Great job Looking forward to this. Especially the cove
By the way, don't release it this week. Work more, quality before quantity
Nah, but you should do what you want to. In my opinion you shouldn't release it yet Release the 0.1 beta next month or so, so we'll have more quality. More quality = more fans

I don't think they will release Hota in this week,i don't know what are they working at now, but i think that they won't release HotA in saturday or sunday

they are STILL working, if they'll release HotA 0.1 it don't mean that they would stop making 1.0

On page 32 of this thread there is a translated link to a site of current town projects. It's outdated and doesn't have all the information but it's cool nonetheless.
p.s. anyone else thinks that the sea serpent looks like Jaffar from Aladin SPOILER ALERT, when Jaffar turns into a cobra to fight Aladin.

More I open this thread, less I am interested to do so. It became a continuous Spam and lowered quality those last days.
There is no release date. There will never be. It will be out when they finish. They can't know when it is finished because WoG is complex and even with in deep tests, a simple typo error in codes can screw all.

It seems already from the pics on page 1 that a lot of the things work just fine. Why not just release what you have now as a pre-beta. That way, people could have their suspense satisfied, and then act as testers and come with more in depth qualified ideas for fixes and changes, and it wouldn't at all change anything for the original release, as it's not like the team stops working on this as soon as the first beta is released...
Thanks

First, if they would do this, it will be amateurish proof. And they are far from that. Pics from first page are showing only graphics, nothing is sure about being playable. Did you ever mod anything?
Second, they really don't care about "our" suspense at all, thus they are not hurry to release anything just to please some of you. There is no money involved, so they are not under a real constraint.

I saw that the HotA page was down and hopes fullfilled me that it is out...but then I saw here:http://gethota.com/
That it's not...
Anyway...
What I also want to say is that saying to the HotA team not to release the beta(if it's playable) is idiotic for 2 reasons:
1)Realisng a beta does not mean that developing stops...It's just a beta that gives us a taste of it and helps them by having more people finding bugs...(Haven't you ever follow an open-source program development?!?)
2)I don't think that HotA team comes to these places any more and if they do they don't come too often...

Wrong. Some of HotA team members visit this page often enough.
The problem is that only 2-3 people in their team really know how it's getting it's getting on.
Actually if you just want to know "WHEN???" have to say that nobody knows it. Official forum or American it is, it doesn't matter. If there is some great news developers will inform everybody immediately.
But if you have some awesome idea just post it here and with our help (Spartak's or mine) developers will be told that soon.
Access to the download page will be restored soon. But nothing will be changed. No available releases...

There has never been anything wrong with releasing a beta for any game, ever. A beta only does positive things for the game's developers and players. Fans get a good satisfying taste, developers get valuable feedback.
Arguments against the release of a beta, for HoMM 3 or any other game, have no bearing. There are no negatives that could possibly outweigh the positives. Generally speaking, betas are usually a step and measure taken prior to the release of a game. And since these people are developing this for free on their own time, all the more reason for a beta. Rather than paying beta testers 9 bucks an hour to do it, an online community game like this can only benefit more. Just like Blizzard: when you can afford to release a beta, do it.
This of course is assuming that the project is completed enough to be playable somewhat. And as long as that's the case, it should be easy and take relatively little time to patch a beta our way.
If not, well we're not in a rush, but this release has become very anticipated. I agree you should all take your time. If the quality of the pictures and developer notes is as good as it sounds, we're looking at a fantastic addition which I can't wait for. But I would argue that anyone who fantasizes about the "best quality possible" without more than a few people to test it are thinking much too far inside the box. If releasing a beta for HotA is a viable option, do it.
