Mark looked around, trying to find his way somewhere not here, and still looking for Mina. It struck him odd that everyone seemed to have all these fancy pokemon walking around, and apparently they had large quantities of supplies because he had picked up these two things somewhere, and the young trainer finally admitted to himself that he was lost. He pulled out his cell to try and call Mina but didn't have any signal in this area, which was really rather a bother. That meant that he couldn't get any calls or texts, so he couldn't tell Mina where he was. So the trainer was stuck wandering through the back stage room, holding two pokeballs and some contest supplies as he wandered through the crowd, looking at the well groomed pokemon.

Mark:

As you continue to look around, you spy a poster advertising the next Contest ((eight days from now in Landsedge if you're interested)). But you still aren't any closer to finding Mina or any place you recognize when your search is interrupted: a girl with curly blonde hair done up on top of her head rushes past you, slams open a nearby door and babbles something panicked-sounding to its occupant. A female voice answers back, sounding disbelieving and worried. The blonde starts to answer back in the affirmative, but cuts off abruptly when the building starts to shake.

And suddenly everything is very quiet.

Stacey, now that some of her pokemon have been injured, feels the need to take them back to the center to get healed before she starts training them. Mona, especially, from taking that massive hit.

After healing her pokemon, she returns to the same spot, hoping to get some uninterrupted training accomplished. She calls out Dickson. She gives Mona one level's worth, and gives Dickson the three.

After training, she walks over to the path, and waits for the appropriate time.

Mark:

The blonde turns to you; you can see her makeup is smearing and she's pale with fear underneath it. "Bandra's coming!"

The building shakes again, and this time you can hear shouting—and screams. The blonde girl's friend yanks her into the room and leaves just enough time for the girl's Budew to hurry in after her before slamming the door shut. Back the way you came a couple of Graveler rumble into view from a side hall, trailing other common Grunt Pokemon and the Grunts themselves. The force splits itself and some of the hostile Pokemon start heading your way.

Bandra Grunts send out Wispaferyn ((A)), Graveler, and Wispaferyn ((B))!

Wispaferyn A: 72/72
Graveler: 70/70
Wispaferyn B: 54/54

Mina:

"Sir!"

Mina stood up, expecting to have lost her seat (and wondering where Mark was) as someone she presumed to be a member of the Starlight Squad pushed their way down the row towards Lijan. But the Squad member didn't sit down, and by the look on Lijan's face Mina knew the Lieutenant had been fearing this.

"What is it?" he asked.

The Squad member didn't even stop to catch his breath. "Helicopters, sir! Three of them, coming from the west!"

"Bandra," Lijan said. Mina swore and took off down the aisle as fast as she could.

Lijan clearly hadn't been expecting that, and called after her: "Where are you going?"

"Mark has my Pokemon!" she called back, but that was all the explanation she was going to give.

The forewarning gave Mina a head start; no one knew Bandra was coming yet and the crowds hadn't started to panic. She made it out of the Contest Hall at a run, ribs protesting the exertion—she knew she was going to get grief from the nurse for this.

It was still Bandra-free outside; Mina rushed across the town's square to the Center as fast as she could stand; not seeing her friend immediately, she accosted the nurse.

"Did Mark come by here?" At the nurse's blank look, it occurred to Mina that Nurse Joy might not have any idea who 'Mark' was—there were, after all, probably quiet a few people who came through on a daily basis. "Tall kid, kind of thin, had a Lapras?" Her ribs hurt. Definitely going to get grief for this.

"The boy with the prosthetic?"

"Yes!"

"He had your Pokemon?" the Nurse looked worryingly stern, but Mina didn't have time to find out why.

"Yes! Where did he go?"

"I saw him go over to the Contest Hall..."

Which meant that he was back where she'd just been. Drat! "Thanks!" she said instead, and turned to make her way back to the Hall.

But she could hear the rotors over the crowd in the Contest Hall now, deafeningly loud. And sure enough, a helicopter was right there in the town square. The pilot wasn't even bothering to land all the way, just getting low enough for the Grunts inside to jump out, and their Pokemon were materializing as she watched. Several of them set off for the Contest Hall, but another branch was headed right for her and the Mart and the Pokemon Center.

Graveler: 70/70
Geodude: 52/52
Sandshrew 1: 67/67
Sandshrew 2: 58/58
Mankey: 43/43
Machop: 77/77
Sentret: 48/48

Christian:

((Roll = 69, 68))

You make your way back to Stardust completely without incident. You arrive exhausted—it's about 5:30 AM—but manage to get your Pokemon healed and other business taken care of before crashing into an over-airfreshened room for eight hours' sleep. ((If you're swapping out for your new Wobbuffet, let me know who you're swapping.))

You awake about 2PM, and after a short interval to take care of important things like food, set off for Moontear. There don't appear to be any jeeps free, and the helicopters are MIA entirely, so you set out on foot.

