I can forgive you ... this time. Don't let it happen again." She hugs him back.
She turns to Moon. "Queen and Goddess. It suits you. Kiki would be pleased you got over your hangups. She sends her regards. Said something about somebody named Victor's head, and that you would know what she meant. Something about it should arrive soon." Mitsu shrugs. "Probably not for me to know."
Then loudly she addresses the group. "Now somebody tell me what in the nine hells is going on here? Why does this witch still live after what she did to Moon?"

I look at Ceres and say:
"Well, it's not my place to condemn or forgive you. After all, we all make mistakes...even though what you did was quite a bit more world affecting than a simple mistake."
I give Ceres a faint smile and continue:
"I guess what I'm saying is that I forgive you...but what's the point in that? Whom you really have harmed is Moon, and I expect you should beg for her forgiveness."
I wink at Ceres and add, with a touch of finality:
"Trust me, if I still had a grudge with you, you'd already be dead."
I then look at Mitsu as she asks her question and say:
"Well, I'd rather have Moon answer that question. After all, she's the one with the greatest interest in her, for better or worse."

Mitsu’s words upset me but I try cope with it. I can’t blame her for inducing such; I know what treachery I did is unforgivable and all I can do is heave a sigh. However, winterfate’s forgiveness enlightens me. I do not expect it from him, but still, I am very grateful he had forgiven me.
“Thank you,” I reply to him with a weak smile.
“Queen Goddess Moon,” I address her as I turn to her again, “I am willing to accept any punishment you may bestow me. I know I deserve such for my treacherous act.”
I bow lowly in front of her as I wait for her response.

As I am walking around, trying to locate a place to rest, I remember something. Nothing of great importance, but something I thought would be useful anyway. I remember the three going to the tavern. The thought of using any of them is quickly put out of mind. I'd rather not deal with anyone in a drunken state of mind.
"Well, that leaves the ones I was with before. I guess I'll head back."
I turn myself around, and head back to where the others were before. I arrive in time to hear Ceres say, “I am willing to accept any punishment you may bestow me. I know I deserve such for my treacherous act.” I don’t really know what she has done, and I hardly care, but an idea comes to mind. I step up to them.
“Any punishment bestowed on you? I know of a punishment that I could bestow on you for the new queen. Though, she is free to decide if she would rather have something else done with you instead.”
I step up and whisper something to Moon.

Moon smiles at Blake's whispers and even starts to chuckle a little.
"While an entertaining thought, good wizard, I don't think it's appropriate in this case. However, I will certainly keep it in mind for other individuals." She dismisses Blake with her hand and turns her gaze towards Mistu. Then she turns to address the entire crowd gathered in the great hall and with a raise of her hand, silently dismisses them. "Citizens. I must ask of your leave now. There are personal matters that need to be discussed. I will address your issues and concerns at a later time."
After five minutes of milling and shuffling about, the great hall slowly drains of its audience, leaving only the heroes and the Moon behind.
"Victor huh? That little worm. Give her my thanks." Moon then stands up and descends from her throne, striding towards Ceres.
"Now to clear some things up. I don't know why feel the need to be punished Ceres. You didn't injury me in any sense of the word." The Queen-Goddess notices the look of disbelief on Mitsu's face and decides to quash the questioning glance. "She still lives, becuase her actions were all part of my plan. I am very well aware of the whispers of power that constantly find the ears of magi. I also knew that Dhalia was aware of our progress and I was even more aware of how she operates. I knew that Dhalia would attempt to turn someone in our group against us and I assumed it would be a mage. Given that Onyx and Mistu are from a different dimension, I had a hunch she would try someone more local, like Ceres." She smiles proudly at the young mage.
An eerily familiar voice fills Ceres's mind. "She performed magnificenty" says the spider tattoo resting on the young mage's back. Moon lifts her hand up and streaks of ink peel off Ceres's back, carefully navigating her robes, and resting lightly in the air above the heroes.
A sinister voice replaces Moon's voice as she begins to speak, aping the tone of the spider tattoo for everyone to hear. "With this tattoo, I was able to guide Ceres's actions and foil Dhalia's plans. Dhalia did manage to give Ceres a dagger, but due to this tattoo, I was able to replace it with my own." The tattoo begins to glow faintly and then fizzles out, disappearing in the air. Moon's voice returns to normal.
"Do you understand now? The only thing Ceres did was help me to destroy my nemesis. She performed better than I imagined and without her help, we would still be fighting that witch." Moon bows. "Thank you Ceres."
The Queen-Goddess returns to her throne. "Now that we have settled that, why don't you take some time off and relax for a little bit? There isn't much we can do at the moment anyways, and I have a new kingdom to prepare. Oh, and someone may want to find Vlad, Saphire, and Jade. I have a feeling those three are going to need a nice place to sleep off a hangover later."
With an explanation and now free time, the group finally has a little break from the chaos that is slowly engulfing the world.

