Indeed it was (and is) beautiful, though personally, not sure that I would've done the same thing in Mr Smith's place (ragarding his betrothed) but I guess it's a different culture, and he had to learn his place.
Quite ironic that I was praising the craftsmenship that those people were blessed with, but at the same time paid little heed to the artist who dippicted it so.

It's series, books and stories like that that make you wanna travel.
Too bad the Soviets extinquished that culture.

It's well depicted in the comics too with Amira coming from the equestrian clan and Karluk from the evolving city where only old people can shoot a bow.

The threat of russia was quite apparent, surely some would've migrated into persia or further into the steppes (they were nobads afterall)
Also, I know this is two years old, but i still feel the need to comment:

Got my first actual manga volumes today, the price is finally down to human levels here. They're 5,00 € a piece when compared to Donald Duck paperbacks are 3-5,00 €.
And we all know how much more awesome Black Lagoon is.

Can anyonbe direct me to the page and colume where Gatts and Caska eavesdrop on Griffith and princess Charlotte. (and where Griffith makes his infamous speech about what he considers as a 'friend')
My manga reader appears to be glitched, it cuts off all bits between when gutts is aided by the demon guy, and the bit where Griffit gets 'assassinated'.

Not sure where that is but he basically said that that he did not consider his subordinates as his friends and that a friend must be someone he considers his equal, who chases his own dream instead of following someone else's.

It's right after he assassinated that kid and killed Julius.

I don't know what you thought, but I LOOOOOVED the Berserk movie! Sure, they cut a few character development scenes and especially most of the Griffith snowry out of it, but Guts was kicking ass! If there's one reason to watch Berserk, is Guts kicking ass! Looking forward to the next one now.

Just watched Eureka Seven AO episode 11.
Now we're on original Eureka Seven levels of mind****, I love it... real fan-treat.
Trying to figure out how the characters relate to the original series' characters is very interesting.

It's still pretty cool.
EDIT:
Finished Psyren, pretty damn nice shonen manga. Some awesome fights and the main char turns really cool towards the end.
I can recommend it.

I've heard good things of it.
I haven't recommend Karate Shokoushi Minoru to you, have I Ad?
Besides of some awesome craziness at times it's a pretty good series of martial arts without the HADOUKEN