((Roll = 52, 94, 93, 68, 25))

Approaching the hills south of Moontear, you happen to glance in the direction of the loamy soil patch you retrieved your Wepear and Nanab Berries from.

((Berry Roll for the patch, you're currently on Day 13 and you last visited on day 7-ish, so:

77, 70, 100, 20, 34 – bah!))

It's bare, and it seems no one has seen fit to use it since your last visit. The disgraceful cave is also still empty, but you can see the Tiny Mushrooms from your previous journey are still there—in fact one of the four has grown into a Big Mushroom. Pity they're out of reach...

You arrive in Moontear after 11 hours of travel; it's currently about 2 AM.

----------------

Stacey:

You train your Pokemon for a while. You are left alone, the beachgoers apparently unimpressed by your battling skill. But nearby your former opponent is gleefully accepting challenges, to the point that by the time you finish training his swim trunks are stuffed with PD from his victories and one of his Pokemon has evolved—though you can't see it well enough to get more than a glimpse of something pink.

Your Pokemon, however, do seem to be improving:

Once your training is complete, you go to the path to wait for the crossing window. It's about 2:30 PM.

Brona:

You approach the younger boy for a battle.

"Yeah, I wanna battle!" He dashes outside and takes up a ready position in the town's plaza. "I'm gonna win!"

The boy sends out a Starly.

((Afterwards: ))

You get your Pokemon healed and wait some more. Eventually the older boy appears, and you approach him for a battle. ((Roll = 68))

"Sure, I'll battle you...it'll be a nice warm-up for the Gym. Meet me out by the gallows in five, okay?"

((Wager for either battle?))

Mark quickly dropped the contest supplies and sent out Lapras, Corphish, and after a moment of thought Ariados. Hopefully these three would be enough to take them, since he didn't want to have to use Skarmory because of the two fire type pokemon and Tailow and Kirlia couldn't really take a hit yet...

"Lapras, open up with sing. Get all of them to sleep if you can. Ariados, hit the closest Wispafaren or whatever it's called with Shadow Step. Corphish, use bubble on them as well."

Christian:

You check the office, looking for Selene, but despite the early hour the guard on duty redirects you to the training hall. Here you find the leader of Team Bandra, along with a surprising number of  Grunts. Her Tyranitar is out in one of the practice arenas, surrounded by Grunt Pokemon and a raging sandstorm. The big pseudo-legendary is carving a swath through the Grunts' Pokemon as you approach.

"You're back," she states, after an odd change of expression that swings from very pleased at your appearance to disconsolate for no apparent reason. It then settles to business-like as she begins to speak.

"The agents in Stardust told me of the success of your mission; good work. You may report to the quartermaster for your reward, but first, I have a mission for you.

Those irritating trainer brats and more of the blasted Starlight Squad attacked one of our towns recently, and most of them managed to escape when we drove them off. We have ways of keeping tabs on the Squad, but the brats are proving hard to keep track of, and the one hook we've managed to get on them has proved...unreliable.

I'm getting tired of their interference. Your former friends already know and trust you, and you've been careful to hide your change of allegiance from them" you can tell that this, if nothing else, has Selene very pleased "so I want you to spy on them. Find out their movements and plans, and send regular reports back to me."

----------------

Brona:

((You're surprised? It's stolen too you know! It takes a lot more experience as a trainer and/or work with the Pokemon than an hour of training and a couple small battles to overcome that!))

((First battle: ))

The Starly smacks your Geodude with a wing-again barely hurting it. Geodude has apparently had enough at this point, as it pries a stone from the ground of the plaza and takes out the Starly with one solid hit. ((Obedience Roll = 16))

"Oh no!" The boy recalls his little bird, and sends out a very young Rattata.

((Second battle: ))

The Ekans lets out a noise that hurts your ears and seems to be even more unpleasant for Geodude. Your Pokemon almost doesn't hear you as a result, but at last frees a fist from covering its ears to strike the ground. ((Obedience Roll = 72)) It seems strangely reluctant to give its all, and perhaps as a result the Ekans is only hurt when the shaking ends, rather than unconscious.

----------------

Mark:

((Told you, three Pokemon at a time. You can have another three called out behind you if you want, but they aren't going to be able to affect the battle in front of you at all.))

((First Battle: ))

((Obedience = 31)) Geodude manages a good solid *THUD* this time, and the Rattata is just a touch too slow; the attack rips through the little rodent like paper, sending it flying several feet and into unconsciousness.

The boy, sniffling just a little, hands you your winnings before running off with his Rattata to the Pokemon Center. ((+100 PD, putting you at 200 PD))

((Second Battle: ))

The Ekans chomps down hard on your Pokemon; Geodude shudders under the attack, temporarily frozen and unable to act.

Ariados bypasses Lapras' bulk by the simple measure of climbing the walls, from where he leaps for his target with blinding speed.

Wispaferyn A uses Smokescreen!
Lapras' Accuracy falls!
Ariados' Accuracy falls!
Corphish's Accuracy falls!