I can feel it building up, and brace myself for the event. What I release sounds more like the roar of an angry bear than it does a belch. "*Buuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrppppppppppp!* Oooh, that was... a good one."
At this point, I've completely lost track of who's around me and where I am. Looking around I find that if I squint my eyes just the right way, the moving blobs nearby start to resemble people a little bit. The one to my left looks vaguely female. "Heeeyyyyyy. You come here often?"
I squint a little more and go on, "You know... you look kinna familiarrrr. Do I... know you?" At that point I trip over something. Looking down, it turns out to be my right foot. "Stupid foot, get outtahere. Now, where was I..."

The plans I had, I decide I don’t really want to do; just yet. I walk over to Ceres.
“Ceres, you’re a wizard, correct? I wouldn’t mind checking out your spellbook, if you wouldn’t mind. You could look through mine, too. Though, it would be best if we did it together. There’s something that I would need to prevent you from looking at. Plus, it would be best if done in silence. Though, some noise wouldn’t be too bothersome. Anyway, if you want to do this, just let me know when. I have other things to do now, though, so it’ll have to wait a little while. Which I am going to go do now. Bye, Ceres.”
I leave the group again.

Blake’s offer is appealing, my thirst for knowledge triggers in strongly again and gives my heart a spectacular joy. I slightly smile at him and words of excitement are ready to let loose on my lips, but considering his priority I refrain from insisting on his suggestion right away.
“Thank you.” I reply politely as I watch him walk away.
I turn back to Moon. The Queen-Goddess’ revelation has shaken me. Her alliance with the Mask was shocking but what she just exposes is even more devastating. Her plans are totally unexpected. I did not even see that coming, even the slightest detail. I have known her for just a short moment, so I will let my idiocy pass this time. I then promise to myself to be more observant and not loose into the hasty force of impulse, in which, had almost put myself into end, again.
“Queen-Goddess, your plan is indeed very intelligent.” I address her with amazement, “I… actually don’t know what to say. I guess I must thank you.”
I bow to her and head away from the group taking a last look for the day on Onyx (Onyx talk to me, I’ve been dying for your attention! ). I start strolling around the castle hoping to find a place where I can wash my bloody clothes and take a bath. Luckily, I found a room which offers all of my needs. The place looks clean and inviting, I easily assume that this room is solely for guests or somebody high ranked in society. There is a huge bathtub inside filled with water. Seeing, nobody is around, I grab all my guts and dare trespass the inside.
First, I wash my clothes thoroughly then hang it in a nice place to dry. Then I immerse myself into the tub filled with clean warm water. The feeling is so good, peaceful and relaxing. I start to rub off the dirt and blood in me. Then, I slowly lay my head back on the side of the tub, close my eyes and feel the temporary enjoyment.
“I haven’t had a nice bath like this for a long time.” I say to myself.
Recent events roam my mind - Moon’s revelation, Omega and Topaz’s sacrifice versus the Nightlord, the death of Dhalia, my moment with the drows, the treachery I have done to Moon, Ravenloft, meeting with the Highlord mostly horrible and unbelievable, but it doesn’t stop there. My mind digs something further, something unpleasant, something that I don’t want to remember, and then something triggers.
A sudden pain rush to my head, I instinctively grab my head with my two hands very tightly, a natural reaction hoping ease. Then I realize my eyes are widely staring at the bottom of the tub. I sigh and loosen the grip but still, pain surges. Then one good thing remains, I remember my familiar. I reach the pouch on the side and get the onyx figurine. I look at it kindly and place it on the floor.
“Sweetness!” I call in a moderate tone.
Mists swirls around the figure for some moment and when it’s finally gone a black panther come into view. The panther growled, and as soon as he sees me, he gladly approaches me and put its paw on my head in a playful manner. That made me chuckle for a while, and somehow, the pain is gone.
“Sweetness, I’ve miss you so much!” I whisper to the panther, taking his big black head and placing it close to my cheek.
The panther retorts rubbing his hairy top on my face and start to lick my cheek which tickles me. I laugh and for a long time, I never heard myself laugh like this. Sweetness begins to act in a manner that I am familiar with, moving his paw back and forth, he wants to play. We have fun cheerfully like the good old days. And for a long time, I never felt this glad.
“I should thank Moon for this.” I tell the panther, “And oh, forgive me from not calling you often, I’ve been on hard times and I don’t want to involve you.”
Sweetness growls again. He licks his fur for a while, then drops his body down and rests its head on the floor. Noticing that he’s contented with the play, I finalize my bathing and get dressed assuring that the pouch which holds the onyx figurine rests safe at my side. Again, I remember Blake’s offer which appears to be tempting. I plan to go to sleep after but then I don’t want to waste the opportunity. I decided to visit him. But before I leave the room, I make sure it’s clean and neat like before I used it.
“Come on sweetness, let us visit a friend.” I call him.
The panther slowly rises and flexes its body as he comes close to me. Both of us browse the castle again looking for Blake. And when I found him I will ask him if we could exchange spells like what he suggested before.

