Awwwwwwwwwww

That is SOOO sweet and romantic. *sniffs*

I can picture it now....

*Mvass gets down on his knees and holds his girl's hands in his*

Honey, would you like to enter into an idealized business proposal, one in which we look forward to and stand to gain from?

*Mvass' girlfriend (with a tear running down her cheek) throws her arms around Mvass*

Oh Mvass, I thought you would never ask. Of course I'll enter into an idealized business proposal with you.

*Simultaneously under their breath*

Conditional upon my attorney’s review of all pertinent documents, approval of all regulatory agencies, testing for any diseases which may negatively impact future earning potential of said business enterprise, auditing of all current assets prior to merger.....

*Notices that Mvass' GF seems to have a bit of a swollen stomach*

Why Mvass, is that a future asset with earnings potential on the way? You sly dog you!

*Looks to see that Mvass isn't paying attention*

*Mvass is looking deep into his fiancee's eyes*

Have I ever told you that you have the most beautiful cash flow statements I've ever seen?

*Binabik clears throat and walks quietly away to leave the two future business partners time alone*

Yes, but you haven't exactly had that either have you?

Like, have you approached woman in both ways, this business like way that you want and the normal way that most other people do to be able to say what one works better?

It is incorrect to speak of "approaching women" when using my method. You do not approach them, since you know them already. That's the whole point.

As for the other method, I have no doubt that it can accomplish something - just not what I want.

actually, it's not stupid. the goal is different, but the best way to reach it isn't really different.

so, who can brag about being better at relationships? the one who never had one, or the one who failed all the time?

well, falling in love is probably irrational, maintening a satisfying relationship probably isn't.

nonsense?

Those who expect to be loved, not because they offer some positive value, but because they don't--i.e., those who demand love as altruistic duty--are parasites. Someone who says "Love me just because I need it" seeks an unearned spiritual value--in the same way that a thief seeks unearned wealth.

I'm not sure it works that way anyway. you should give love, not expect it from other people.
I disagree with mvass as well and big time, regarding the "love is selfish" thing -- well true love that is (and not necessarily partner love mind you).

Who cares about "unearned" love? Love is not about the TARGET necessarily, it's about YOU, or the person who "gives" love. They can be parasites, diabolical, selfish, or whatever else, it's not about THEM for crying out loud.

Of course a reasonable person would not help his enemy. Being 100% loving and 0% thinking is dumb in my opinion. However that doesn't change the fact that the person, dumb or not, still gives love. And it's THAT person that is important here, not the 'parasite'.

And mvass all articles that say that ANY good feeling whatsoever is selfish should be erased from the face of the planet. By that logic everything whatsoever is selfish, and there's no freaking point to assign an attribute (selfish) to something that EVERYONE shares. Attributes are meant to distinguish two different entities. So please drop that stupidity already.

Sure, and software can be fixed by waving your magic wand too.

There's two types of people in this world: the sheep who cry all the time while someone mentions a flaw in something but does not give a solution, and the people who think we don't have all the solutions, or some things simply don't have a solution yet... or maybe that the act itself is to find out?

Apparently you fall into the first one.

e.g:

- You can't fly by waving your hands.
- I don't see you flying around so stfu.

*sigh*

I miraculously still don't see my two-year-long relationship as a business enterprise. And I'm pretty positive it has so far taken everything except selfishness to maintain it

But like you said, it's probably a rare accident.

Though personally I think a rare accident would be a chick not slapping you in the face after you offer them a business proposal related to love.

Also according to Wikipedia if you know a chick and don't approach her, it's called a friend.
Or leper, if we take approaching literally.

Finally, Death, without any offense whatsoever, blaming us for not explaining what love is about to you isn't making us look wrong, it's just making you look miserable.

e.g:
-You're not telling me how to love a woman!
-How about talking to one instead of discussing it on a forum?
-Sigh

Strange, whenever I read something about "giving love" like it was great selfless gift, the first thing that comes to mind is the old Latin aphorism, "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes". T

The second is the good old Led Zeppelin tune "Whole Lotta Love", with the fine lyrics, "Way, way down inside, I'm gonna give you my love, I'm gonna give you every inch of my love..."

How would you use the typical method to approach someone you already know? I thought the whole point of the typical method was to get girls you don't know.

That's kind of what this article is saying, though. Love is about you - what you happen to value, and love as a result of that.

No. There is also bad faith. Also, there's a difference between acting selfishly and benefiting the self. One is merely motivated by selfish desire, while the other actually gets selfish outcomes. Too often, people don't really know what they want, and are unhappy as a result. That's why they should be more rational.

You don't literally call it a business proposal, though. But it's very much like a very enjoyable and lasting one.

The irony is that it is not professional at all, which you would expect from a business perspective. So it's a total fail in both ways.