As Ceres is walking past an entrance to the castle, I come walking in, covered in a light layer of snow. Seeing her, and her panther, I brush the snow off my shoulders.
“Hello, Ceres. I was just out for a ride. I am getting better at it, but I do not think I will ever become the best. Much like my dancing, actually. But I still work towards both, since I find them rather fun.”
I kneel down and brush some more snow off, giving Ceres the opportunity to ask her question.
“Sure. I am ready, now, to exchange spells with you. Just need Raign.”
A weasel runs up, behind me, and climbs to my shoulder.
“And there she is. Let’s go.”
I start our search for somewhere quiet enough, with a large table away from the wall. Once found, we exchange spellbooks. I notice she doesn’t seem to have an extra spellbook to copy the spell onto, so I give her one of my blank ones.
“So you have somewhere to copy whichever spell you choose to. Just be warned. Raign will be watching you when I am not. There is a page, or two, you must not look at. If she has you turn two pages, instead of one, do not turn back to the missed page. Other than that, you should be fine.”
With that, I take one side of the table, allowing for her to take the other. I begin the process.

I mumble to myself:
"I need to find Moon. Maybe this time I can tell her everything...for real."
I take a few steps and frown, mumbling:
"That is, unless I wimp out again."
I look at Shady and ask:
"What should I do boy?"
Rather than give an answer, Shady just licks me.
"Fair enough. Let's go boy."
I decide to take a walk around town looking for Moon. If I can't find her, I'll browse the shops to see their wares.

Blake has been more generous, aside from letting me copy some of his spells; he gave me another spellbook, for free. I glance at him smiling extending my thanks. I feel glad at the moment, I am going to study spells again, one of the few things I do really enjoy. And it has been so many years since I had last done this. Back then, it was with my master. It was very memorable.
I browse his spellbook like how he wants it to be, skipping the forbidden pages and dare not to look at them. But still, I feel curious about it, making me think that he is hiding something, possibly a very powerful spell. As I turn the pages and look at the spells, I try to think what strategy he has with his current spells. It was very different than mine and some are very unfamiliar to me. I look at him again hoping to ask him a question, but the wizard looks very busy. I look back at the spell book and continue browsing. After moments of reading, three spells have caught my attention – Enlarge Person, Greater Heroism and Transformation. ((OOC: If I am allowed to study one spell for today I will choose Greater Heroism. So there are two more spells left that I am interested to copy. ))
My curiosity still lingers on me so I dare to ask him, “Um… excuse me Blake, there are many spells created in this world, may I know why you prefer these spells than the others?”

After spending a bit of time catching up with Elvin (with a bath after), Mitsu goes into town to see if she can find a blacksmith.
If/when she finds one, she asks if they do special orders. Showing them a throwing star, she requests 15 others be made. Same weight, balance, ect. Also, she asks about a Katana, but any sword made to fit her strength and handling style (ie personalized) would do. Also a wrist item that would thrust a dagger or star about 5' if needed and possible. When they are ready she will pick them up.
Next she visits a glass maker. She request 10 one ounce containers, made from dark glass, that can be carried but easily broken if needed. When ready she will pick them up
Next to the weapons shop to pick up 6 throwing daggers, a bandolier (for the daggers and stars), and a crossbow (with a score of bolts).
She takes these with her.
Next to the herbalist. A small amount of the following: Wolvesbane, Nightshade berries, and mistletoe.
Next to get some black gloves..two pair, one thick one normal
Finally to the mage componit supplier. Some basic componits, and a mixing bowl.
Then she will return to Elvin. Of course in each shop that it will take time to complete her request she lets them know where to find her if they get done before she returns.

In the meantime I thought I'd take a short nap, just the thing for this cold climate and who knows when I'll get a warm room with a bed after we hit the road. I get up lazily, better to get some supplies to be prepared should we have to move.
First stop is the hunter's cabin to get some trap components and a little later to the blacksmith. My current sword's balance is a bit off but I also need a good dagger.

I stop what I am doing for a bit, and look up.
"Why those spells? Well, I enchanting things, and evoking other things, is something I like. Half that book should be like that, at least. Some seemed like they would be of use, besides. Some are in there just for fun. A few I had to learn in preparation of having to remove that halfling from your group."
I smile, and return back to my studying.
